Bruce Banner, who has learned that he has a stress issue, has learned to knit. Not a lot of people actually know about his hobby, for the professor with 7 PhD’s shouldn’t be seen with knitting needles in his hands.

Yet somehow, the crafty hobby helps him keep grounded: when things are too overwhelming for him and he can feel the Hulk pushing through the barriers of consciousness, the simple repeating clinks of the knitting needles against each other is enough to keep him calm.

He has several scarves hanging in his closet that he’s knit in moments of anguish, and he can recall exactly which parts of each scarf he knit when - it’s a reminder for him that he needs to keep in control at all times.

1. How long ago did you start reading fanfiction? Writing fanfiction?

i started reading fanfic probablyyyy 14 or 15 years ago. My sister had given me her old laptop and she had left a couple of her stuff and some fic she had downloaded on it so i read them even tho i didn’t know the fandoms really well and i had no idea who most of the characters were.

i started writing fanfic i think 12 or 13 years ago. i don’t remember exactly when i started writing or publishing.

3. Are there any fics that inspired you to write what you do?

well, i have a couple of absolute fav fics (like anyone else i guess), but i can’t say that they actually inspired me to write. like i admire the prose and the plot and the characterizations of these fics but i usually find inspiration in the canon material, or in unrelated movie plots, or in situations from my actual life.

6. How do you find new fic to read? Where do you primarily read fanfiction?

i go to ao3, i type the pairing in the search window, i filter for english fics and then i go through all the pages, opening the fics that looks promising on new tabs. then i read.

9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.

well it’s actually kinda hard to figure out because i’m not super involved in fandoms anymore and i don’t know if the authors i love are well known or not. so, yeah, sorry x)

10. What’s your favorite fandom, pairing, or character to read fic for?

at the moment i’m very much back on my rogue one bullshit, but i’m also obsessed with fdtd. i’m also still very much into kastle and leverage. i used to be super into other star wars stuff, dghda, the magicians, captain america and wynonna earp but not that much anymore.

12. What’s your favorite title you’ve come up with and why?

i don’t really come up with titles tbh i just look up the lyrics of the songs i’m listening in repeat at the moment i’m writing a particular fic and see what fits best. 

my current favorite title is for a fic i haven’t started publishing yet and it’s a 5+1 fics whose working title used to be “whump fest”. now it’s “you gotta love all the pain” 

13. Do you outline your fics? How much of a headache would someone get if they just looked at an outline of yours without reading the fic?

hahahah i’m 99% a pantser. i sort of know where i’m going but i very veeeery rarely outline my fic. out of all my wips, i’ve currently outlined only two and i can tell you that if anyone look at those outlines, they might think i wrote them while being high on LSD and having a stroke at the same time.

16. Do you research for your fics? If so, how deep of a rabbit hole have you gone down by accident when researching?

i mostly research recovery times and medical stuff the most and usually i don’t fall into an endless rabbit hole. i did however got sucked into a youtube vortex while researching snowboard tricks for my snowboard au rogue one fic.

Librarian!au

-Okay but Clint Barton didn’t mean to like, own a library. It kind of happens like his building: he’s doing some superheroing on his own time, he takes down some shady people, and suddenly he owns a fucking library? He just wanted to make sure the place Simone took her kids after school and on weekends was safe and supervillain-free, you know? 

-But then all of a sudden he keeps getting letters and memos about the library and he’s like: why. Are they just so grateful he saved them from bad guys? Is he on the donor list now? He can make a donation he has like money now. But then he needs to sign for something? And this irate librarian shows up on his doorstep shouting at him about funding and the importance of early reading intervention and language development and how he has to sign and he does 50% out of fear and 50% because that librarian guy is really cute.

-Phil Coulson is the head librarian of the Bedstuy Library and has been fighting to legally take down the freaking supervillian mob who used his library as a front and then this fucking Avenger came in and ruined the whole operation and pissed off the FBI but apparently got rid of the problem only now he owns the library? (At least it’s not Tony Stark.)

-Clint apologises because he didn’t realise he was actually responsible for this now, he just thought it was to be nice, here let him sign that and also how can he sign the library over to Phil ASAP because paperwork scares him and also would Phil like to go out to dinner.

-Phil’s library 100% has drag queen reading hour and it is fabulous. After he and Clint start dating, they also have Avenger Reading Hour. (Natasha is everyone’s favourite.)

Bucky Barnes: most heartbreaking moment?

Hmmm…It was pretty fucking devastating when a boy first broke up with me, even though the circumstances were whacky at best. Still it was my first experience with love (or, with what I assumed was love, even though it really was more of obsession than a genuine and healthy emotion), I let it ruin me for literally years. So ceah, that was pretty bad - in retrospect, especially the way I let myself wallow in my mysery for so long :)

Valkyrie: favorite director?

I really wanna say the Russos because CA:TWS is a masterpiece and my fave, but I can’t, because they ruined it with CA:CW… and a bit with IW too.Anyway, I always found this question a little unfair, because while we talk a lot about directors, I think the films are more dependant of their screenwriters than their directors. I genuinely can’t think of a good film that has bad writers, while I can come up with great stories that are still good movies under a not-so-stellar director.

Pepper Potts: top 3 fave characters

Oh come on, I won’t surprise anyone, will I? :D Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers, Tony Stark.

Nakia: character you wish had a bigger role?

Bucky! Natasha! (Fingers crossed for her solo movie!) Pepper! Darcy! Maria Hill! MANTIS! SHARON! All the girls, really. MCU does dirty to them, always.

Natasha Romanoff: favorite ass kicking scene?

Noooo, that is a cruel, cruel question. But the highway fight scene in CA:TWS still takes my breath away, after the umpteenth time still.

