My very first Carry On Exchange! Chapter One is up now!!!! For @adamarks I hope you like it, I went with the paranormal/supernatural prompt!
Hook & Ladder Company 8
This city block in the Spice District is home to a Book Shop, Pub, and Neighborhood Pizza joint. Oh yeah, there is also an old Firehouse on the corner that some oddballs who call themselves "Paranormal Investigators" now call home. Those guys seem a bit “dodgy” if you ask me. I’m not exactly sure what's going on at the Book Shop right now, but it seems to have caught the attention of the local TV News crew, and those oddballs from the old Firehouse are there as well. It might be worth checking out.
This month the lovely Cimbthabestb247 is hosting a NYC build challenge, and this build was my entry. The goal was to recreate something from one of the Five Boroughs of NYC in the Sim 4. I went a tiny bit “rogue” and recreated the iconic Hook & Ladder Company 8 Firehouse that was featured in that popular ghost something or other movie from the 80′s. I mean it’s in NYC right?
I had a lot of fun working on this build challenge, and trying to get it to look ‘just right” required a lot of time and effort.. This build features a full Firehouse residence for your ghost busting Sims, as well as a haunted book shop (with apartment), a bar, a pizza joint, and several empty apartments you can decorate to your hearts content. You can find the Hook & Ladder Company 8 build in my SimDoughnut gallery (userid: simdoughnut). This NoCC residential build sits on the 30x30 lot in the Spice District of San Myshuno. I hope you have as much fun telling “Ghost Busting” stories in your game with this build as I did creating it.
Have Fun :)!
Ok so about this ghost...
I work as a janitor and have to be alone in this store late at night. I also do prep for them so I'm often cutting things. This wouldn't be a problem if the place wasnt haunted. The back storage room was the center of this disturbance. Shadows would be seen walking into the closet, or walking towards the closet if the closet wasnt in sight.
Often enough I would have days where I felt breathing on my neck, or heard talking in that backroom after everyone had left. The freezer door would slam shut when I was no-where near it or I would see shimmering in the air like something was standing there watching me.
Other people had seen and felt things there. A friend of mine often felt this intense motivating fear from the storage closet. My manager often saw shadows.
I used salt to make a circle and summoned the elements. I asked them to cleanse the space and asked that they let their powers guard the doors from any negative energies. It worked with negative energy but didnt banish the entity.
I created a spell jar to trap the entity so I could take it outside and do a funeral rite for it there. I prayed to hades to take this spirit away from here. To no avail.
After my managers said I couldn't burn sage in the building, I tried a broom cleansing, sweeping away negativity and bringing in love behind. It worked to make my workplace full of love, but the entity was still there.
Finally, empowered by a bloodstone sphere that chose me. I scolded the spirit, "Why are you still here? If you fear the afterlife why? If you reincarnate you will have a new shot at life. If you cease existing you wont feel the pain you are in." I explained my views of hell and why I don't believe in it but I won't get into this here. I basically mothered this spirit because I was fucking TIRED of dealing with it. I mean this thing had even followed me home at one point only to be yanked back to the store bc of my protections at home.
After my little lecture....I felt nothing.
I came to work the next day...nothing.
The place's energy has completely balanced out now. No ghosts, no negative energy.
Apparently all the ghost needed was to be told off. My rant at this ghost was much longer than what ive written here, but it worked. So now I'm fairly certain I can just tell ghosts to fuck off if I say it right.
Now I've done this before with a different ghost but it was way less dramatic.
Anyway if anyone has any insight I'd love to hear it. Or if you have had similar experiences. I am by no means an expert at this, so any expert opinions would be held in high esteem.
Abandoned buildings just look so cool.

Advanced Lecture: Egoism and Power: The Feast of the Unique
“All things are nothing to me -- until they are mine.”
You must not ask whether power is good, just, or oppressive. That is spook-talk. That is the language of priests and progressives, of kings and revolutionaries. You, if you are egoist, must ask only:
“Is this mine?”
1. Power is Not Held, It Is Used
Power is not a throne you sit on. It is not a sword you wave. It is your capacity to shape the world according to your ownness: to bend, seduce, shatter, or seduce others as your appetite demands.
A general has power over soldiers. A poet has power over hearts. A child has power in their scream. A beggar may have more power than a king if they make others feel.
