He looks how I feel 😣😂 I just found out my application for an Arts Grant couldn't be processed as it lacks detail in a few areas, mainly my artistic project history (but I'm new!) and details of an exhibition space or gallery thats agreed to show my work (but I'm so new I can't secure it yet). The process is way more complicated than I expected. I shall step back, regroup, and see if I can find a way to provide what they need. Ever have a moment where you hear something come out of your mouth and think, “Wow, where did THAT come from??” I had a moment like that while talking to @michaelbroussard65 last night for the podcast. I’m usually listening for something quotable from my guest, but when we started talking about failure, this sentence popped out of my mouth, and we both said, “Wow, that’s really good!” The funny thing about it is that we all know failure can be a great learning experience, but I had never really considered before I said it how much we assume that learning experience has to come with an end. Our response to failure is almost always our choice. Obviously, if the guy in this photo broke a leg, that’s a little different—but barring that sort of situation, it’s OUR call whether our efforts end or not. Just something to consider as you go about your creative life. I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences with failure below! And if you need help overcoming one, I’m always here to help!
