Hi I just wanted to say thank you for your blog!

It was the first queer-elder-(I am so sorry you are only like 30)-run blog to make it across my dashboard and I just wanted to let you know that I have pack-bonded with it. Uh yeah, old(er) queers have never really been something that's visible in my life, so thank you for your service! (random posts about Grindr)

I want you to know that this ask made me cry in the best way.

I have never really had any elder queers in my life - the AIDs epidemic and things like Section 28 keeping people closeted saw to it that many people older than me in the queer community either never feel they can come out or died from AIDs in the 80s and 90s. - so to be able to becoming an elder queer myself, well, that's just lovely. I WANT younger people to look up to me and think 'yeah if they can do it then I can live authentically too'.

I know I'm only 32 but to younger folks I realise that seems a world away, so I'm not offended at all! On the contrary, I embrace being a bit older in the queer community with both hands. If I can enhance someone's life by being that visible slightly older queer dude? Then that just makes me feel all warm n fuzzy.

You are always welcome here anon, as are any other younger queer folks who want to hang out with me in this weird little space we've carved out for ourselves. I love you <3
