As mentioned in my last post, welcome to Aislynn's 1 Word For Each WIP November Extravaganza! (It was too long to fit all of that in the banner, so hence the number 4 coming in clutch, lol!)

Here's what I'm GOING TO write at least one word for in the month of November:

Halo the series

"15 Minutes" - (John/Female Reader) Chapter 12 is in progress and will get progressiver (word of the day) by at least 1 more word! *nodnods*

"Recreation" - (Kai/Male Reader) The final chapter will be slotting in between its sibling fic's *points up at "15M"* second to last and final chapter. I have notes on chapter 5 but no draft started... yet.

"Untitled Fluffy Vannak fic" - (Vannak/Female Reader) Just a one-shot that I wanted to do for the big guy, something sweet and fun because he got VERY LITTLE of either in season 2. 😭The draft is already in progress.

I also would like to write a Reader fic for Riz since the entire rest of Silver Team is getting something 👀but have nothing on tap just yet.🤞😣🤞 One day, I hope, but I'm not counting this as part of my WIPs to be finished in November... unless I should get a heck of a lot of work done on everything else. 😉

Halo: Reach

"Choices: A Choose Your Own Spartan Adventure" - (Noble Team/Female Reader) One of the most personally ambitious things I've attempted in a while, the first chapter that sets up the adventure is almost done. Next to go are each of the chapters where you choose which Noble Team member you'll continue the adventure with. I have the plot for all of them but only Emile's has something written. We'll also be getting a separate chapters for female and male Noble Six, since we're all about, you know, choosing who you want to adventure with and Six can be either in the game. 😎👍

The Flash

"The Price" (NSFW) - (Caitlin Frost/Hunter Zolomon) I've known what's going to happen in chapter 2 for a quite a while now. Just got to write it... one word at a time, right?

"Guardian Angel" - (Time Wraith!Caitlin Snow/Eobard Thawne) About 1/3 of chapter 3 has been done for, umm, years now. Just need to push it on through a little bit more! I'm not sure how many chapters in all it will be, at least this one and a 4th but that may be enough to finish it. We'll see!

"Split" - (Caitlin Snow/Eobard Thawne) The third and final fic in the Ghost of Eobard Thawne series turned out, to my surprise, to have 3 very ragged first drafts and part of a 4th chapter just hanging out in my Word docs after all of these years. I still have my *surprised Pikachu face* on for this one, what can I say? 🤷‍♀️😂

"Try" (NSFW) - (TomCav!Eobard Thawne/Caitlin Snow/Mattobard!Eobard Thawne) Oh yeah, I went there. After all of the versions of them that I've written, the only really surprising thing is that I didn't do this a lot sooner, lol! This one has 3 chapters of almost 8k words done that nobody has ever read. It's weirdly one of the few times I did world-building, too. It's projected to be pretty big, 20-25 chapters, so maybe 50k words? 😱 It's a really big undertaking for something that's honestly just for me but... I'd really like to be able to read the entire thing one day, lol! And there's only one way to do that: I've got to write it, one word at a time. 🤷‍♀️😉

I may have totally forgotten something but this was all that showed up in my WIPs folder. Of course, that folder was imperfectly copied from my previous computer and I had to go looking for several of these, so who knows. If I missed something, feel free to let me know.

Thought I’d upload my first sketch of this au, as it’s also the header of this blog. Here’s Snowkit being accidentally rescued from the hawk by two Frostclan cats, Frosthunter and Heatherstone. Both cats will become important in his new life later, especially Heatherstone as he’s deaf as well

Okay, frens, I’m about to probably be a lot less available once NaNo starts tomorrow. Which is kinda saying something, given how I’ve been pretty absent lately. Being sick sucks rocks through a straw. 😕

However, the exceptions will be if:

I’m stalling (despite the fact I’m probably panicking that I’m not writing at the same time 🤷‍♀️)

I’m blocked (in which case I might ask for prompts just to try to get something short going again)

My writering muse* is being a little jerk (there’s no cure for this 😣😛)

(*I just caught this weird typo and left it because “writering muse” felt appropriate for some reason, lol, kinda like she’s wandering around, maybe gonna write eventually... 😛)

Again, depending on how I feel/how things are going, I may start editing and posting things just to give me a much-needed serotonin boost. We’ll see!

I’m hoping going to write “The Price” (Frosthunter, The Flash, NSFW) in its entirety because I have a total of one (1) person at AO3 who has politely asked me about it a couple of times over the past - what, year? Two years? - since I first mentioned wanting to write it. Just when I’m about give up on it, this lovely person writes me a sweet note saying how they hope I’m doing well and that I’ll still write it one day. And that gives me the strength to keep fighting on, lol!

