☕️- favorite passage

I come back to this story a lot, but when it alteration finds has some of my favorite prose I’ve ever written. It came out so organically and with such minimal editing, and I always reflect on this passage whenever I remember why I fell in love with Arya and Gendry as a romantic pairing: 

Love, love is another mystery altogether. One that had woven its way into her veins long before Arya knew what it was.

Love had been cold nights and hungry days. Love had been smoke and steel, and angry blue eyes beneath a mop of rich black hair book-ended with a scowl.

Love had seeped into her bones and settled there in a way that Arya hadn’t even noticed. It slipped past all her defenses and careful masks, cutting down all her fears and insecurities, and pushing its stubborn way through.

Almost like a bull charging into battle.

As an aside, this entire oneshot was inspired by @chasingforeverandaday‘s what if this storm ends?, which I highly, highly, highly recommend if you haven’t read.

👻- 2 or 3 sentences from something you haven’t posted yet

He met Arya Stark on a Wednesday. He remembers because that day had been too rainy for his and Willow’s usual lunchtime walk so they ended up in a cafe around the corner from his office.

He'd been on edge, mind elsewhere as he half-listened to Willow rant about a misogynistic coworker.

Maybe he’d known on some level that his life was about to change. Maybe he’d known that as soon as Arya walked into that cafe, shaking water out of her hair, and her gray eyes collided with his, nothing would ever the same again.

🎈- what’s a spoiler for a wip or series?

Ooof...this is a tough one. I’ve been teasing my Gendrya Big Bang quite a bit, and for those who are reading the excerpts, I’d like to warn ya that there’s a lot to Gendry’s past in that story that will come up in the second half. It’s different from what I’d normally write for him and I am excited to share.

💭- any ideas for a possible wip?

Re: the snippet I just shared for the non-posted wip, it’s a widower!Gendry AU that would just not leave my mind. It’ll be set in modern day Riverlands and feature architect!Gendry and music!journalist Arya. I’m very excited for it. :)
