Pavillons des Bercy and the Musée des Arts Forains in Paris, are totally magical. It’s a carnival museum that’s whimsical, quirky, and enchanted.
Visits are by appointment only and by guided tour. This is a hands-on museum, and while you can’t just wander around on your own, you do get to ride on some of the rides and play some of the midway games.
There’re rides from all over Europe, like this antique velocipede. Get on and start pedaling.
It’s quiet, too, so you can enjoy a carnival w/o the noise. No food or drink is allowed, though, so have lunch before you go.
You can play cool, old time carnival games.
There’s a theater for shows, and so much more.
And, of course, you can have a wedding there, too. (Damn! And, I got married in city hall. Can I call Do Over?)
