The reason I have decided to share this au after all this time is because I have finally decided to do something with it. I'm in the early works of my first fanfic. I'm going to post it on Wattpad and maybe ao3 and it will be a multiple chapter story.
After ten years Brandon has finally found a way to bring his brother back but after all this time how will the people that grieved him learn to live with him again.
For her pre-s5 outfit I kept it relatively the same as the canon maid outfit, just got rid of the apron — I imagine she'd still wear it sometimes but not all the time. Gave her a corset because that was the common way to support your bust before bras were a thing, and seeing as she was poor it made more sense for her to dress in somewhat older fashion. I made the dress she wore duller and darker to convey her situation a little better. Decided to have her hair be in braids, a relatively conservative hairstyle that largely hides the checker pattern in her hair. She doesn't wear shoes, mainly because she physically can't, so the dress is long in an attempt to hide her hand-feet; she's trying to look human and hide her changeling characteristics. This is also seen in her leaf-ears facing downwards, being partially hidden by her bangs. Flurry has horrific eye bags from overworking herself.
I had a lot of fun designing Flurry's s5 design I'm gonna be real lol. I took a lot of inspiration from actual jesters while trying to make it colourful and chaotic to convey Flurry's personality. She has light in her eyes !!! Yay. This definitely means Flurry is mentally well (sarcasm). Something I've wanted to do is give her pretty face paint, she has pink heart cheeks (that change when she's in a Dice Form) and a spade symbol on her lips. The checker pattern is now much more visible in her hair, specifically the "bottom parts", don't ask me how it works I don't know. She's wearing a layered corset (light blue + lilac) for extra support for all her physical tricks and gymnastics. I wanted to make her outfit as colourful as possible, while still keeping it relatively pastel. The only deviation from this is the blue collar (because I couldn't decide on a better colour). The dark pink balls are supposed to be shiny like the ones in her pre-s5 attire, I just didn't render it lol. She still has hand feet and a hand tail, I was debating making the tail fluffy (like how it is in a few Dice Forms) but went against it. Ultimately, Flurry is a changeling who has very limited control over her appearance, so she often fluctuates depending on her mood, even outside of Dice Forms. Another thing I didn't render (IM SORRY) is her body hair, my girl doesn't shave and I love her for it 💜.
Lastly, her Dice Forms. I am unsure if they were given an explanation within the series as to why they even exist. But knowing what SirCutieYuki has done I doubt it didn't have some ulterior motive. Is all I'll say on that. In my rewrite, the reason why Flurry's Dice Forms exist is due to her lack of control of her changeling magic. She struggles a lot with emotional deregulation and that was visible within her physical appearance. She found that using dice to "control" how she felt at a certain moment helped ground her, even if it sent her into a form where she had less mental capabilities. (Think: age regression) So she developed six "Dice Forms" that she'd transform into to channel her emotions and energy. Eventually these Dice Forms became more than just a means of emotional regulation, but also as a means to channel a certain Magic she can access solely within these forms.
Dice Roll One / Apple: I largely kept the apple design the same, just gave it a few more details and made it less "minecraft-y". This is her "down on her luck" form, she can use no Magic while in it.
Dice Roll Two / Fire: Flurry is able to use fire Magic within this form. However, she is at a disadvantage due to being reduced to the form of a young changeling. She can't speak in this form, as she doesn't have a mouth; she breathes through her leaf-ears in this form. She has a small, three-pronged pink tail and leaf-hair. She only wears a cloth in this form because while Flurry refers to herself as a woman she is technically genderless, also that is a young changeling child.
Dice Roll Three / Water: Flurry is able to use water Magic within this form. However, despite now having a mouth, she still cannot speak, and needs to be submerged in water every hour to not dry out. She has blue gills and fins, with the same blue skin-thing in-between her leaf-ears and hands. Her tail is a fin. Flurry's hair is slightly less leaf-like in this form. She has a drop symbol of a water drop on her cheeks and forehead.
Dice Roll Four / Earth: Flurry is able to use earth Magic within this form. She can speak in this form, however she is incredibly and uncontrollably skittish and quick to run away. She is also sensitive to bright lights. She is furry in this form, with a green gradient on the end of her fur and ears, her tail is also fluffy now. Flurry's hair is almost completely non-leaves now, she also has horns and green claws. She has clubs on her cheeks and a spade on her forehead.
Dice Roll Five / Light: Flurry is able to use light Magic within this form. She has the most herself in this form. However, that doesn't necessarily mean she's in control, the Light Dice Form is unattached and is a type of dissociative state for her. It is arguably the most human looking of the Dice Forms. Her hair has the checker pattern and is curled in a bun, covering one of her eyes. This symbolises nothing. Her tail finally has a hand, with yellow fur and pads. This is the only form where she has more than five limbs (the wings). This is also the only form where she has abnormal pupils (stars). She has a heart on her lips, diamonds on her cheeks and a star on her forehead. Her ears are more similar to feathers than leaves here.
Dice Roll Six / Dark: Flurry is able to use dark Magic within this form. She has basically no control of herself in this form, she nicknames it "The Snitch" for how often it has revealed secrets. She is vengeful within this form, going after whoever has slighted her no matter how small the situation. It is the most clown-like out of all the Dice Forms. Her claws are so long that they poke through her gloves. Her hair fades to the darker checker colour in this form and is loose and unruly. Her hand-tail has purple fur and has claws like her hands.
Hmm these are kinds just descriptions but my brian is friend ok this has been something I've been meaning to make a full post about for so long rgrggfrjrh I'm so frustrated.
I intended to fully render the second full body art of her s5 attire but I just could not be bothered at this point I might do it at a later date and update this with it but that won't be fore another while ok? Ok. Also this, out of all of my official redesigns, has the highest possibility of being changed in the future cause NGL I'm a little unhappy with the Dice Forms but I'm Not Drawing Them Again. Okbye
Flurry is the guild leader with Yamitsu as her second in command. They have been married 6 years and have a 4 year old girl named meron. Cecil and Juno are still in the guild of course. Oakley has been considering joining Divinus but stays in the carnival for his mom. Damien is in la carnival but mostly just as a performer. Lara was convinced by Devin to join La carnival to really embrace her dancing, she also joined to stay close to Oakley. when Lara joined the carnival she moved her post office business into the city.
