Looking at this one makes me cold.
*gabreil and Azria arguing about Earth for the millionth time*
G: Azerafel, the Earth and it’s the inhabitants are just there as place markers for us! We don’t need them!
A: You’re wrong, Gabreil. God may not talk to us much anymore, but when they created Adam and Eve, they told me that it’s imperative I watch over them, for they are something more beautiful then they ever thought they could create.
G: Azerafel, that was before they were tempted by the demon Crowley. They were swayed by the demon, and cast into a world of torment.
A: Torment! Why...maybe at the time, but those two laid the ground work for a beautiful world. Gabreil, you’ve been up here too long, you’ve forgotten that our duty is to be caretakers for them, not their undoing.
G: You’re stepping to far out of line, Azerafel, watch yourself before something bad happens
*gabreil walks away*
A: I’d rather something awful happen to me then for something bad to happen to the lives we helped form down there...
*It is said time and time again, that God is listening to everything, for there is something to take in every word man speaks. And that was true today, for God heard an angel speak their mind, and remember and old promise that many had forgotten. God does not weep, but if they could, they would out of happiness.*
No one can convince me that Gabriel and Lucifer weren't the best brothers
Think about it, we first meet Gabe, it's all about the tricks
The second time, it's about him being tired of his family arguing, his tricks not hiding how he feels
When he dies, his tricks have failed entirely, Lucifer kills him right after taking the time to say "don't you forget you learned all your tricks from me, little brother"
Of all the angels, Lucifer is the most sad about Gabriel. Rember his face? Lucifer looks guenuinly sad and lost for the first time that we see him.
And when Luci stabs him, Gabe looks betrayed
Gabe didn't think Luci would try and kill him, he really cared for his big brother, thought he was the best until he rebelled. And still felt sympathy for him even after, even though he constantly played it off "You're my brother, and I love you, but you're a great big bag of dicks"
And Luci knows! "Watch your tone" he warns Gabe
He doesn't want his little brother to feel hatred, because that all thats kept him going for millennia, and he doesn't want that pit burning in Gabe's stomach as well
Gabriel and Lucifer were best friends and best brothers, with Luci protecting and teaching Gabe everything he knew
And no one can convince me otherwise
Edit: HOLY FUCK GABE'S ALIVE SEASON 13 YOU JUST MADE ME REMBER THIS POST AND NOW IM SAD BECAUSE ITS REVERSED NOW...
SO NOW YOU ARE TELLING ME, THAT GABRIEL IS GOING TO BE USED TO KILL LUCIFER. DO YOU REALISE WHAT THIS DOES BECAUSE IM GOING TO E X P L O D E
Try again gabriel, Darren is already annoyed protected by a certain demon~
Strong Enough
Request: Maybe a one shot where Gabriel can hear your suicidal and depressive thoughts, and stops you right before you hurt yourself? Sorry it’s so dark. Just having a really hard time rn. Thank you! -Anon
Word Count: 1k
Warnings: ANGST, suicidal thoughts, mention of self harm, mention of self hate, attempted suicide, explanation of depression, real truth to people’s thoughts
A/N: This is the most depressing piece I have ever written, but it needed to be said. I really do recommend reading this, but please please please read all the way to the end. I feel like this is also the most relatable piece I have ever written. I know that we might not have a guardian angel to hold us, but we do have someone who loves you. And if you don’t believe that, then let me prove you wrong by speaking the truth: I love you, and so does everyone on this blog.
I kept it short, so please do read it, but do read to the end- it’s worth it.
“What’s wrong, brother?” Cas asked to Gabriel as he saw him trying to hide a tear.
Gabe wiped his eyes. “It’s Y/N. She’s just… she’s so sad.”
“I’m sorry,” Cas said simply.
“I can hear her thoughts, Cas. Every one and she’s just so sad.” He pushed the plate back and looked away from Cas. “I don’t know what to do, brother. I love her so much, she’s just so perfect, but Y/N hates herself.”
Cas never really had any experience with making humans happy, so he said the first solution would come to anyone’s mind. “Have you tried talking to her?”
“She doesn’t believe me,” Gabe answered honestly. He stood from the chair and starting walking around the bunker kitchen, listening to your thoughts. He couldn’t turn them off, even if he wanted to. “Her cries are so loud, and yet I feel I might be the only one hearing them.”
“I can hear them too.”
“No, Cas.” Gabe tried to think of how to word this. “I mean the way she talks about herself. How much hate she has towards her beautiful appearance. And the way she cries when nobody’s looking. How she always hides what’s shattered endlessly on her arms and wrists; words screaming out for someone to see. And the way she never thinks she’s good enough. I’m not just talking about her thoughts, brother, I’m talking about how she screams her misery each and every day yet no one sees it.”
