Masterlist
This is exactly what the doctor ordered. A night out to forget about what's been happening. Lately, it feels like you were suddenly cursed…. Nothing but bad events kept piling up in your life. First, you lose someone you claimed to be your best friend and now you aren't even happy in the relationship you were currently in.
What can possibly be next?
When it comes to your relationship it’s weird… When Yoongi and you are together everything seems to be perfectly fine. The two of you enjoy one another's company and can talk about anything and anything. He shows that he cares about you when it's just you two and he never fails to show that you are special. However, after he leaves and you two aren't around one another, it's like he suddenly forgets he is in a relationship and acts completely different. It’s like he forgets about your existence and seems so distant and cold.
He doesn't check up on you. He always seems to be too busy to respond and he just makes you believe you two aren't in a relationship...
In other words, this whole relationship was rather complicated. You wanted to talk to him about it, but you decided it was best to just suck it up and hope that something will change...
Hopefully... Something will change in this relationship and when you say change you mean for the better...
You already lost someone important to you... Did you really want to lose Yoongi because of your own paranoia?
"Y/N!" That was the first thing you heard as you stepped foot into the bar.
You look to your right and there you see your best friend Nani waiting for you in a chair with a glass in her hands already.
You quickly walked up to her. As soon as you approached her, she got up from her seat and pulled you into a hug.
"It feels so good to reunite like this," Nani says as you two were hugging.
"You have no idea how relieved I am to see you..." You two pulled away and you sat down in the seat that is next to her.
"I can't wait to hear all about it... But before we begin, I think it's important you get you a drink first... You're going to need it first," It wasn't long until Nani called the bartender over and ordered you a drink.
She's right... Right now, a drink sounded very much needed at the moment.

Nani's Point of View
After calling Y/N and finding out that her and Jackson were having problems... I knew right away I couldn't just sit back and do nothing about it. From the moment we all became friends I knew there was something different about the two of them.
I always had a gut feeling the two of them would end up together at the end. On top of that from what I recall Jackson did tell me very valuable information that I can’t ever forget.
Flashback
It was 1985 when I first lost my husband...
WHO AM I KIDDING.
One Friday night, it was the day where I decided to hold a goodbye party after being offered a new position to move away from home. I invited all my very close friends and thought it was going to be a good night... Don't get me wrong, it was a good night.
However, it was also a very unforgettable night.
Before I learned the fact that Jackson had a thing for Y/N I remember I had a small crush on him. I mean let’s be fair you can’t blame a girl because he is a good-looking man.
I thought before I left Korea, I had to make it a mission to sleep with him before I left...
But boy did that bite me in the ass. That clearly didn’t work out in my favor.
There was of course alcohol in the party and many people under the influence.
I remember at this party telling Y/N about my intentions of hooking up with Jackson. The thing about the situation is she never agreed or disagreed with my decision which from the start I found that oddly suspicious. But at the time I didn't think much of it. As I said drinks were involved in this party...
I remember that night I was watching Jackson from afar with a red cup in my hand, drinking to get that liquor courage in my system to make a move... After my final sip, I remember setting the cup down and before I knew it, I was suddenly walking in his direction.
Jackson looked at me as I approached him and as soon as I was in front of him, he looked at me confused and quite taken back.
"You me upstairs now," those are the only words that happened to come out of my mouth. He was surprised to hear me say such a thing TO HIM. Yes, I knew I had always been a bold kind of gal.
I grabbed a hold of his hand not giving him much of a choice but to listen to me and pulled him upstairs. I was under the influence of alcohol, but I wasn't drunk, so I was fully aware of the decision I was making at the time.
By the time we got upstairs, it wasn't long until I pulled him into my room and threw him on the bed.
I thought maybe by being aggressive it would turn him on.
As he was lying on the bed, I closed the door behind me and made sure to lock it so no one would interrupt this moment.
While Jackson was lying on the bed, I walked over, and it wasn't long until I was suddenly straddling his waist looking down at him smiling in satisfaction.
I looked at Jackson and noticed how taken aback he was with everything that was happening. I was planning on kissing him, but I suddenly didn't feel right about the situation.
What am I doing...
If Jackson was into this, he wouldn't be looking this confused...
"I'm sorry," I said as I removed myself from Jackson and he slowly sat up.
"No, I'm sorry... I don't know if I ever gave you the impression that I was interested in you... and if I did, I'm sorry...." hearing that come out of Jackson's mouth did sting. I didn't know how to feel...
It's not like he was rude about the situation. I was at fault especially since I just read his body language wrong in the first place.
"No, I'm sorry... I don't know why I even did that... " I was slightly embarrassed, but Jackson got close to me and grabbed my hand.
"Listen I respect you too much as a person to let something like this ruin our friendship," Jackson was always a sweet man.
He was someone who if he truly cared about you, wouldn't let minor situations like this interfere and that's something I admired about him the most. If I were in a situation like this, I probably would have acted awkwardly and completely killed the friendship in a matter of seconds.
"Can I ask you a question?" I asked him and he looked at me.
"Yeah?"
"Who do you like?" Usually after getting rejected like this a normal person wouldn't ask about their interest right after... But as you can tell I am not your normal girl.
For Jackson to react the way he did I knew right away that he was interested in someone. It seemed like he put all his marbles in one jar, and I suddenly became curious to know who it could have been.
"How do you know I like someone?" He asked me and I smiled.
"Because I'm smart." Jackson looked hesitant to even open up about his feelings, but he looked at me.
"Y/N..."
As soon as he said her name I wasn't even surprised. I had a feeling this whole time, but I never said anything because I thought it was all in my head. The way the two acted around one another showed that the two had eyes for one another... Jackson seemed to pick up on the vibe, but I couldn't say the same about Y/N.
She is probably still in denial or still ignoring her true feelings.
"I should have seen it coming," I blurted out and Jackson looked at me confused.
"Do I make it that obvious?" I couldn't help but smile.
"Just a little... But to be honest I'm pretty sure Y/N feels the same way she just doesn't know it yet. " Jackson just looked at me and I got up from the bed.
