The people who name rocks are sooooo boring
Like "oh we found this new beauty of nature what should we name it?" "Oh just name it after its color/composition/who discoreved it/where it was discovered"
So boring, we could have tyranossaurusrexite, herculesite, mothite, strengthium. But nooOOoo, we need to another mineral named after a guy who's lastname is Smith!
The biologists get to have fun with naming their species why don't the geologists????? come on
i literally have no idea how to start this fic,,, why is this so hard jsdjfhdjhi
WHAT EVEN IS ASTHMA?
People underestimate the debilitating affect of asthma, it can be extremely time-consuming and frustrating to those suffering on a daily basis.
What is it? Asthma is a long-term, common lung condition which can be triggered by various things, resulting in difficulties breathing efficiently. An experience of obstructed breathing is initiated when the smooth muscles of the bronchioles, becomes constricted due to excess mucus secretion or inflammation. It’s not curable!
Types of asthma:
Nocturnal asthma (affects the important sleep/wake cycles)
Exercise-induced asthma
Seasonal asthma
Allergic asthma
Occupational asthma
Cough-variant asthma
How can I get help for my asthma? Getting help is important to learn how to manage asthma, depending on the frequency and severity of your asthma. Medical practitioners can diagnose asthma and help you effectively manage this change in lifestyle, it may be hard at first. Organisations such as ‘Asthma Australia’ and ‘National Asthma Council’ offer support services and extensive information for asthmatics, as well as their families.

Learning the hard way.
This past week I had two tests, one for Concrete 1 and one for Structural Analisis 2. My study partner and I had began studying like 2-3 weeks before the tests, because for concrete we had to make a program on mathcad that we would be able to use in the test (several different situations like one program to design a rectangular section beam both single and doubly reinforced, and also to design T section beams).
We were more than prepared for both exams. The afternoon before each test him and I were ready while a lot of people were still learning the material yet, so we were basically like tutors because everyone was asking us questions. We were set.
The structural analisis test went fine, I probably won’t get a 90, cz i bombed one question, but i definitely got a high enough grade to atleast be a little satisfied. Still could have done better though.
The problem is the Concrete test. My study buddy and i REALLY REALLY REALLY prepared for that test. I don’t think I’ve ever studied that hard and long before for one test. but the problem is, we never really went out of the box. The test had 4 problems. none of them particularly long but you had to be used to the kind of problem. Out of the 4 questions, i only had time to do 3. my study buddy did two, and from what my other friends and the smart people in the class said, they also only did 2/3 problems.
It’s fustrating when you know HOW to do the problems on the test, you could have gotten a 100 but because you weren’t fast enough you didn’t.
My study buddy and I already decided that we’re gonna start timing ourselves while we do problems so that we can improve our time. WE’LL GET IT NEXT TIME :)
I guess the lesson here is like the saying goes: Work smarter not harder.
i need to get up early tomorrow because my fiancé and i are doing a 12 hour writeathon. alas. i literally physically cannot sleep. why.
I’m finally home after spending Christmas with family in London… Thank god!! Glad to be home. Especially considering the last words my nan said to me as we were saying goodbye were
“Now next time I see you, I want you to come to me looking more slender.”
FUCK. IT. 😡😥😭😖
