The issue introduced Hubert, Shondaya Williams, and Marty who were created by Kurt Busiek and George Perez. The Avengers (Captain America, Firestar, Giant-Man, Scarlet Witch, Thor, Wasp, Wonder Man, Iron Man, and Justice) saught to keep the Exemplars (Bedlam, Carnivore, Conquest, Decay, Inferno, Stonecutter, and Tempest) from executing the Juggernaut.