After that encounter, we never brought that up to anyone and I never asked any further questions about his feelings towards Y/N. I just kept it a secret because I knew that if Jackson wanted it to be known he would have said something a long time ago...
I always hoped that the two of them would have started dating while I was gone... But boy was I wrong... I came back and I found out that the two weren't talking...
Nope, not on my watch.
I love both equally and I know that these two were a match made in heaven. They both just needed an extra push to talk to one another and finally confess how they truly felt.

Your Point of View
As soon as you received the drink in your hand, it didn't take long until you began to take a few good sips from it.
"Before I even tell you about my depressing news... What's new with you?" You asked Nani and she smiled.
"No no no we must start with you... I know you probably don't want to talk about it but what the hell happened with Jackson and you?"
Before you decided to open up, you lifted your cup and took a good chug.
"Oh..."
After putting down the drink you looked at Nani.
"That's the thing, I have no idea where it went wrong. We went from being best friends and everything was normal to suddenly Jackson removing himself from my life and not explaining himself. I don't know where everything went wrong. We were so good and before I knew it things went bad so fast." You truly don't understand where things had a turning point.
Did you say something that could have offended him? He would have said something... it's not like the two of you haven't argued in the past or at least had a disagreement.
"Hmm, at what point did you notice Jackson acting up or acting distance?" Nani asked you and you sat there and had to really think about it.
The more you thought about it... You realize he started to act towards you the moment you started to see Yoongi.
"Well... It started after I started to see someone, but I don't feel like that could have been a good enough reason for Jackson to want nothing to do with me?" you looked at Nani and she just smiled.
"Girl... Do I have to spell it out for you?" Was there something you missed here?
"What are you talking about?"
"I don't know if you're acting clueless or if you really are... But I don't know... Maybe Jackson LIKES YOU?" When Nani says those words, your eyes widen.
No way.
That sounded impossible. Jackson... JACKSON WANG YOUR BEST FRIEND liking you?
That doesn't sound right.
"No, he doesn't," you quickly shot the idea down and she just shook her head.
"Okay, what other explanation is there for Jackson to cut you off out of the blue?" Nani seemed very convinced that Jackson had feelings for you, but you never got that impression from the guy.
"I did forget to mention that Jackson has a girlfriend. What if he started to date without telling me anything and his girlfriend wanted him to cut me off? I don't know, I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation," you said, and Nani looked at you like you had 4 heads.
"Wait... Did I hear that right? Jackson has a what?"
Before you can say anything, you are cut off when suddenly by your surprise you look up and there you see Jackson entering the room. Why is he here?
You noticed him the moment he walked right through the front door. Speaking of the devil...
Just seeing Jackson's presence made you suddenly want to drink even more.
You looked over at the bartender and smiled.
"Can I please get another one?"
You had a feeling that Nani must have invited Jackson over here. Talk about making things awkward.
Jackson noticed your presence but suddenly looked away and looked right at Nani. You could feel the unwanted vibe he was giving off with you just being there.
"I'll be back, Ima head to the bathroom," you told Nani, and she nodded her head.
You instantly got up and found the nearest bathroom. Right now, you need a chance to mentally prepare yourself before facing Jackson... After the conversation you two had I felt hard looking at him.
-
Nani's Point of View
I felt someone tap my shoulder. I look up and there I see Jackson right in front of me. Clearly, my presence was needed in a situation like this. Before I left on my trip, I was pretty sure I was going to come back home and find out that Y/N and Jackson were finally together. . . HOWEVER, it looks like the complete opposite happened instead.
"A warning would have been nice," were the first words Jackson blurted out.
"Well, how was I supposed to know that Y/N and you were not on good terms? I leave you guys alone for two seconds and I come to find out that you two hate one another?" I wanted to ask Jackson as many questions as I could before Y/N came back from the bathroom.
"I don't hate her. . ." I knew he didn’t, but I wanted to hear that come out of his mouth. By the way Y/N explained it seemed that way, but I knew that she was exaggerating.
"Well why she is away, care to share why you two stopped being friends? Or would you like to start at the part where you have a new girlfriend,"
Jackson looked over at me and then at the bartender.
"I need a drink,"
I shook my head and looked over at Jackson.
This could take all night.
-
Y/N's Point of View
As you came back you felt much worse. Usually at least back then when you would see Jackson you used to be happy. But now that there was nothing but this awkward tension between the two of you... You wanted to run out of there.
The only way you can manage being around him is if you have enough alcohol in your system.
You raised your hand and called over a bartender.
"Oh, so it's that kind of night?" Nani asked and you looked over at her.
"Oh, you have no idea..." you said as you slightly glanced at Jackson, and he was already looking in your direction but instantly looked away.
You knew that once the alcohol starts to kick in you are going to give Jackson a piece of your mind sooner or later.
-
4 shots in and you were definitely feeling the buzz.
Jackson hasn't said a single word to you, and you couldn't help but feel yourself suddenly getting more and more agitated.
How can this man sit close to you and not want to talk to you? Did your friendship mean nothing to him?
"I need another drink," You were ready to call the bartender over yet again but that's when Nani stopped you.
"Listen Y/N I love you, but you need to slow it down with the drinks..." You knew Nani was looking for your best interest, but it didn't help with the fact that Jackson was inches away from you.
"I wouldn't have needed to drink so much if you didn't bring him here," you said pointing right at Jackson and that's when he finally made eye contact with you.
"If I would have known that you were going to be here, I wouldn't have come," Jackson splats out...
Those words themselves felt like he pulled out a knife and just stabbed you in the chest...
Jackson was so cold to you... Never gave you a full explanation and suddenly it seems like he can be so harsh to you and not feel a single remorse after saying it.
"Wow," you blurted out...
At this point, you don't think you can no longer hold back your tongue.
You were hoping that eventually maybe in the far future, there was a chance you two could have put your differences aside and work something out but suddenly that doesn't seem like that will ever happen.