Cas only looked speechless at Gabriel, unable to think of anything else to say.
So Gabe continued, “She has a family who loves her, the brothers that would go to Hell and back just to make her happy, and me, who will always be there for her until the end of days. And she is still so sad.”
“You should talk to her,” Cas said after a moment of silence. “Tell her what you just told me.”
“She’d say she’s sorry,” Gabe whimpered as he looked down. “She thinks it’s her fault she’s sad. She thinks she needs to hide more so people don’t have to feel bad for her. And worse of all, she thinks I shouldn’t worry.” Gabe then looked at Cas and almost cried, “Brother, what do I do?”
Cas had no answer. “I don’t know. What do you want to do?”
“I want to scoop her up into my arms and take away all her suffering. I want to just be able to touch her and heal all her wounds. I want to shelter her from all the darkness in her life. I want her to be able to love herself just as much as I love her…” Gabe looked off to nowhere except your mind. “But I don’t feel like I can. I don’t know how, Cas.”
Both angels looked down, both seeing their helplessness.
“I just love her too much to see her hate herself like this, I can’t stand it.”
Maybe after a minute of silence went by, a single tear fell from Gabriel’s eye as your thoughts flashed through his head. “Oh God, Y/N, no…”
Gabe started to shake, almost as if he was frozen and about to burst into tears, but before Cas could ask, Gabe had vanished.
** ** **
Tears blurred your vision and depression blurred your thoughts. Your entire body shook, questioning what you were about to do as your mind screamed certain it was right. You went with what your thoughts pushed you to do, and raised the gun to your throat.
You screamed one last time, tears flooding everywhere, and pulled the trigger.
The gunshot rang through your eyes, muffling the sound of your cries and of the angel’s next to you.
“Y/N! Oh no, God… Y/N!” you started to hear as the ringing faded, and looked over to see Gabriel crying next to you, his hands on the gun and pointing it to your left.
You let go of the gun and he threw it to the side of your room. “Gabe…” you whimpered. You looked over to it now laying on the floor and started crying as you realized what you were about to do.
Gabriel pulled you into him and started rocking you while petting your hair. He began to cry with you, keeping you close to him. “It’s okay, Y/N,” he cried, “it’s okay. We’ll figure this out, together. I’m never leaving you, it’s okay.”
Gabe continued to rock you and rub your back until you calmed down a little. He then laid the both of you down on your bed. You wanted to sleep, you wanted to let go, but your cries didn’t stop and you never actually fell asleep that night, even with Gabe whispering you you.
“It will be okay, Y/N.”
** ** **
Gabriel took off the blindfold and allowed you to see the tattoo that now covered up the scares on your wrists. You started to cry with unbelievable happiness as the words read, “I Kept Fighting”.
“Oh, Gabe, thank you so much!” you exclaimed as you continue to stare at the words.
“No, sugarcube,” he replied. “Thank you.”
It had been one year since your incident. Gabriel and the brothers got you the help you needed, and although it was a long and painful process, you were there right then with the love of your life, showing the world you were strong enough.
You were there because people loved you and because you learned to love yourself. You were there because you wanted to be- a feeling you thought you would never have again.
You were there because you knew you weren’t alone, you knew to love yourself first, and you always kept fighting.

A/N: This fic was for the anon who requested it, but also for the part of me who has been screaming to get something out like this for as long as I’ve been writing.
So much of this reader insert has been relating to me, to get out the feelings that are crammed in my head but I feel like no one would understand- because God knows I don’t.
But what has kept me fighting in the end is really the fact that I am not alone. All my friends who kept me going and who kept me believing I was worth it.
Please, know that you are worth it too.
Bastille & Gabrielle Aplin’s Dreams
Every so often a truly unique cover crops up; the hauntingly original twist to Fleetwood Mac’s classic Dreams, created by Bastille and Gabrielle Aplin, is truly refreshing in this era of regurgitation. The clash of a South London urbanite, championing nu-age Indie, beautifully intertwined with hippy-chic, acoustic folk make for a memorable version of the repeatedly reinterpreted hit.
Stripping back the melody to a new electronic bass line creates a simple backdrop, upon which, Aplin takes lyrical persuasion to new heights and Bastille's fresh tones softly compliment. This is a fantastic platform to unleash Fleetwood Mac to a fresh audience and on which to celebrate the discord of two unique sounds producing a beautiful, futuristic spin on a masterful piece of music.
