He’s held hands tons of times before (duh) but he feels like it’s more special when it’s with the one that he loves

HC that the travelers have a history of “finishing” a world then leaving all of their treasures to find in a hard place

For Teyvat, this “hiding place” was their teapot. Ever since they got their teapot they’ve been building up this “museum” on one of the islands. They have Corinthian-Like American columns (see image below for ref) holding each of the rewards they get from the archon quests/story quests as well as a small description of the item, how the traveler got it, and what they think about it.

(I picked these because they have feather and feather like patterns on them - and while the travelers don’t have feathers on their wings - it symbolizes flight. I also believe that the curliness of the “feathers” symbolizes its growing and spreading out to plant other seeds to grow more and the cycle continues.)

They have separate spaces for each nation in a row, as well as reserved spaces for the places they have yet to go to. At the end of the display, a book titled “Teyvat” sits closed on a pedestal with the same design below twirling up around the book in a sort of “splash” look??

If you open the book, it’s completely empty. This is because the twins wait till they reach the end of their journey to fully and accurately retell their experiences.

━━ ☆ SUMMARY:  thoughts on how the genshin boys would act as members of a modern-day pop-rock band.

━━ ☆ WARNINGS: i mean... it’s kind of a crack fic...

it's been so long so i don't know if you guys remembered but one time, i linked a video of our favorite four zaddies playing the lyre to i want it that way by backstreet boys

why is that relevant? because that's how i imagine them to be.

but let's backtrack for a little bit so we'll understand it better.

it all started with kaeya and his music taste that was filled with so much variety. eventually, he got into some pop-rock type of beat and started learning the riffs for this one song he really liked (and i'm inclined to say it's from oor but i won't force my interests on you)

eventually, he branched out and he started learning more songs and maybe doing some composing of his own too.

he became so invested in it that he bought real proper equipment (courtesy of his stepdad who was actually really supportive)

unsolicited crepus hc but he used to be part of a band back in the day which was why he was so happy when he found out kaeya was vibing

ok back to the point

his whole 'almost professional' thing going on attracted one of his friends? acquaintances? co-something's attention.

childe was known to be a hobbyist -- a good one at that -- in their area so it's no wonder he got interested.

kaeya was willing enough to share some details and stuff.

but he didn't expect childe to actually want in on his little project

still, he wasn't one to deny any help because it's still a relatively small time thing and childe just so happens to have some background on drumming (it's with a marching band but it's still experience)

and so, childe began nailing basic fundamentals in drumming, and now, he's a pro which was surprising because he's actually doing decent a week into his lessons.

ok, but what now?

childe is dumb and isn't smart enough to think of actual lyrics while kaeya had a way with words but he's... often misleading and sketchy.

point is, they nailed the melody and rhythm but they can't for the life of them think of the decent words.

good thing childe knows a certain someone *wink wonk*

childe knew him from his history club days (he's a hobbyist who jumps from one topic to another, remember?)

and he swore he has never seen someone exist speak so prettily

which is why they both found themselves knocking on zhongli's dingy apartment (he was living one of those 'you need to learn what it means to live as a commoner and not rely on money every single time even if we're hella rich' cliche trope)

surprisingly, he was down!

not to mention, zhongli knows how to play the bass which threw kaeya and childe off because, why would this sophisticated, i-can-only-eat beluga-caviar man be so good at playing the bass?

zhongli found their reaction so amusing which is why he never told them the reason.

up to this date, that is still one of the band's greatest mysteries

but did you really expect anything less from mr. talent himself? no. no, you didn't.

things were finally getting into place. great melody, amazing lyrics... but something was missing.

spoiler: it's a vocalist.

now mind you, every single one of them can hold a tune but it's just not... kaboom y'know?

zhongli's deep voice is great for harmonizing.

childe who once did choir was great as a backup singer.

kaeya does well too but he much prefers to sing through his guitar.

so what now?

