A Freshly Minted Artist’s Letter to My Favourite Tumblr Friends (aka You)

Dear Tumblr friends,

It's been a while. I'm sorry I stopped posting regularly—I am here to announce that I am diving back into social media. I created and posted art here regularly 2014-2017, and sporadically 2018-2020. The past few years I:

Went through college

Took a year off

Transitioned in gender expression

Dealt with resulting mental health and relationship fallouts that I was avoiding my whole life

Adopted a dog 🐕

Graduated with degrees in Classics and Theatre 🎓

Worked a little as a graphic designer, dining hall assistant, and as a federal government supervisor 📋

Decided I need to be a creator and an artist professionally 🎨🎨🎨

Sounds productive when I put it like this hahaha

P.S. My initial thoughts are that Instagram is for the professional look and Tumblr is for experiments, personal projects, and stuff I like. I believe creating well is about quantity and perseverance, so I’ll keep reflecting that here.

In The Air Tonight

On the way to work the song “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins came on while in traffic. The big drum solo part came up so of course I “Air Drumed” the part. Then, I happen to look over and see this nice girl give me nod and thumbs up 👍 Always a great way to start the day!
