Gendershift

Gendershift: A gender that has shifted or changed over time, whether that change be past present future, and whether it be a big or subtle change. People of this identities past gender identities were not incorrect, they were very much their actual gender at the time, but their gender has changed since then. This flag and label represents anyone who’s gender identity has undergone any sort of change.

The yellow tones at the bottom represent change, and the ability of gender to shift throughout ones lifetime. The pink stripes in the middle represent acceptance, and community founded around gender identity. The white stripe in the center red presents comfort in gender. The green stripes at the top in order from darkest to lightest represent feminine aligned genders, masculine aligned genders, and gender identities that fit in neither category.

  I find being genderfluid to be rather strange cause one second I’m one thing, then the next I’m another, and one minute I’ll have no dysphoria but the next I’ll have it. Or if I dress to better expression what gender I am I can have a gender shift and then just be like “Ah fuck now I’m stuck dressed like this until I can change.” My go-to, though, to avoid the clothing dilemma is just to wear hoodies or some shit or even overalls. (I fuckin love overalls though, so damn useful and comfy- hoodies too)

Thoughts before bed

Sometimes I wish my mother would call me son or her handsome boy. Sometimes I wish my dad wouldn't call me princess. Sometimes I wish I could change my body at will to be what I wish I could look like as a man. I wish I could talk to my parents about this and they'd understand and accept me, both sides of me, the daughter they raised and three son that went unnoticed for 23 years. The son that wants to be called by HIS name by HIS loving parents.

I'm 23 and fluid. I don't always recognize myself in the mirror on the days I am Z instead of E, worse when it's one of "those" weeks. I speak and I forget to deepen my voice and I hear a woman instead of a man. Sometimes I can deal with the shift in gender like it's a natural thing and some days I just want to sit on the floor and cry.

I can't be just one. I've tried that and it's the worst feeling in the world. It's like being torn in half or you feel like you're fighting yourself.

I hope genderfluid becomes as widely talked about as much as transgender. I hope I can have those conversations with my parents and get them to love and understand both sides of their only child. I hope someday fluidity is normal.

Self acceptance

Lately I’ve felt a lot more comfortable and secure with who I am, and I feel like a lot of that is due to being here. I see people freely expressing themselves without shame and I love it. I feel like a significant part of me accepting myself more is @wolfertinger666, seeing him freely be himself despite previous hate and societal norms felt kind of freeing for myself. I’m learning to love the parts of my body I didn’t before(body hair, how thin I am) and I’m starting to listen to myself instead of telling me I’m just wanting to be special and I’m not really trans. I AM trans, I can feel the shifts and recognize the places the gender sits at. I can choose not to wear clothes because it doesn’t feel right for the day, and i have a right to at least try being feminine. I can love and do things for myself without being vain. I have a right to be human and weird just like anyone else. The people of this site have opened my eyes to that. Thank you

one of my fav details in diaries of a spaceport janitor is that when you need to gendershift, the whole world gets ITCHY and mimics being overstimulated--

the graphics glitch out, get a little fuzzy and pixelated, your character starts walking at a sideways angle, and everything just feels WRONG until you can swallow a new gender shift chip

10 things I wish someone told me about genderfluidity part 2

1. If you are biologically female you may develop a male sex drive while keeping you're female stamina.

2. You may experience the type of orgasm that corresponds to whichever gender you identify as at that time. (It's happened a few times to me and it's weird)

3. There will be times where you may switch genders at random throughout the day.

4. Your views on things will change.

5. Surround yourself with people who care about you and will except you for you. (Life is to short to spend it with people who put you down)

6. You will find that both sides will develop their own personalities and preferences. (That's normal)

7. Shopping becomes more interesting (especially when you are feeling male but your mom makes you go dress shopping. Thanks mom 😧)

8. You'll notice your body language change depending on your gender identity.

9. It might be harder finding a significant other

10. Some people might think your genderfluidity is the first step to becoming trans. (This isn't true for everyone)

10 Things I wish someone told me about genderfluidity.

1. You will question your sanity

2. You will question your life up to that point. (especially if you've been taught to live one specific way)

3. It's like a second puberty (at least for me) you go through a second self discovery.

4. You will be uncomfortable in your body

5. You will experience disphorea...and it will suck ass

6. You may develop odd sensations of phantom parts (that's normal)

7. It will be hard to collect yourself at times cause feelings are a bitch.

8. You may feel like everyone is watching and judging you. Don't worry they're not.

9. It may be hard to explain to people how you're feeling or a given day.

10. For my biologically female people: you may freak out the first time you have your period on a "male" day. Just breathe this won't be the last time that'll happen.