Despite the fact that, well, Zoom isn’t usually a laugh riot, “The Price” is intended to be rather explicit smut with a humorous slant. Just how explicit and how humorous... we’ll find out together! Even if it’s just me and that one lone person over at AO3, lol!

(If you ever wonder if your comment will make a difference, then I can promise you that yes, it definitely does. Just knowing that somebody cares is SO important. 🤗)

Secondly, I want to finish “Cupid’s Kiss” (Snowells, The Flash, NSFW) and “Guardian Angel” (Snowells, The Flash) at long last. 🤞😣🤞

This will probably close out my Flash fics for now. I wish I could’ve gotten them done sooner but... Life, right? 😕 I hope that anybody who still cares how they ended will get the chance to see them.

“Try” (aka the Big Beast of ReverseSnowThawne) still might randomly appear one day, despite being a thing that exactly zero (0) people probably want to read, lol. But I still want to see how it all works out and it has worldbuilding and there are already 3 chapters written so... We’ll see. It definitely has enough mileage to it to give me the 50k for this NaNo.

Over in the world of Halo... “15 Minutes” chapter 6 (John/Reader) and “Recreation” chapter 3 (Kai/maleReader) are in pre-planning. (“15 Minutes” is the rare beast of mine in that I actually have so many events still in store for it that I’ve done an outline. As a long-time pantser, that’s saying something, lol!)

“Choices” (tentative title, Noble Team x Reader, Halo: Reach) is something I’m still very excited about! It starts with the premise in chapter 1 where the reader meets Noble Team. At the end of ch1, you’ll choose who you’re going to go with and there will be links to the appropriate chapter that will conclude the story with you and either Carter, Kat, Jun, Emile, Jorge or Six (male and female versions).

I’ve always loved Choose Your Own Adventure type stories and after reading @lialacleaf​‘s awesome and super fun Master Chief x Reader interactive fic “The Medic,” I was inspired to try my own variation (mine is, of course, a very simplified version, you only make that one choice of who you’re going with but still! Similiar if simpler! 😁)

It’s going to be November before we know it and you know what THAT means, right?

It’s NaNoWriMo time! 🥳🎉

Where I will be writing the scintillating novel of a fangirl who’s trying desperately to finish all of these darn works-in-progress. Can she do it? Will she find love along the way? Probably only the fictional kind but that’s still TOTALLY VALID. Stay tuned for the NaNo novel that will have you on your feet, cheering for the plucky protagonist to make her word count and to finally, at long last, give her blorbos the happy ending* they deserve!

*And sometimes they even get a *cough cough happy ending cough cough* because there are a couple of smut fics in there, lol.

 Anybody out there planning to do this next NaNo? 😎👍 This will be my 15th NaNo proper (I’ve done every November NaNo since 2008) and my 36th (!!!) NaNo event counting the Camp NaNos along the way (the twice yearly Camps started in 2011, I missed the very first one, one in 2018 and 2019).

I finally started writing again. Not, you know, ANY of the things that I would like to get done, that maybe a couple of people would potentially even read. Oh no, my muse went for the Snowhunter one.

Sooo, “The Price” finally has its first chapter done. It’s not turning out like I was expecting it but I think it’s going the way it needs to go. *fingers crossed* This is a different version of Caitlin than I believe I’ve written before and that’s fun to do.

I still hope to be able to jump back over to one of the older WIPs that are waiting for me to push them across the finish line. So many are SO CLOSE. It makes me sad to see how many people who commented on some of their first chapters are no longer even in the fandom now. I wish I could’ve gotten them the ending of the stories when they still cared, you know? 😕 Ah well.

Anyway, this is the version of Hunter that I envisioned before I’d even written him the other two times and is still my favorite.

Well, at least I’m writing again, that’s something. Thanks so much for all of the support over this past week. My aunt finally was able to see her doctor and is on new meds so hopefully will be over the life-threatening crisis she’s lived in for this past week and a half or so. And hopefully my own blood pressure can come down as well. 🤞 I can’t even touch on real world events. My prayers go out to all of the people caught up in the fighting. If you have family or friends (or are even there yourself), I pray you’ll be safe and this will end quickly and peacefully. My troubles feel so small and trivial in comparison, I’m sorry.

Today, on this installment of “Aislynn Has Apparently Never Written A Fic Before Because She’s Certainly Struggling On This One 😳” we pick up from where we left off with a little bit of hope!

We have A TITLE, frens and fam! I think this iteration of the plot has hope of working, since the first (couple of versions 😒) never could reconcile into a title. No guarantee that this one will stick, of course, but at least it’s something!
