main apps i’m using
organization/school
1. notion: to-do lists, calender, organization, practice log, composition log, habits tracker, journal, fitness plan/tracker, general reminders and saving links/info etc.
2. goodnotes 5: taking notes (i have this automatically syncing through google drive to notion, so i can add a pdf of my notes for each topic to a database in notion, where i can separate notes by class and see my notes for that class on my individual class pages), annotating scores
3. quizlet: memorizing vocab/formulas etc. tbh i prefer anki but i use quizlet more because i can access quizlet from my computer, ipad, and iphone, but i can only access anki from my computer
4. highlights: i’ve only used this a couple times, and it’s a great idea, but it’s not really what i was looking for when i downloaded it (highlight a pdf and be able to easily make an outline) i just got the mac app and i have to play around with this a bit more. if the mac app isn’t much easier to use/more what i’m looking for then the ipad app, i’ll probably stop using this
5. google drive: syncing goodnotes to notion, file backup
music
1. finale: composing
2. forscore: storing (and marking up) sheet music. this was awesome when i wasn’t playing in any in-person ensembles. now that i’m in person, i’m using paper sheet music more, but forscore is still great for keeping a backup copy of music and storing sheet music that i’m playing on my own. i also haven’t used this feature yet, but you can import an audio file into forscore and play along with that while looking at the sheet music, so that would be good for practicing.
3. tonal energy tuner: tuner, pitch pipe, metronome