"Guys..." Nani was trying to interfere but it was far too late for that.
"No... Jackson tells me how you really feel," you said looking Jackson directly in his eyes.
"You know what, let's just drop it," And there he goes trying to leave you in the dust... You were sick and tired of being confused and clueless. You needed answers.
"No... What the hell did I do to you, Jackson? How the hell do we go from being best friends to suddenly me being dead to you? Did my friendship mean nothing to you? Did I mean nothing to you? I would have thought maybe if I ever did something wrong you would come to me and talk to me about it. But clearly, you don't seem to give a single fuck about me since it seems so easy to remove me from your life..." you were about to continue but Nani cuts in.
"Y/N don't say something you will regret," Nani knew how much you valued Jackson as a person... But it was far too late now...
"Stop. If Jackson doesn't give a fuck, why should I? I was stupid enough to think you valued me as a person. I wasted my time hoping that maybe we could put our problems aside and become friends again. But you know what, I don't need you in my life."
"Y/N," Nani tried again but it was no use.
"You're dead to me the same way I am to you... Now we are even," saying those words out loud suddenly made a sharp pain appear in your chest.
You were hoping to hear something come out of Jackson's mouth by now or even explain himself at least but he stood completely silent.
That reaction by itself showed you everything needed to know.
Internally you wanted to reveal how upset this situation had you feeling but you weren't going to allow Jackson to get that satisfaction. Lately, all you have been feeling has been upset and depressed, and instead of anyone showing any sign of concern... You were alone yet again...
You lifted your head and looked at Nani.
"I'm sorry but I have to go... I think it's best if we see each other when this person is not here," you said to Nani.
"Y/N," Nani was trying to stop you from going but it was far too late for that.
You started to grab your belongings.
Just as you were getting ready to leave suddenly that's when everything seemed to happen so quickly...
Just when you thought your night couldn't get any worse... You thought wrong.
"Hey babe," you looked over and your stomach dropped.
It's been 4 long years since you last saw and talked with your husband. Obviously on paper he is still your husband. Occasionally your father-in-law and mother-in-law call you. You were constantly in touch with Jackson. He was like your best friend. He would give you updates when Jayb would get drunk and talk about you. It was tough to move on. First restarting everything there, building connections and many more. Finally you were rich enough to buy a mansion and settle there. You have been going back and forth from states to Seoul, to meet your family, your in-laws but strangely you never ran into Jayb, because he was never Seoul every time you visited. Jackson told you that he has locked your shared bedroom. He mostly sleeps in your art room. But what's the use neither you nor him is trying to talk. So eventually you felt settling there is best but your family and your in-laws are totally against you settling in the states. As per them in states no one is there.
Today was a normal day but you got a call from your mother-in-law that grandma had a heart attack and the doctor says she has very little time left and she has requested to see you and Jayb together. As you heard this a shiver ran down your spine. You just agreed to her because you too wanted to see grandma, she used to love you a lot. You packed your thing and called up your assistant and told her that you'll be out for a few weeks. And went to Seoul.
As you got out of the airport you saw Jake and jackson waiting for you. You hugged both of them. The distance from the airport to home was short but traffic took half an hour there. Meanwhile jackson got a call and got busy there. Then jake asked "did you two try speaking to each other?" To which you replied saying "nope..the last time we talked was at his home, it's been years that we stopped talking" hearing this he said "but you're not well, JayB hyung is not well too, everyone in the family knows, he drinks and gets wasted talks about you. He would often come home and would sleep in your room." Hearing this you didn't say anything.
Next morning you got ready and went to his house. You met your in-laws and others. you guys chatted for a bit and your mother-in-law suggested to go and meet grandma. , you immediately agreed. You reached the hospital and met grandma. She greeted you with the same warm smile. "It's been a long time since I saw y/n. You look more pretty." Grandma said You smiled and said "tell me when you are planning to come home, I miss the food that you make." Hearing this she touched your hair and said "I don't know love, may be I leave from here." Hearing this you stopped her "no grandma you should never say that"hearing this she laughed and asked "where is your husband? That brat would often come alone and would talk about you." Hearing this you looked at your mother-in-law. Before she could respond the door opened and you saw your husband JayB after so many years. He was looking even more handsome. Your eyes met for a fraction of seconds soon grandma said "come Jaebeomie stand with her, you two remind me of me and your grandfather. I wish I could live longer to see my grandkids" hearing this you both said together "grandma you are not supposed to say that.." then you both looked at each other but don't say anything. Soon you got a call from your assistant. You excused yourself. As you finished your turned around only to find JayB and his mom. Your mother-in-law spoke "I am gonna stay here, and get the formalities done for grandma to come home, meanwhile you both go home and inform others, also you guys need to be together. " You nodded. You looked at JayB but he didn't say anything. You both reached his car, he opened the door for you. You settled. "Can you stop at the florist?" You asked instead of replying he just nodded. Soon he stopped the car and you went in and bought roses because grandma loves roses. As you got in and kept the bouquet in the backseat suddenly jayb spoke "you're bleeding." Saying this he opened the dashboard and started cleaning your wound as you saw he was not wearing your wedding ring. "You need to be careful with roses, they have thorns" you didn't say anything you just looked at him that moment you realised how much you missed him all these years. "It's fine, it's not much". Hearing this he whispered "always stubborn" hearing this when you ask him "what did you say??" Hearing this he rolled his eyes and said "nothing..lets go" you laughed and said "some things never changes" after that he didn't say anything. As you reached home you were about to take the bouquet but instead he told you to go in and he said he will bring the bouquet. You don't say anything you just went inside. You met everyone and chatted with everyone. Once everyone left you looked around the house, you see that Nothing changed. You slowly walked into your bedroom that once you shared. The room was dusty, it is the same when you left, the pictures of you and Jayb. The baby picture he got you when he got to know that you were pregnant. You went near the vanity you can still see the skin care you left years ago. You started sobbing and you saw JayB enter that room "this room is dirty I'll have someone clean it for you stay." You wiped your tears and said "why didn't you change anything in this room ?? Why is everything the same. As if I just left, it's just the dust everything is the same." Hearing this he responded "yes because you left, how can I enter this room when you're not even here. it was my room y/n then you came and you made it our room, each and everything in this room reminded me of you, how can I even live here." Before you could respond you heard bambam shouting "grandma is here...come down you guys." You rushed out. Everyone stayed with grandma and spent time there by the time you guys were talking it was time for dinner.
