I was a big fan of this when it was first published, and now the late Anthony Bourdain’s violent, hilarious satire of food culture obsession gets its definitive collected edition. This includes both Get Jiro! and its prequel, Get Jiro: Blood and Sushi, plus an exclusive new cover and never-before-seen development art by the awesome Langdon Foss.
See what else is coming to your local comic shop this week!
Warner Bros. Animation, #CartoonNetwork Studios, and #HannaBarbera Studios Europe have confirmed their programming lineup for the Annecy International Animation Festival 2025, taking place from June 8 to 14. Highlights include the #AdultSwim adaptation of DC/Vertigo's #GetJiro! and Prime Video's Bat-Fam, which continues the story from Merry Little Batman. Cartoon Network Studios will also host a special 25th anniversary panel featuring industry legends like Genndy Tartakovsky, Craig McCracken, and Rebecca Sugar.
Additionally, Warner Bros. Animation will lead a "Studio Spotlight" presentation featuring previews, insights, and updates on the future of their animation projects across TV and streaming platforms.
In this world, chefs rule society — and diners will kill for a table.
Oh hey, someone actually mentioned this show as based on an Anthony Bourdain comic for once. :)
First look at Adult Swim's "Get Jiro!"
Based on the DC/Vertigo graphic novel, Get Jiro is set in a not-too-distant future Los Angeles where master chefs rule the town and people literally kill for a seat at the best restaurants. A mysterious sushi master named Jiro enters a bloody culinary war to craft his recipe for revenge.
June the 18th is International Sushi Day.