the answer to their dilemma came in the form of kaeya's stepbrother who pretends he hates him but actually really likes him.

diluc learned the piano when he was a child and he’s insanely good.

like 'i can play liszt's la campanella with my eyes closed' good (an over-exaggeration but i digress. he's just damn good)

and his early introduction to classical music made him very adept at playing pieces, not songs.

so yes, he was a classical musician and enthusiast through and through.

at least, until kaeya started blasting rock songs in the house while he's working on something.

or when he brings his rowdy bandmates to practice in their garage.

at first he hated it.

they were so loud he couldn't hear his gaspard de la nuit.

but eventually, he started realizing how much of a bop the things they were playing were.

and it annoyed him to no end because duh, kaeya having taste? absurd.

but the didn't stop the songs from getting stuck in his head

and eventually, he'd find himself singing to it.

all was well as long as kaeya didn't know, right?

but all was not well because kaeya found out.

you see, kaeya had a bad case of diarrhea.

and when you're doubled over in pain, you don't really have the time to check if someone else is inside.

and turns out, diluc was there, singing his heart out to one of their songs while he was in the shower.

which is great and it's musically a love at first sight but you know, the diarrhea's not gonna go away by itself.

so after a lot of screaming, and 'get-outs' and 'no-you-get-outs'

kaeya was found in diluc's bedroom, frantically explaining how he had a great voice and that he should offer it to the band.

diluc was both embarrassed and weirded out because kaeya was so deep into his explanation that it sounded like he was trying to get him to join a shady cult, which you got to give it to him, isn't too far from reality.

anyway, after a lot of pestering from kaeya and crepus, diluc gave in and told him he'll sing one (1) song.

it was not just one song.

turns out, diluc was really great. he has a stable, rich voice, is attractive enough to be the face of the group, and is an excellent pianist so it didn't take long for him to be acquainted with the keyboard.

and when you grab the golden fish, you don't let it swim away.

so i guess he's stuck with them.

not like it's very bad because diluc is kind of lonely after being so withdrawn and this is like, his first friendly group social interaction in a while.

did i mention diluc secretly likes how kaeya is outgoing and witty and now he has a valid reason to stick close?

well, that.

for a long time, they made do with just the four of them

and they probably became soundcloud stars first before they went to other social media platforms.

or maybe they made a tiktok singing an original and it blew up overnight.

and they started getting popularity because they're all hot. ugh tiktok people, am i right? /j

but true fans stayed for the music because they're freaking fire.

soon enough, a producer noticed this rowdy bunch of talented blokes and asked them to sign with a label.

diluc, a business major, and zhongli, a wise man doing whatever, made sure there were no suspicious parts in the contract

actually, there were a lot of issues because signing a contract means a lot you know.

like childe, ever the 'jump from one thing to the next' person, didn't want to be tied down to something kind of permanent. meanwhile, diluc was only doing this as a pastime.

they smoothened things out because the ungodly amounts of time they spent together formed a lasting friendship that can burn the world *cue sparkles*

cool. so that's sorted...

not.

the label adhered to all the conditions and adjustments diluc and zhongli wanted as long as they get a fifth member.

everyone was reluctantly okay with it.

enter: kevin

he's not very relevant though.

he got into some issues with the company the same year and left.

you know, like every fifth member in a band.

and that's it.

they became like backstreet boys and imagine dragons' lovechild.

Diluc:

Is MC’s secret bodyguard, protecting MC from dangers they don’t even know of

Literally invents a new grape juice recipe for MC

Makes sure MC is safe before he goes to rest every night

He might appear cold from the outside, but his burning heart beats for MC only

Writes lots of songs and poems about MC. In fact, MC is probably all he would ever write 

Mc is his muse; whatever they do becomes his inspiration

Every morning when MC opens the door and finds flowers, fruits and even some raw meat on the doorstep, it’s from Razor

Idolizes MC as the star of those legendary tales in Mondstadt (He’s MC’s biggest fanboy for sure)