The whole family sat at the dining table after so many years. You sat beside JayB had dinner, and chatted with everyone. Soon everyone left to sleep it was just you and your mother-in-law. She broke the silence "you take the bedroom we cleaned it up and as for Jaebeom he can sleep in his office...." After a long pause she spoke again "just talk to each other and try to work out on your relationship if that's possible, you both are miserable and also I miss you being around." Hearing this you smiled and she left. You lazily walked in your bedroom you saw it was clean but JayB was not there. You got yourself changed in your nightsuit, tube top shorts and a long shrug. You went to his office but he wasn't there. Then you went to your art room and saw JayB there near the window where he was smoking. It was new for you because you never saw him smoking. "Since when did you start smoking!?" You asked ,which he replied "why does it matter to you...go sleep..you must be tired." Hearing this you said "where do you sleep?" He didn't say anything and continued smoking. You walked near him and held his torso tightly and hugged him. He threw away the cigarette and asked you "what are you doing ?" Hearing this you replied "hugging my husband." "The husband that you left." He responded bitterly and broke the hug. He was going away but you held his hand. Instead of saying anything he untangled your hand and walked away. You slept in your art room and he slept on his office couch. None of you slept in your bedroom. Next two weeks were the same you'd work from home and coordinate on call. That morning you got a call from JayB telling you about a dinner that you need to attend together. With everything you were done by 6 you got ready and called him "I am ready when you're coming ?" To which he replied "I'll be there in 15, if you're busy then let it be" hearing this you got irritated "I already completed work, I told you I am ready, if you are not in a mood to take me to that dinner then tell that straight on my face" hearing this he sighed and said "fine then you don't have to go." And disconnected the line. You threw your phone in frustration and got yourself changed, and you started to paint. You check the time it was around 12 generally by 9 JayB used to be home, but today he is late. You felt very uneasy so you called yogyeom "hi, do you know where Jayb is???" To which he replied "noona we are in the middle of something... Will be home soon" saying this he disconnected the call however while he was talking you heard the gun shots in the background. You tried calling JayB but he was not responding. You went to your mother and father in-law and asked "dad where is jayb and others?? Why is no one receiving calls ?! I don't feel good" Saying this you shed a tear. Your mother-in-law comforted you. After a few minutes of dad calling others he came and told you that all of them are in a shootout with the rival gang. You started felt more uneasy but all of you guys were waiting for them to come.
Finally at 3 you guys heard footsteps as you stood up you saw jackson and mark with bruises and some cuts , soon you saw bambam and Yugyeom walking in they were a bit injured but fine. Your eyes searched for JayB. Soon you saw jayb walk inside, though he was covered in blood and there were a few cuts and bruises here and there but rest he was walking fine, you felt breath relief as you ran to him and hugged him. Since everyone was there he held you and broke the hug to say something but his father interrupted "let talk tomorrow y/n was really tensed, you take care of her. I'll see others" saying this he went away. You and Jayb walked but JayB was going towards the office but you held his hand and dragged him to your shared bedroom. You controlled yourself , told yourself that you wouldn't cry in front of him. You went to the bathroom and took him in, you gave him clothes to change on. As he came out of the bathroom after the shower you took the first-aid and cleaned his small wounds and you asked him "are you hurt anywhere else?" To which he gave you a cocky reply ",why do you care?" Hearing this you lost your cool you stood up and slapped him across his face and started crying "why do I care??? I am your damn fucking wife Lim Jaebeom. Do you think it's easy?? Remember our last conversation!!? I was praying to God like a fool to save and protect you. You know how helpless I felt, thinking all possible scenarios what could happen to you will I ever be able to see you." You cried badly he held his cheek and he was too stunned to speak " and all you said was why do I care?? Because I love you jay. I admit I fucked up but please stop this. I can't stay like that." Before he could say anything you wiped your tears and said "do you have someone else in your life?" To which he removed his hand from his cheek and said "are you crazy?? After you left, I stayed in your art room, even stayed at your dad's house in your room. You think it was easy for me??I started smoking, locked this room so everything remains the same. No matter how busy I get I always clean wedding pictures. I got wasted , cried all of you. But you were not even living in this country." Hearing this you walked and closed the distance between you and him with a hug. You tightly held him around his neck and he held your frame firmly. He broke the hug and wiped your tears and kissed you. The kiss was so slow yet burning. It's been years that you two kissed. You pulled your body close to his so you could hold him around his torso. While he held your nape. He tongue slowly poking and for permission to get inside. He slowly bit your lower lip so you open your mouth slightly giving him access. The slow kiss escalated as you guys continued.
