So, English isn't my first language—I'm using Google Translate because I couldn't have written even half of this otherwise—but here’s my take on the Bloody Mary and Laufey’s song "Goddess"!! (I was hunting for songs for their playlist).
You know how one of the Bloody Mary dynamics is the whole savior/devotee,Simon calling Grace an angel, and so on?
Well, picture a situation where they initially only communicate via comms: Grace is friendly and patient, doing his best not to make things worse and keeping Simon calm until they can rescue him. Then, when Simon sees that Ryland actually exists, he has something of an existential crisis, because, okay, he was believing, but he hadn't truly believed.
"Were you surprised by me
When(i/Grace) you took (you/simon) me home (erid/hailmary)?
When the glamour wore off
Reduced to skin and bone(human)'
I can’t even tell who you want to know I’m a goddess on stage (comms)
Human when we’re alone (Rocky is here too)" Anyway, it all works out, and now the two of them live together on Erid/the Hail Mary.
Simon still thinks Grace is a deity, a saint, or a savior angel because it’s the only thing that makes sense,he really should be dead.
And Grace has no idea that Simon still thinks that; their dynamic actually moves in reverse, as they get to know each other and Simon sees Grace's "flaws" (his humanity), he starts pulling away and growing suspicious. Grace begins to notice this but doesn't know how to turn things around, all while feeling guilty for thinking he somehow "deceived" Simon into believing he was a brave, good person, a angel .
"You must have felt so damn deceived
When you made up a version of Me
that you thought you’d love
But I am not your Aphrodite, oh"
Eventually, it reaches a point where Ryland has to confront the situation because "He's the only human for light-years around; we at least need to talk" but Simon is already deeply suspicious. He believes it’s all just a big trap and that he’s going to be sent back to the COI or the Blood Moon. That’s as far as I’ve taken the story, I think they’d manage to understand each other in the end, but deep down, Grace would always wonder if Simon likes him for who he really is or because he still thinks he’s a Goddess.
so that's it thank you !!
