Awwwww...my heart....

MY 10 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 651:

1) Kondou is such a good leader. 

2) Their matching grimaces as they raced to get to Sadaharu’s side.

3) Abuto basically telling Kamui to be a good big bro and take care of his little sis. He’s such a good husband.

4) Poor sweet Kagura...the guilt she was feeling totally slayed me.

5) Just seeing how desperate Kagura was to get to Sadaharu seriously just made my heart clench.

6) These brave little puppies...I love them.

7) The intensity on her face...all out of her love for Sadaharu...I totally felt and identified...that is me if my puppies were in danger.

8) I got emotional...they’ve come such a long way and Kagura fought so hard to get to this point. Yato sibling love is just so warm.

9) I just thought it was adorable that big bro Kamui basically said his little sis was a cute little rabbit.

10) YES, Papa rabbit appears! And I was so glad Nobume was by his side...for a sec in the chapter, I thought it was Utsuro that got her.

SHIPS TALLY:

Abuto x Kamui: yes, I am just going to refer to Abuto as Kamui’s husband from now on. Abuto earned it after chasing after that crazy rabbit for so long. I mean, just look at how tenderly Abuto looks at Kamui-chan! 

Gintoki x Nobume: I felt a tinge.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 544

MY 17 HOLY F**K MOMENTS IN LESSON 544:

I know it sounds like I say this often, but this is without a doubt one of THE BEST chapters in the ENTIRE series. Also one of THE MOST IMPORTANT chapters, a total game-changer without a doubt. I can’t even believe I was able to narrow it down to just 17 moments, which totally doesn’t do this awesome chapter justice AT ALL...just go re-read it...or rewatch it, it’s episode 314 of the anime. 

1) Gintoki rushing forward, slicing his way through everything and everyone to help Nobume.

2) Omggggg look at the strain Gintoki was under and they just started!

3) Then again, he was recently bombed and buried under rubble, so I guess we should have all cut him some slack, including Sougo.

4) I just loved that Okita was seeing all of this go down and narrating it. Of course I wished it was Hijikata, but Okita’s a wonderful consolation prize.

5) Damn.

6) Utsuro’s fucking annoying habit of pulverizing people’s arm/leg bones.

7) I mean, even before this I already had a suspicion of who Utsuro really was, based on his hair mostly, but seeing Gintoki start to realize it as well was truly chilling. He looked so devastated my heart actually hurt in response.

8) Heart-breaking.

   9 - 11) I just couldn’t bear to break up that scene. Gintoki almost lost his life because he was so shocked by his realization that the monster before him was indeed his beloved teacher/mentor/father-figure, coming back from the dead to wreck havoc on his life now.

12) BLESS KAGURA.

13) And BLESS SOUGO, for trying to help out even though he was just defeated by this monster.

14) Holy SHIT. How Okita survived THAT is definitely nothing short of a miracle.

15) Not only was he able to weather that gut-pulverizing blow, he even was able immediately hold Utsuro back a little. Sougo is just...man is BEYOND amazing sometimes.

6) The entire line was “Even if my sword doesn’t reach you, our sword will.” BEAUTIFUL.

17) YES!  I mean, I was excited when I first saw this that Gintoki was able to land a blow...of course since then, I’ve grown and learned a lot more and now looking back, I feel stupid I even thought that would make any difference whatsoever.

SHIPS TALLY:

Gintoki x Kagura: I just loved that Kagura straight up saved his life by literally using her own bare hands. Speaks volumes about their bond, whether or not you ship them. One of the most memorable scenes in the entire arc, imho.

Gintoki x Nobume: if I shipped them, I would be very pleased by how he basically mowed down people just to get to her.

Gintoki x Okita OR Okita x Kagura: honestly, his life-risking actions in moments 13 - 15 above could easily be interpreted as being for the sake of either of them.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 604

MY 8 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 604:

1) All that’s missing from this complete Yorozuya portrait is Sadaharu. Seriously, I was mentally cheerleading for Nobume to join them permanently.

2) I loved this fight: not because I really gave two shits about Hitsugi...in fact, I cared so little about him that I just kept on referring to him as Crow-san cuz I didn’t even really bother to remember his name...but rather because Gintoki was so brutal right from the get go. 

3) Perfect example of Gintoki’s brutality: he stabbed his sword right into Crow-san’s mouth without any hesitation. 

4) I loved Gintoki’s words: “Master? Disciple? I don’t see any of those here. What I see in front of me is just a villain.” And he looked so beautiful.

5)  And here too: “And what’s in front of you is just a Yorozuya!!” Gin-chan is so awesome!!

6) I just enjoyed seeing the three of them fight together.

7) Just...I mean, look how damn cool Gintoki looks in his midair strike pose! How can I not love this??

8) Bless Nobume for totally sacrificing herself and shoving Gin-chan out of danger.

SHIPS TALLY:

Gintoki x Nobume: technically she was willing to die for him...made me actually wonder if I should be considering this ship more seriously.

Shinpachi x Nobume: this is totally my own headcanon, there is obviously much more evidence to support GinNobu than ShinNobu, but I still derived some pleasure from seeing Shinpachi and Nobume just standing side-by-side and fighting together.  Look, I just really want our Pachi-kun to be with someone awesome and more attainable than an idol or an edible insect. And I know he would worship Nobume and treat her right, so I think it’s a win-win for both of them.