Next morning slowly open your eyes with a smile because the first thing you saw was your husband peacefully sleeping. You touched him face. Soon he opens his eyes and smiles "hi baby. Good morning" saying this he pulled close and kissed you "good morning my dear husband" hearing this he smiled. You hear a knock on the door. He gets up and wears his pants and slightly opens the door "hyung are you coming down?? We are going for a picnic in an hour with grandma" asked bambam Jayb nodded bambam threw another question"why are you shirtless? Don't tell me that you and mina made out..." Hearing JayB said "you crazy or what it's y/n my wife. And why will I do anything with mina!?.. get lost. will be there in half an hour." Saying this he closed the door only to see you sitting on bed wearing his tshirt "who is Mina??" Hearing this he smirked "jealous? Are we??" You rolled your eyes and asked "where is your wedding ring ? See I am still wearing mine" "Its in the drawer" he replied. You stood up and got the ring and made him wear the ring. He looked at you and pulled you to hug you and kissed your hair. His one hand held your waist and the other hand was patting your head "I missed you y/n" hearing this you kissed his neck and whispered "I missed you too" you lifted your face pecked his lips and said "what do I do with my office in the states? I'll have to leave tonight." Hearing this he sat up and asked "what do you mean??" To which you replied "my Business is doing great there. How will I manage ??" He pulled you and you straddled him and you hugged him "Do whatever you feel is right. For you can manage. I'll work here and then I'll visit you. And you can also do the same " hearing this you break the hug and say "or else I can open another branch here and I can make my assistant work there.? What do you say?? I can go back and forth when needed?" Hearing this he smiled and nodded. You went close to his touching your forehead to his and you guys were about to kiss but suddenly heard a knock. JayB opens the door "hyung y/n noona's parents and our parents are calling you both." Said Yugyeom JayB nodded and closed the door. "Get ready our fathers wants to talk to us." He announced you asked "what are they planning??" He said "not sure let's go and find out." You both freshened up and went to the office where both your parents were. You both greeted your parents and sat there. You started the conversation "what happened?? All good?? " To which your mother said "we want to discuss about your arrangement" then your mother-in-law added "there should be something we can do. How much longer you guys are going to stay apart." Hearing this you looked at your husband who was approved looking at you. Then your father spoke "see in marriage we face problems but that doesn't mean you two separate." Hearing this his father also added "correct, also we all can see you both love each other so much. Yet why you both are separated. Today we all are here...to..." Before they could finish JayB said "we both are planning to stay together and work on our marriage " without listening to JayB your mother said "you guys cannot divorce" to which you said "mom we are saying we want to stay together. We want to work on our marriage. And we love eachother" hearing this both the parents got shocked yet relieved "thank you my babies." Said Jayb's mom. "That's nice we all were over thinking." Your said and hugged you while your dad hugged JayB. You both were happy.

"Ji ah, be careful stay near by" you told your 4 year old daughter "but mumma I want dada... Where is he ?" Your daughter pouted before you could say anything your daughter ran shouting "dada.... I want to go to the water." You turn around only to see JayB picking up your 4 year old "of course baby.. but tell me did you apply sunscreen?" Your daughter nodded you smiled from a distance. As he reached you he put your daughter down and pecked your lips and said "sorry baby had a meeting, give me the sunscreen please" you smiled and handed him the sunscreen. As your daughter saw the sunscreen she shouted "dadaa.. no I don't like to use it." "She is just like you, I kept her in my womb for 9 months and then this brat comes out looking like and now as she is growing she has picked up all your habits and traits. " Hearing this JayB smiled and applied sunscreen on her daughter and said "baby Ji ah's skin is soft you need to protect." And you asked her "baby who is going to swim there?" To which she replied "Lim Ji Ah and dadaa." You smiled before they went towards the sea JayB said " go kiss your mom" the tiny little thing runs to you and kissed you on cheek and said "dadaa...come and say bye and kiss mommy" hearing your daughter imitate your husband you smiled . JayB walked near you and he kissed you and whispered "let's leave her with mom dad tonight and make another that looks exactly like you " you pushed him away and whispered "stop it she is here." He smiled. You sat down under the umbrella with a book as you saw your husband and your little daughter walk towards the sea hand in hand.

a/n - i’m not back, this is a ghost posting c:
The sunlight filters through your cream curtains. You feel the warmth on your cheeks. It tickles you awake. Despite the April air still crisp with the remnants of winter, the early morning sunlight gives you the facade of summer.
That, or maybe it's the warm arms pulling you by the waist.
You peek one eye open to find Bambam curled up on his side, nuzzling closer to you. The flutter of his lashes, golden in the light, tells you he's awake. He doesn't look at you though.
Instead, he pulls you in closer, takes in a deep breath of his sweater that you wore to sleep. When he exhales, it is slow and shaky. Your heart aches the moment you feel it.
His eyes shut and you run your fingers lightly through his hair.
"Another dream?" you whisper softly.
He nods, nuzzling into your chest. You don't say anything else, just run your fingers through his hair softly.
"I've been seeing him more often lately," he finally says.
You smile, waiting until he looks back at you. "He's watching over you."
Bambam smiles back, pressing a kiss to your collarbone. "Making sure I treat you right."
You chuckle, "And he must be proud of his son."
He laughs, the sound muffled into the crook of your neck. "It's too early to make me cry, babe!"
You only giggle, pulling him closer into your arms. Maybe it's the way he hugs you back, but you think you can feel the ache in his chest right against you.
You sigh, eyes squinting through the sunlight. For a moment, you think you see a passing shadow in the fluttering trees. It disappears as you blink, but the warmth remains.

A/N: I originally posted this piece on Vocal with different character names and as a one shot. However, when writing it, I had always pictured either Chanyeol or Jinyoung as the male main character and as more of a series rather than a solo piece. So here we go!

“Wait!” He commanded as he struggled to slip on his tailored navy suit jacket while exiting the restaurant. He pushed his way through the crowd, quickly making his way down the plaza steps, nearly missing the last, “Fuck.”
This was his chance. After having lived with an enormous pit in his stomach for the last month, he had suddenly become overwhelmed with a sense of urgency to reveal his romantic epiphany. Combined with the fact that tonight had been a disaster of epic proportions, he felt as if he would explode if he held it in any longer. But, unfortunately for him, she seemed incredibly uninterested in hearing him out or slowing her pace that endless night.
“Yn…” He pleaded, reaching out for her hand and stopping them both under the sinister glow of the oddly colored street lamp. With distress now etched onto his charming face, he begged, “Please listen to me.”
“Why should I?” breaking free of his grip as she whipped around to face him. Her expression was stern and unwavering, but her eyes betrayed her, filled with the hurt and frustration that consumed her. “I was utterly humiliated in front of all of your so-called friends, and you did absolutely nothing.”
