i hate hate HATE ignorant takes like this. yall act like you’re a fly on the wall when luke newton sits down with his agent for career strategy meetings. you don’t know SHIT. you’re making these “good faith” assumptions out of thin air bc none of you know what luke even wants in his career.
and calling bridgerton his “peak” is laughable. bridgerton squandered his potential, if anything. the writing did him dirty, the marketing shoved him into the background, and people really want to act like that was the height of his career?? be serious. if you think s3 positioned him like other leads (johnny bailey, etc.), you are straight up delusional. he’s still climbing. his “peak” hasn’t even hit yet.
also?? the man has adhd. he dedicated like three years of his life to one massive project. maybe, just MAYBE, he wanted to breathe, take a break, spend time with loved ones, and exist as a human being for a sec. if that bothers you, log off. this “wasted limelight” nonsense is exhausting. you have NO IDEA what he was doing behind the scenes. this industry is brutal, and life doesn’t move on your fandom timeline.
and house of mcqueen wasn’t “critically panned,” but even if it was, he said he wanted different, challenging projects. and guess what? he’s doing that. he’s booked a musical animation, a dramatic play, and a sci-fi film. that’s RANGE. that’s growth. that’s success by his own standards, which is the only standard that matters.
i swear some of you just want him to be the next james bond or clutch an oscar so you can slap a shiny label on him like “see he made it!!!” and it’s insane. not everyone wants that trajectory, and that doesn’t make their career worthless. he’s building something sustainable on his own terms. let him breathe, let him work, and stop projecting your fantasies onto him.
