Where did all the mlm writers for self-insert fics go? I don’t enjoy reading for a female’s perspective even if some of the works i have found are killer. Not even like a crumb of gender neutral anymore. And when i do find it its for an oc or a blurb. I just wanna read about being a man and kissing Eddie Munson and bot pretend to be Steve Harrington(big steddie non-enjoyer).

I would go back but I also feel like since the writers are gone so is the correct audience and I don’t want to write and share my work if there isn’t any who can properly enjoy it. That and I fear the fanfic writer curse. It has hit me once and my house literally caught fire last October😭

When I look in the mirror, I don’t see myself

When I look in the mirror I see a girl

I recognize her, and yet she seems so unfamiliar

Sometimes I cry with her, I can’t look at her, too unfamiliar yet too familiar all the same

Sometimes I’m angry at her, I want to shout at her for being in the mirror, replacing my own reflection

Sometimes I’m frustrated with her, want her to go away, why can’t she just go away?

And yet

Sometimes I sing with her, loudly and not too well but we still have fun

I’m there when I look at my jawline and realize that it looks sharper than I thought it looked

I’m there when I look at my hair which is long yet still a part of me and not her

There are not many parts of myself in the mirror, not enough to piece myself together, but there are still parts of me

As a trans individual, it is almost a given that as soon as you reveal yourself, your body will always be under constant scrutiny. Trans bodies will always be viewed as a part of the binary. Our conscious thought on gender and how we want to be perceived as by the “others” would never make sense for those that don’t understand what it feels like to be us. At the end of the day, we’ll only be a non-binary girl or a non-binary boy. 

I understand that for individuals that have the pleasure to identify with the same gender assigned by a doctor have no way to be able to understand what it feels like to be us. But, wouldn’t it be nice for “others” to just accept us as is. Every single human being, no matter what pessimists and realists might argue, are unique and special. No matter how much society tries to beat down the idea that we’re all the same, I don’t think it’s true. My experiences and another’s will be similar, yes, but that does not mean that we are the same person. Who cares what other people say. This is what matters to me and if I’m not hurting others, then what’s wrong with the way I do it?

It feels like pulling teeth sometimes, having conversations with “others”. I feel like I’m talking to a child when I try to explain and yet I feel like I’m the child that’s trying to explain to them a make belief. I don’t want to feel empowered all the time, I want to be loved. I don’t want to be accepted by other people, because I believe that fundamentally, to accept is to understand. How can someone understand something as abstract as a human being’s identity? Hell, I don’t even know my own identity. 

I would like to be content. I would like for people to understand me sometimes. I would like people to always, always, love me no matter what. I am a hopeless romantic until the day I die and my Mr. Darcy is the kindness of humanity. Maybe there’s a reason that Jane Austen died alone.

Being Trans is Like...

Being trans is like being in a friend group where you just don’t belong. You try to join in on conversation, but you feel awkward and embarrassed. You look longingly to other groups where everyone is happy and they all feel comfortable and fit in. You wish for this, and watching them creates a tight pain in your chest. You look to this one group and they’re your type of people and they talk about things you can totally relate to, but they seem too distant to ever confront. You give up on ever feeling comfortable, so you make do with what you have, but it’s never right. Until one day, you meet someone and they invite you into the group you’ve been watching. At first, you feel reluctant and guilty to be leaving your original group, but you take your courage and go. It’s a bit awkward at first, but you slowly relax and start to feel like you belong. You join in on conversation smoothly and can relate to everyone else. Even though you came from a different group and are new, you are accepted and you are happy.

Life is like...

Life is like the road. Everyone’s heading somewhere. Some know exactly and some are just cruising, some people have the same goal but different ways of getting there, some need help navigating and some manage alone. And when you get to your destination, you’ll need to compete for parking. And sometimes there’s that precious moment when there’s no one around, no one behind you to nag, and you can take it slow and really think about where you’re going. You can make pit stops, but you’re ultimately heading somewhere. But most of the time it’s all quick decisions that push people to make risky choices. Some people get carsick, some day dream, others are focused, and some just enjoy the ride. There are so many different roads and destinations that no experience is the same.

I am truly back this time!!! After a long time to think and finishing up school my head is clear enough to write again. I have realized that writing about only Eddie on here was draining. As much as I love the joy it brought to a community of lgbtqia+(mainly trans masculine) members who also liked to read fanfics, and not just straight women, I have found new muses in writing. You can check my pinned post to see who I now write for some are still there some are gone. I also feel like there is to much controversy and negative energy coming from a-lot of the Stranger Things community and I don’t want to do anything to fuel that territorial fight, its toxic.