Riddled with guilt, Jinyoung could no longer hold her piercing gaze. She was right. He had failed her, exposed her to the ridicule of his friends and co-workers all night. Sure, he had deflected and redirected a few invasive comments and questions others had bombarded the pair with at the start of the dinner. But, as the night dragged on, he found himself distracted by side conversations and the never-ending flow of alcohol. No longer acting as her buffer, he had left her to fend for herself amongst the sea of prying eyes and shallowness.
Yn stood her ground most of the evening, not allowing their opinions and overbearing nosiness to affect her. She was proud of who she was, a strong independent woman who never allowed anyone to make her feel less than. Everything Yn did or said had thought, time and meaning put into it; she abhorred the feeling of being caught off guard. Which is why when she had agreed to be Jinyoung’s date for the evening, she had made sure to prepare herself for the judgment and criticism she was sure to receive from the elite. Yn had felt well equipped for their looks of pity and tsks of disapproval.
But, when the other guests began to make unpleasant assumptions about her relationship with Jinyoung, their remarks began to break down the wall she had perfectly constructed for herself. To them, it seemed unthinkable that an academic as handsome and successful as Jinyoung could ever date a woman so artistic and unorthodox as Yn. And while yes, it was correct that their relationship was painfully platonic, every reply of Of course you two aren’t together, and You really don’t seem like his type only drove the knife even further into the wound of her inadequacies and seemingly one-sided love.
Yn had been in love with Jinyoung for what felt like an eternity, standing by him even as she felt her heart crumble. And lately, with every infatuation, hookup, and relationship Jinyoung experienced, it crumbled more and more. It had all begun to feel insufferable, torturous even, with the almost constant bombardment of reminders that he would never choose her. She would have never imagined that Jinyoung would be the one to deal the final ironic blow.
“So, what could you possibly have to say to me now, Jinyoung?” she snapped.
“I… um…,” the man sputtered, ears and neck tomato red, the heat of embarrassment having crawled its way up his body from the moment he reached out to her.
“That’s what I thought.” she scoffed and made her way down the paved pathway once again.
“I…” he took a deep breath, “I’m in love with you,” he blurted as Yn continued to put more and more space between them.
He had always been so sure of himself, cocky even, but somehow uttering those three words made him feel like the most insecure man in the world. Maybe it was the unknown, the possibility of rejection, or perhaps it was the fact that he had never really been the type of person to show vulnerability. Had she heard him?
She stopped, she did not turn around, but she stopped. It pained the man to be unable to see her face, to see how she was reacting to his abrupt confession. Was she shocked? Had she already known but decided to keep it to herself? Her silence, combined with the autumnal breeze, sent a shiver down his spine. And with each faint beep of the crosswalk signal in the distance, he felt himself spiral even further into an abyss of anxiety and dread. Did she even care?
She scoffed and shook her head; in disbelief or annoyance, he was not sure. “Really?” She questioned, face eerily illuminated by the green glow of the lamp hidden amongst the tangle of barren cherry blossom trees. She glanced over her shoulder at him, eyes studying him intently. The tiniest of smirks graced her painted lips as she awaited his response.
He nodded, desperately hoping it would be enough to convince her to turn around entirely, hope slowly seeping its way back into his body. Did she feel the same way?
But his response only caused her to turn away from him again and chuckle half-heartedly.

But you wanted that senior partnership, and it wasn’t as if Jaebum was a stranger - you knew him rather intimately. It was only a year together, and then you could divorce him and achieve your biggest career goal. But would it be as simple as that?
Pairing: Im Jaebum x female reader

Conveniently Yours will start 6th January with daily posts until completed.
“One year, Y/N. If you marry Jaebum, the partnership is yours. You can divorce him in a year’s time, though I’d prefer divorce not to be a part of this since I really do want to hear the pitter-patter of little feet again. Humour this old man with his wish to see his grandson married to a beautiful and successful woman.”
Every morally ruled part of you ceased up at this offer. You did not need to prove your worth like this. Absolutely none.
And yet, greed was a wicked thing. It tempted you, reminding you that a partnership in this law firm was a dream you’d held onto for some time now. If marrying Jaebum for a year could get you what you wanted and came with a year’s worth of great sex, well, it wasn’t the worst bargain you could sell yourself out for.
Still. You should be able to get this on merit alone. Park Jinyoung sure as hell would.
“It’s your turn to make a move, Y/N,” Bumsoo announced, steepling his fingers together. “I’ve laid out my cards. What do you say?”

Summary: Jackson has been working for you for months now and things have been going perfectly well, up until a single moment turns his world upside down. Suddenly all that occupies his mind and floods his senses is you and he’s going to lose his mind if he doesn’t figure out why.
“Saturday at seven pm,” Jackson speaks into the phone propped precariously between his ear and shoulder, balancing his briefcase and two cups of coffee in his hands, “Yes, I did receive the invitation and she would be delighted to attend. She would also like to send a donation in for the silent auction, I’ll be forwarding you that information shortly.”
Jackson glances both ways before he subtly backs into your door, maneuvering the handle down with one firm glute before pushing through. You look up from your computer and offer an amused grin at the sight of him and his full hands.
“Absolutely,” He says professionally, sending you a quick wink as he hands you your morning coffee, “She’s looking forward to it. Thank you, Manuel.”
“Morning, boss,” He grins, taking the seat across from you. Or rather, perching atop the arm of it per usual.
“Morning, Jackson,” You reply, sipping the smooth latte and relishing the way it warms your chest, “I’ll have to switch out the door handle for a knob if you don’t stop opening it with your ass,” You chuckle but Jackson has no shame, just that same twinkle of mischief you’ve become so accustomed to.
“With these cheeks?” He laughs, leaning forward like he’s letting you in on a secret, “Bet I could still open it.” He winks and you squinch your eyes shut, openly laughing at the visual he’s created.
“You are so lucky that you are great at your job and I enjoy your company.” And your cute ass, you think to yourself.
“I know, I know,” He holds up a hand, “Enough about how wonderful I am. We have real work to do, boss.”
You let out an airy sigh and lean back in your chair, “Right you are.”
“Lay it on me,” You say then narrow your eyes before Jackson can say something distracting but he only smirks before pulling out his tablet and going over today's schedule without missing a beat.
