HabitRPG Day 1: I'm going on an adventure!
I'm starting this journal after year and a half of having my own castle. I was not particularly interested on starting a journal before, but today I found a guild of adventurers that seemed interesting, so I went in the I-space tavern.
For what I gather, this guild help each other run their castles in the best way possible, forming habits that any good Landlord/Landlady should have, but most often than not they don't. I was curious, I had seen these kind of guilds before and even participated in a couple with the rest of my family; but they always fell of the wayside. So I said, why not? The worst thing that could happen was that I would not have any progress.
I added my name to the list, and they welcomed me into the world of Habitta. For what I can understand, the idea here is that you organize yours tasks on lists, and every time you finish a task the guild pays you in gold, which you can use to buy commodities. However, since it is a magically banding contract, each task you do not complete will hurt you a little, and if you let your duties slide too much the guild may even take the paid money back! On the other hand, each time you do tasks you get experience, which lets you eventually take more challenges later on, and even start taking specific classes.
There are three kinds of tasks:
Habits: You do them every day, multiple times a day. Things like eating healthy, fighting Dust Devils, reading tomes, etc. They are easy because they are short, but they also give the least gold. Habits have positive and negative marks, which you have to touch to let the guild know you are upholding your end of the deal and let them pay. However, if you do bad habits, it gives you a small sting as punishment.
Daylies: Things done once a day, like making the bed, looking the finances of the castle, Training. These have three tiers, and each tier gives more or less reward. However, if at the end of the day you have not finished them, they give you a sting to punish you. They can be set to certain days of the week only, thankfully.
To Do: These are special actions you have to take care of but are not urgent, like going to the fair, fighting the goblins, and finishing your spells. These also have tiers
At the end of the contract there are rewards that you can purchase with your gold, you set the rewards and how much they cost. At first it seemed a bit silly to me at first, since I thought it was too easy to abuse such a contract, but then I understood that it was done so the Lord/Lady disciplined him/herself.
Oh, the task also change color based on your progress. The scale is, from worst to best: Red, orange, yellow, green and blue. Red tasks give the most powerful stings, and blue the least powerful ones, so you can focus on the harder tasks.
Finally, after a certain amount of experience, the guild resets the stings and adds a bigger cap; however they will expect more of you, so you will have to get more experience to impress them. I have also heard that you can get pets, but I was too tired and didn't pay much attention to that. Before going out of I-space however, I signed up for a couple of easy-looking quests to help me get fast experience.
I am off to bed now, it has been a long day. I am sorry if this seems like a rambling, but after a day of sculpting, charaforge, the usual tasks of a Landlady plus the Dragon negotiations I am extremely tired. I am leaving here the incantation to access the I-space, if someone wants to check it out. And if you decide that you want to be part of the guild, maybe we could form a party too.
