Spoilers for a Kadara side mission...

11. Kadara: Did you recover Dr. Ryota’s Oblivion Formula, or leave it in the hands of Arenna Farenth?

Carrie recovered it. She’d read Ryota’s personal logs (have I mentioned Carrie is nosy?), and they seemed to back up his story as opposed to Farenth’s, who she found pretty unconvincing.

She was so glad to find Ryota working at the Initiative outpost once it was established. He struck her as a good person in bad circumstances.

So, how does ME3 work you try to import a Shepard dies save from ME2?

For some reason, it just shows me a picture of the Illusive Man and a Reaper holding hands. OK, I completely made that up, but it would be great. In the real world, it just doesn’t show it on the list of options to import. syzara replied to your post “Speedy Shepard 2.0”

I don't know how you and clio can do these things tbh >.< but I'm glad you're taking them for the team ;) (I saw/heard a few of the outcomes, and mr. tigs did an ME3 run *without* save game, which leads to pretty much a similar galaxy state. EEK.)

It takes a fair amount of psyching myself up in advance. In this case it helped that “how do I kill everyone” was an interesting logic puzzle and figuring it out helped distract me from the horror. todisturbtheuniverse replied to your post “Speedy Shepard 2.0”

Speedy! Every time he appears on my dash, I feel such a mix of dread and delight. Really cool that you got to take Legion so many places, though!

That was definitely the other thing that helped motivate me through this playthrough... Legion is quite possibly my favorite ME2 squad mate (though there’s lots of competition) and it’s so sad how little time you get to spend with him if you do things in the “right” order. Even on the missions where he didn’t have much extra to say, I enjoyed getting to hear his combat dialogues. (But I still wanted more unique dialogue because I am greedy that way.)

I'm fine with the puzzle, but it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out how to cycle through the characters.  I kept opening it up and immediately submitting it.

You must have a hell of a lot of patience. Once it went on a 5x5 grid with fucking tetris bullshit I went straight to the internet

It's consistent characterization, at least!

It is, unlike with Shepard it looks like the devs had a clear idea of what Ryder was. Shepard in comparison was in retrospect, a blank slate

30 and 40 for the ME meme!

30. Something you disliked about ME/ME2/ME3? 

ME1: Inventory management. The accumulation of piles of weapons, armor, and ammo that were hard to tell apart and often not as good as what you were carrying, requiring you to sort and sell that stuff every time you finished a mission. That got real old real fast.

ME2: The lack of scope and outdoor environments. In ME2 you basically fight your way through a series of boxes. Sometimes they’re fun boxes, but I missed the landscapes and exploration in the first game. I also disliked the Hammerhead a lot, so what exploration there was didn’t work for me as well.

ME3: Aside from the ending, the linearity of the game bugs me. It doesn’t quite run on rails, but there are not always a lot of options for what order to do missions in, which makes the playing experience less varied for me.

40. Do you already know how your Ryderwill look like? Describe them or share fanart. 

I do not! I tend not to plan characters’ appearance in advance, aside maybe from some very vague parameters. I need to sort this out by actually playing around in the character creator. I’m vaguely thinking short dark hair, but we shall see!

Last non-Bioware game you played and did you like it?

The last non-Bioware game that I played was Skyrim, which is pretty much my space-out game. It doesn’t have the same plot-based urgency as the Bioware games do, so if I want to spend three weeks in Whiterun leveling up my Smithing skill because that’s where my brain is at, I can! 

I love open-world games like that, so I’m tempted to buy the remastered version for PS4!

💣: ship that pisses you off

I don’t generally have very strong negative feelings about ships, and my general approach to fandom is to ship and let ship.

That being said, Jack/Miranda pisses me off.

I’d like to make it clear that my ship-and-let-ship philosophy still stands, and I certainly don’t want to say that anyone shouldn’t ship it. For me, however, I find their relationship toxic and vicious, and I’d rather keep them in separate penalty boxes. Hateshipping just doesn’t do it for me, and that’s certainly a matter of personal preference.

That being said, Interpretations by @todisturbtheuniverse​ is an excellent fic that works them into a relationship that I think is beautifully complex and sympathetic and that captures both of their voices really well. 10/10 do recommend.

US TOO. I am really moved and touched by the number of people across the world who were worried about our kitty. (And now I can’t find him so I’m getting panicky again, even though NO DOORS HAVE BEEN OPEN SINCE THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM.)