You hired Jackson as a personal assistant eight months ago and he has been an absolute godsend. Sometimes you forget what work was like before him and the fact that he had minimal experience in the business world still blew your mind because he picked it up like it was a piece of cake. Now he was completely in charge of your team, coordinating every little detail behind the scenes without breaking a sweat.
More than his business savvy though, you really valued Jackson as a friend. You appreciate him in general, simply for existing. His sense of humor, his kind and playful nature, his positive attitude, his compassion for others, and drive to reach his goals.
If someone asked if you could live without Jackson in your life, the answer would be yes, you could live without your right hand man, but you would never want to.
“Tell me about this event you’ve signed me up for that I ‘would be delighted to attend’,” You muse, eyeing him curiously, and he grins back, tapping a few things on the glass screen before turning the tablet toward you.
“I promise you’re actually going to love this one. It’s a charity gala and proceeds benefit thirteen different animal rescue leagues in the area,” You perk up in your seat and glide your finger over the screen showing the invitation, “Its a formal event, tiny hors d'oeuvres, expensive champagne and you’re on the VIP list of course.”
You do love it. He’s right, as usual. He knows you better than you know yourself sometimes. You know the little things about him. He likes mint chewing gum, he goes to the gym at five am four days a week, he’s a dog person, he’s entirely too good looking and funny for his own good. Putting your professional relationship to the side, you wanted to know more about him. Or...everything about him and maybe you’re using this event as an excuse but...
“Is there a plus one?” You ask, tapping your chin thoughtfully.
Jackson’s answer is delayed only because you’ve never asked about having a plus one to any of the events you’ve attended and the thought of you having someone you suddenly want to bring along makes him tense for some unknown reason.
“Um, yeah..I’m sure there is, I’ll just email Manuel but I’m sure that can be arranged,” He finally answers, taking his tablet back over, already tapping away at the glass.
“Jackson,” You call and he just hums in response, pausing to look up at you when you repeat yourself.
“Do you have plans this Saturday night?”
“So, you have a date with your boss tomorrow?” Jinyoung laughs, emptying his bottle of beer and setting it next to the four other empty bottles at his feet though he’s just as sober as when he started.
“It's not a date,” Jackson rolls his eyes, staring into the flames of the bonfire he and a few of his brothers are seated around, “It’s a work thing and she probably just... didn’t want to go alone.”
“Dude, she obviously wants you, specifically, to come with her if she asked you,” Mark argues, his amber eyes still glowing after his tumble with the youngest.
“Not to mention she’s super hot so I doubt she would have any trouble finding someone to drag along as arm candy if that’s all she wanted,” Youngjae pipes in, gnawing on a mostly devoured roast turkey leg.
Maybe he was just the arm candy, he thought to himself before shaking his head. It’s obviously for professional reasons. He is your right hand after all. There’s nothing abnormal about an employer and employee attending business related events together. He’s over thinking things, as usual.
That doesn’t mean he would be opposed if you had ulterior motives. He would quite love it if you did. Alas, he tries to remain realistic.
“If all she needs is a pretty face,” Bambam’s shouting interrupts Jackson’s thoughts and he looks over just as Bam dodges a blow from Yugyeom’s fist, “I’m totally available.”
Jackson growls low and Bam slinks further away with a devious cackle, the youngest hot on his trail. He loves getting under his brother’s skin more than anything. He does not, however, love Yugyeom’s wicked right hand though, so he keeps moving.
Mark, Jinyoung, and Youngjae all exchange knowing glances with each other following Jackson’s reaction to Bam’s teasing. Jackson has a soft spot for you, obviously.
“What’s she like?” Jinyoung asks casually, “You don’t share so all we have to go by are the news articles.”
“Yeah. Does she always look like a movie star with the expensive dresses and fresh blowouts or is she like normal?” Youngjae asks, chucking the now clean picked bone into the fire.
“You guys have got to stop stalking my boss in the tabloids,” Jackson chuckles, rubbing his forehead.
“Can you blame them?” Comes a deep voice from behind Mark and they all look up to see their alpha, Jaebeom, carrying over a large tray of cooked meat that he barely has time to set in front of them before they all start swarming.
“It’s not like you’re super forthcoming with the details on your beloved mentor,” He pauses to smack Youngjae’s hand away, letting everyone else grab first since he stole his last one straight off the grill.
“Must have trained you pretty damn well if one of us is thriving in the corporate world,” He looks at Jackson, conveying his genuine compliment. He’s very proud of his brother.
Jaebeom’s sharp whistle signals the start of dinner and everyone currently absent begins to wander over.
Bam and Yugyeom stop their wrestling and the youngest races over to the chair closest to their Alpha, plopping down in it before a tiny figure appears to his left. Jaebeom’s daughter winds up her little fist and socks Yugyeom in the arm for stealing her seat but the giggles spill out of her when he swiftly lifts her up and places her in his lap, handing her a piece of chicken to chew on.
“Inda, what did we say about hitting?” A smooth voice calls over the child’s shoulder and the little girl pouts up at her mother, “Sorry, mommy.”
Jinyoung’s mate, Rena, makes her way over and settles herself in his lap before winking at the little wolf, “I think he kinda deserved it.”
Malia, Jaebeom’s wife, mate, and the pack’s Luna, laughs and shakes her head at Rena’s encouragement before wandering over to Jackson and ruffling his hair, “It’s been a while since I’ve seen this handsome face,” She smiles warmly, ever the mother figure, “Did you forget the way back home?” She tuts with a hand on her hip.
“Sorry Luna,” He bows his head before smirking up at her, “Did you miss your favorite wolf?”
Jaebeom swiftly smacks Jackson upside the head while the others laugh and grumble but Malia’s parting head pat tells him all he needs to know. He’s still her favorite.
“Tell us about your girlfrie-” Rena starts before Jinyoung squeezes her side to reign her back in with a smug grin, “I mean your boss.”
