I wanna toss stuff in on a, "stuff about ghosts" list.
I don't actually know how to do the communication in that format, though. So I'm gonna do it sideways.
In a Ramen shop in the Tower, there's a little platform shelf near the ceiling, maybe in a corner, where ghosts like to hang out while their guardians are nearby in the bazaar or eating.
Before the Red War, this was just a metal sheet placed in the rafters, but after it was rebuilt with intention, they put little shell stands and decorative items and a "carpet"
There's also little nooks and crannies where ghosts gather, some of which have been fashioned into actual hangout spots.
Certain guardians, and in fact living people, are known to be particularly helpful in the creation of these.
While there's only some ways ghosts can arrange to be at these places, there are still particular hang-outs frequented, kind of like having a favorite restaurant somewhere you rarely visit.
Whether a guardian will make the time and journey to the Tower to let their Ghost chill there is kinda iffy, and has a lot of factors to consider.
But several can and do, and most will try at least periodically.
Ghosts have a virtual bulletin board, forum, chat/audio frequency, and in general have a capacity to check in on their friends most of the time.
Some will even name and keep a private channel to reach out with when in range
And unrelated to those, I have...
Those little noises they make when they speak up and stop speaking vary by individual ghosts, and each blip can be recognized to reflect feelings about the words spoken.
How much a ghost moves and how, the degrees and speeds of motion, speaks much to their personality
Ghosts have shell preferences. A lot of them have a shape preference in general, in addition to the patterns on the shell.
In line with this, some don't care at all and will let their guardian dress them.
Some like letting their guardian dress them, or otherwise likes to dress to match their guardian.
Most of the time it's settled quickly, as they have a shitload of data and can easily make a case.
Polls have been used to answer questions about common guardian behaviors and commonality of ghost preferences.
Predictions of outcomes are popular contests. It's not uncommon to gamble on results with creative arrangements or formal presentations in concession to the victor. (A whole ass, "why Ghost was right and I was wrong" PowerPoint presented in a common channel)
I have more, but I'm collecting mint and will be back.
