Hello, I’d like to hear your thoughts on advisary of king deshret. Personally, I really like them. They really do help liven up the atmosphere in this Archon quest; otherwise, it would be much more boring. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a perfectly decent quest, but there’s just something missing, isn’t there?
Thoth & co were so funny lmao. I’d say that they were pretty good at being both entertaining, and moving the plot along. And the banter between them was great.
Tbh, there were the occasional moment where i’d lowk start zoning out during dialogue. Like (and this is gonna be controversial) the conversations between Kaveh & Al Haitham. Look, i get the whole issue of it being a gacha game, and there being a certain level of stagnation to the characters.. but it was really annoying to see them having NOT had their relationship develop at all. Especially when paired against other characters! We got to see amazing development from Collei, Wanderer, jfc PAIMON. It was lowk annoying to see the same arguments between Kaveh & Al Haitham. Let them develop, seriously.
Sorry went on a tangent there.
Compared to Al Haitham & Kaveh, Thoth & Co’s banter was fresh. Mostly bc they were new characters, but also it just.. didnt feel as contrived ig?
Also I LOVED their designs. They look so good!
Im really hoping they show up again next time we’re in Sumeru. I am gonna miss the talking cat though. I love my talking cats.
And yeah, i agree. The quest is perfectly fine, but its just.. its just fine.
I think part of the issue is that there was a missing sense of urgency.
Compare it to last time we were facing Dottore. It seriously felt like we were on a time crunch.
Columbina was MIA, Traveler was kidnapped. Nod-Krai needed to be evacuated, Sandrone needed to figure out some way to get Columbina back, Wanderer, Albedo and Durin were busy getting Traveler back & figuring out what Dottore was up to. There were moments of conversation, there was banter, yes.. but the plot was still moving forward. Everything was for a reason.
But then in this new quest? Things just.. kinda seemed slow.
You’re telling me that whole quest was ONE night? Seriously?
The evacuation didnt feel as rushed, people kept getting off topix- hell, Paimon & Wanderer literally spent several hours on a spy. Just get rid of him! Irminsul is fucking tweaking!
That bit bothered me. Nahida & Irminsul are lowk dying, and we’re seriously doing a stake out? There had to be SOME other way to get Paimon & Wanderer off together for a conversation.
Hell, even in 6.0-6.2, theres a level of urgency that wasnt there in this one.
This quest.. it absolutely felt like it fit into Sumeru’s AQ line. It didnt mesh as well with tje Nod-Krai questline. It had to be, for plot reasons, but it just felt kinda outta place.
The quest has its issues. Its not a bad quest. It just.. it was lacking.
Theres also the fact that theres a level of built suspense that wasnt delivered on. Irminsul burning is something thats been built up to for years. And you’re telling me.. that there’s ultimately no consequences for it? None at all? Not even things changed by Irminsul being reverted?
Can you imagine how interesting it would have been for that? For people to remember Scaramouche, Rukkhadevhata, who knows what else?
Its just kinda.. subtly disappointing ig.
Im going to hold out hope for there to be consequences later on.
Its fine as is i’d say but.. they could’ve absolutely done the quest better, in multiple ways. My main personal gripe is totally the lack of urgency & genuine consequences though.
Thoth really likes hearing himself talk, huh?
