Jinbe:

Zoro Other crew members rejoice! For there is someone else--more adept even--to be able to fish the owl out of the sea! (Not that it happens terribly often but point being..)

Usopp Other crew members rejoice! When the witch is in need of specific sands and other materials from the sea she has another person to pester for them! 

Given the circumstances, it took longer for Serena to familiarize herself with Jinbe. All budding relationships have their inherent awkward properties, however, theirs had some more unique hurdles to overcome. Such as perching: a difficult task with webbed fingers and sensitive gills along most of the shoulder, making for limited areas to grasp and land. 

From time to time she will offer the fisherman her pipe-- just standard tobacco this time, promise! No need to repeat the mixup she had with Sanji;;

- Serena herself is not inclined to smoke tobacco on her own accord given everything else she pumps into her system;; but has been known to be a social smoker in that regard. 

Curiously enough, as she grows more accustom to Jinbe’s presence, she has become more prone to more childish impulses and/or behaviors. A handful of mannerisms of his remind her of her own father and, as such, perhaps she is subconsciously projecting onto him what she has lost. A few examples being:

-Very similar to how she enjoys nestling down with Zoro or being able to nonchalantly settle along Franky’s shoulders, she finds comfort in touch, in being enveloped. So the luscious mane of Jinbei is everything a tiny raptor could want during a bout of nesting fever. It’s rather comfortable and warm but a rarer indulgence since she would like to avoid being caught doing so. 

-Rather curious by nature, cautious by experience, she occasionally reminds herself of Luffy with every inquiry popping into her head: Is it difficult going from breathing air to breathing water? Which do you prefer and why? How do you communicate with whale sharks? Is it only that species or is it any fish? Is there a dialect for you other than common? 

If she is not careful, the little bundle of plumage will spend a fair amount of time satiating her musings. Thankfully, the helmsman seems to be patient enough with her questioning.
