ratchet is keenly assessing all the possible injuries that these creatures could have as he sits next to optimus, explaining the role of ligaments and muscles as optimus nods solemnly. ratchet learnt some organic biology & health and now he's showing it off a bit.
and shockwave, he probably already knew about them considering he had to do a lot of digging around earth to get predacon fossils so he's probably come across a fair share of other fossils. but he sees the t-rex and gets flashbacks of WFC/FOC where we find out how shockwave got his cannon arm :)
arachnid might have a morbid fascination, like "hm... that creature would've definitely looked good as one of my trophies..." and starscream, bumblebee and acree all look at her weird for 3 different reasons. "why would you want some filthy organic in your ship???" -> doesn't know about her trophies, "its unnecessary to do something like that" awe he cares about the animals, and arcee is just pure unfiltered contempt once she heard arachnids voice.

I never got around writing headcanons for my general Scarecrow and I figured it was about time :) As always thank you guys for reading my interpretations! I had the compulsion and I hope you guys enjoy.

Jonathan Crane was born loved to two young and unprepared parents. His father was heir to the family business, a local funeral home in a small southern town. His mother worked a town over as a server. They weren't married yet, but they were happy.
That is, until his father was killed in a hunting accident in the woods outside of town. Granny Crane insisted on getting custody of the child. It was apparent to Jon's mother that Granny would use her influence in the town to paint her as a harlot trying to get into their family for money. Being young and feeling trapped, his mother left town.
Being the result of a "filthy" coupling, religious Granny made sure young Jonathan Crane's life was a living hell. His meek grandfather merely stood by until his own death due to heart attack. Because of Granny's pull in the community, everyone would turn their face to the child's suffering.
At the age of six, Jonathan was tasked with assisting Granny with preparing his grandfather's corpse. He "needed to grow up."
At the age of ten, Jonathan was locked in a coffin for hours on end because he spoke back to Granny.
At the age of thirteen, Jonathan was forced to kneel and pray on broken glass because she caught him reading "Dracula."
Even as an adult there are still scars from the physical abuse along his face and body. It would continue until he got a scholarship for a four year university. On his way out, he made sure to leave the gas in the old heater of the funeral home leaking. May the old bat burn in hell.
As soon as he was in the city, he began to hide his natural southern accent. Too many people making assumptions about him through it. It still comes out when he's either angry, drunk, or very tired.
Even as a young adult, he was constantly picked at and mocked. He'd already survived hell. Now all he had to do what put his head down and work. Through years of dedicated study, he got a degree in psychology and became a well-respected and renowned professor of the subject. His specialty was in phobias.
However, he had to leave this position due to [Incident Redacted].
Prototype fear toxin in tow, Jonathan goes to what he knows. He opens and operates a funeral home. This serves as a perfect cover for his more... illegal works. The coffins serve an additional purpose of laundering money, chemicals for fear toxin, bodies, etc.
Several members of senior faculty at that college go missing. One is found when a body was exhumed during an unrelated incident. Autopsy revealed the professor had been buried alive in the coffin. Cause of death officially was a heart attack. The others were never found.
Related to his career, he drives a 1919 Sayers and Scovill hearse. Not all original parts and the paint job is faded to hell but it works for him. He can drive stick shift!
He has a pet crow named Dolly after the beautiful and incredibly talented Dolly Parton. She loves to sit perfectly still until people come too close and then scare them. She does an impression of Jonathan's mocking laugh when this happens. Also bird safe crunchy peanut butter :)
Until his identity eventually becomes public due to the nuisance that is Batman, Jonathan Crane is a funeral director by day, the Scarecrow by night.

Roughly around the time Oswald first took power in Gotham is when your café set up shop and officially opened.
He was your first big customer that caught the cities attention, but it was gradual, since his visits were discreet and quick. Quickly becoming a regular and coming in daily to just bask in your warm presence and even developing a small crush on you. His gay awakening.
Oswald always says that he'd happily have someone killed for you if you asked. Of course, being a normal citizen, you think he's joking. He's not.
The Penguin is always a gracious and respectful customer and even friendly when in a extra good mood, so you will have his support and protection for life.
Barbara would decide to give a little visit once your place starts gaining traction and notoriety.
At first, she scared you, and initially she found it funny and ampt up her unpredictability until she saw you had Penguin's protection. And also how, dare she say, adorable you are.
She'd reign herself in with her attitude but once you get used to her, she's fun to talk and gossip with. Barbara wouldn't be a regular, she'd probably pop in once or twice a month but her visits are always eventful.
Next will be Butch; who usually shows up mainly with Oswald until the drama and badblood and eventful started showing up with Tabitha instead. Initially she didn't care, especially since you seemed to be all buddy-buddy with Oswald, so she doesn't trust you.
Butch eventually convinced her to order at least one coffee and a snack from your menu. Much to her annoyance, she really liked them.
Tabitha visits sparingly like Barbara but Butch becomes a regular, so when he and Oswald run into each other, it's kinda tense. The first time it happened, a fight almost broke out, only to quickly stop when they remembered where they are and who's establiment it is.
Now, Edward started to visit and order from you as soon as he became Chief of Staff. When he worked in the GCPD he wanted to but saw no need since he could always conveniently get coffee in the prescient. When Oswald is mayor, he isn't able to visit as often, so Nygma took it upon himself to get Oswald and even himself some coffee and the occasional pastry.
Don't be surprised when the man starts shooting riddles at you with every visit. He won't mind if you can't answer them but he would be ecstatic if you attempted at all. If so, he'd be another daily regular, coming in any chance he gets to ask a riddle that the answer will more than not be his order for what he wants. Usually trying out multiple things until deciding on one he really likes and will end up being his usual, every single time.
Riddler will be a tricky one, especially after the events of Isabella. He wouldn't be as nice as Ed, he'd be a lot sassier and mean to you, maybe even be downright cruel until Ed starts to make him get to know you.
Riddler's riddles would be a lot harder and more tricky to trip you up. Maybe even impressed you answered at least one right.
Just like Edward, Riddler will try a few different things until picking something out to make it his usual order everytime. He doesn't get attached to you like how Ed is, but he does care to an extent and will probably visit once and a while to give you a card for your birthday or some other special occasion.
Dr. Strange is a no-no for me.
Ivy, Freeze, and Firefly would come in to order when they are under Oswald's wing (pun intended). Ivy would absolutely be the nicest and sweetest one, ordering something new everytime she comes in but once she does try everything she'll always tell you "Surprise me!" And gifts you some indoor potted plants for you to take care of.
Of course, Freeze will always order either your iced coffees and Frappuccinos. He almost never orders any of your hot drinks, very rarely will he do so. He comes infrequently, when he does its usually with Ivy because she usually wants someone to go with her.
Firefly is the opposite of Freeze in terms of her orders. She always orders any of your hot beverages and very rarely any of your cold ones and just like Freeze, comes infrequently.