Gamora: favorite pairing?

Stuckony. I know, it’s OT3 and not pairing, but I refuse to choose between Stucky and Winteriron.

Mantis: what do you think will happen in Avengers 4?

I wish I knew, pal! I have hopes, and I have a terrible conviction that they won’t ever be met. At this point I just pray with every fiber in my body to not kill my faves. (And bring back my other faves, but you know, that’s kind of a given so… at least I really really hope so.)

Shuri: most rewatched movie?

Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Aunt May: most painful death?

When Bucky desintegrated in IW, I let out a quiet, shaky “no,” and then screamed a loud “FUCK YOU! NOOOOOO!” at the screen, if I remember correctly. I’m not sure because I was so shocked. And even though I know it won’t stick, I’m still not over it. It took me a rewatch the next day to actually process the other deaths too, but Bucky… my Bucky. I was so not ready.

Okoye: which movies did you see in cinema?

I was late into the party. My first MCU movie that I watched in theatre was Avengers: Age of Ultron… I saw everything after that, and everything on premier day or before that since CA:CW.

Maria Hill: favorite special credits?

I have a love/hate relationship with most of the credit scenes (see: Bucky in the museum, Bucky in Wakanda, etc.), my unproblematic fave is probably the schwarma scene.

Wanda Maximoff: favorite relationship of the actors?

Chris E. & RDJ are literally the cutest and the biggest stony shippers, I love them. Seb & Mackie are real troublemakers, I stan a healthy male/male friendship. Chris Evans & Hemsworth are also precious. However I wish the actresses would get the spotlight for once - as I thought about this question, I relized how little I know about their on-set relationships…

Nebula: favorite minor character?

What counts as minor?I’d probably say Mantis, Nebula, Okoye, Shuri, Pepper, Darcy, Natasha, Bucky… :)

Hope Van Dyne: expectations for ‘Captain Marvel’?

It will be epic, it will rock my world and I’ll have a new fave among the MCU ranks. At least I hope so.

Peggy Carter: Hulk or Banner?

Banner. I like his sass and how Done he is.

Michelle Jones: would you like a Black Widow movie?

Yespleasethankyou. Preferably tomorrow, preferably exploring Buckynat and Clintahsa more. Preferably, for once, the boys will be the support roles to my queen.

Jane Foster: favorite character development?

Probably Tony Stark, because he is the only one who really got a consistent character development. All the other characterizations were sacrificed at least once, but often even more times, for the sake of plot.I’m also really proud of my boy Bucky but that was less happening on screen and more implying without actual explanation (also he was 90% plot device in all three films and only Sebastian Stan’s superior acting turned him into the main attraction), so I can’t nominate him.

AskClint Barton: Clint hates the fucking ocean. Do you even know what’s down there? He sure doesn’t. Plus it’s gross and salty and fish pee in it all day. No Thanks.

Bucky Barnes: He will absolutely fight you about the inconsistencies of any scifi novel you give him. It doesn’t even have to be real science, it just has to be consistent. That’s all he asks.

Steve Rogers: Dark chocolate is his favorite sweet in the whole entire world. There are others that have nostalgic value, but just on flavor, dark chocolate wins. The darker the better. (Bucky used to hate it, but since he came back, he super hates it. And Steve. Fuck you, Steve, I can’t believe I ever trusted you. I am never believing anything you ever say ever again about flavor because clearly you have no taste.)

T'Challa: Once, when he was younger, he sarcastically told a foreign dignitary that the scar above his left hip was from a rhino. He deeply regrets this now, as that dignitary still brings it up like 10 years later and it’s super awkward because he can’t exactly say that he lied, but he’s really worried someone’s going to overhear one day and call him out on it. Okoye enjoys his pain and mocks him for it every time. (It is not from a rhino. It is from falling out of a very tall tree when he was training as a boy. What kind of idiot thinks that facing off against a charging rhino results in a two inch scratch at your hip?)

Shuri: Shuri Super Does Not Like Birds. They’re sneaky little devils that will peck your face off and steal your lunch if given the chance. (T'Challa thinks of Shuri whenever he looks at Sam Wilson’s suit. It’s hilarious and he really wants to introduce them to see what she does.)

Laura Barton: Mornings are objectively The Worst. She has adapted to living on a farm and being a mom and in general living a life that requires early mornings, but her ideal morning starts at like 11.

Loki: Loki gets migraines very easily. He’s not sure why, and the healers all assure him that it’s not signs of something bigger. He just gets migraines very easily. (He has an anti-migraine spell that works like 80% of the time)

Thor: Thor learned braids from his mother- one of the few things that he shared with her that Loki did not was her soft, blonde hair. When he braids his hair, he remembers her gentle fingers and her songs of Vanaheimr. (He is Really upset about his new haircut.)

Valkyrie: She has a lucky rock she carries around. It’s not actually really lucky. She has no fucking clue why she has it. It’s literally just a blue rock that she found in the trash pits once. It’s really smooth.

Bruce Banner: He took three classes from one professor and never learned the man’s name. He was always just ‘that one professor with the glasses’. He still thinks it’s funny and he wonders from time to time if he could find out if he tried. (Tony would probably help him if he asked, but Tony would also mock him for it, so maybe not.)

Oh man I wanna know who you sent this to, I bet I know them :D I BET THEY WERE AMUSED. 

People totally ship Clint with T’Challa. It started out as a weird niche ship when he visited Wakanda on a diplomatic junket, and just sort of spiralled from there. I’m pretty sure in at least one chapter of the fic I wrote myself writing Clint/T’Challa fic as a cameo. :D 

There’s also a small set of writers who ship President Barton/Secretary Stark but they’re all weirdos.