Bunch of nosy mutts, Jackson mutters just loud enough for their superior hearing to pick up and he laughs wildly as his family tosses anything they can reach at him.
“Alright, alright,” He concedes, “She is amazing and kind of a badass.”
There’s a shrill giggle and Inda’s eyes are alight at Jackson’s potty word but Yugyeom is quick to correct her before she gets in trouble again. Still, her tiny sharp teeth are visible in a mischievous grin.
“I’ve seen her tear apart men twice her size across a conference room without lifting a finger. She’s bold, confident. She knows exactly what she’s doing and she really is a great mentor. Taught me everything I know.”
“And, no,” He looks over toward Youngjae working his third turkey leg of the night, “She’s usually in business casual when I’m around, not Versace gowns. Don’t think I’ve ever even seen her with her hair down. She’s cool though. Down to earth and she’s a good person, genuinely. Rare for someone in her position.”
“Sounds like you’re in love with her. You should bring her home,” Yugyeom says around a mouthful while little Inda nods enthusiastically, her cheeks comically full.
Jackson finishes off his bone, tossing it among the others in the fire, “Am not and I don’t think so,” He half-scoffs, and some of them have the audacity to be offended. “The majority of you are half-naked and covered in dirt with glowing eyes,” He looks at his brothers and they all nod in belated understanding.
“And some of you are just scary,” He nods in Rena’s direction. She leans forward and snaps her teeth playfully making Jackson jump back a bit. Rena was the wildest amongst them and Jackson still hasn’t forgotten that time she put him in the dirt when she first joined the pack.
“If she likes you, she would love us. Come on, Jacks,” Bam teased, “What? Are you afraid she’ll find out how sexy your brothers are and drop you on your ass for a better wolf?” He snarked and Jackson finally had enough teasing, standing from his chair and tearing off his shirt.
“Run,” He growls with a predatory smirk, making Bambam drop the food in his hands and high tail it toward the woods with a delighted cackle. Jackson sprints off behind him despite Jaebeom’s warning grumbles.
There’s a brief, antsy silence before all eyes shift toward the Alpha, a silent plea to excuse them from dinner. He huffs but Malia’s hand falls into his hair, brushing the dark strands back lovingly, “They’ve missed him,” She whispers and he falls into her embrace as usual, “Let them run.”
The alpha lets out a low whistle to release them. Rena, Mark, and Youngjae are the first to bolt. Yugyeom has Inda on his hip and she’s refusing to let go, wanting a part of the action herself. Jinyoung promises to keep an eye on them, so the alpha and luna let them go, watching their pack disappear into the woods.
Malia slides into her husband’s lap and wraps her arms around his neck as he kisses her temple. “I know it was hard to let him go, but he always comes back home,” She whispers to him and he melts into her touch, “Sounds like he’ll be bringing someone with him one day.”
Jackson is coming down the hall to your apartment when he bumps into your stylist in the hallway.
“Oh! Mr. Wang, nice to see you!” The man greets him with a quick bow, “Just fair warning, your girl is a walking masterpiece tonight, if I do say so myself. Drop dead gorgeous that woman.”
Jackson smiles awkwardly at the way he says ‘your girl’ in reference to your boss but he knows there are no insinuations behind it. Seokjin just has a particular flair and Jackson is well accustomed to it.
“I’m sure she is with you behind the scenes,” Jackson compliments Seokjin and the tall man winks at him.
“She makes my job easy,” He grins, “The most stunning, cooperative canvas I’ve ever worked with! Well, I’ll be going. Have a great night!” Jackson watches as the man walks away, a light chuckle falling from his lips.
Jackson knocks lightly at your door and he can hear you shout for him to come in so he pushes through and lets the door fall shut behind him. He steps into the kitchen but you’re nowhere in sight.
Suddenly, you walk into the view and Jackson staggers back against the island of your kitchen, his eyes wide as saucers. It’s as if he was physically rocked backward, his senses overwhelmed you. You hadn’t even noticed him until you were standing directly in front of him, and you realized there was something wrong.
“Are you okay?” You asked with genuine concern. He was hardly breathing and his pupils were dilated bigger than you thought possible.
“What..are..you wearing?” He choked out and you thought he meant your outfit so you stepped back and looked down at yourself.
Seokjin had put you in a well-fitting emerald-colored dress and while it may be alluring you felt it was still elegant and tasteful. You were sure Jackson would love it but he looks like he’s being strangled within an inch of his life, plastered to the counter like a cornered animal.
You pull at the material uncomfortably, “Is it bad?”
Jackson finally pulls himself away from the island and rushes impossibly closer, “No! No, I’m sorry. The dress is beautiful, YOU are beautiful,” He emphasizes, hands coming up to grasp both your elbows, “I just..is… are you wearing new perfume or something?” He asks, confusion written all over his face and it’s certainly matched on your own.
“No, It’s the same perfume I wear every day,” You answer with a raised brow, “Are you sure you’re okay? You’re acting strange.”
Jackson turns his head and attempts to gulp down air that isn’t so incredibly intoxicating but no such luck. He can’t escape the scent, nor the way it makes him want to crowd you so closely he may as well be on top of you. How is he supposed to make it through a black-tie event at your side without embarrassing himself?
All he wants to do is bury his face in your neck and your hair and...and…your hair.
You never wear your hair down and Seokjin has styled it in big loose curls falling around your shoulders. He’s never noticed how long it was, or how incredibly good it smells. Does it always smell this good? You should always wear it down.
Jackson is just standing there, literally less than a full foot apart, his fingers gently playing with the bottom of your locks and now it’s you who's having trouble breathing. You’re just staring at the enraptured look on his face but he’s so far away in his own mind.
“Jackson,” You whisper, afraid to startle him out of whatever trance he’s found himself in, “We’re going to be late if we don’t get going.”
Jackson blinks a few times and tears himself away from you, one hand gripping the counter and the other scratching almost painfully at his throat. His collar was much too tight suddenly. He aches to be rid of his tie and top buttons but he reigns himself back in as best he can.
“Yeah, sorry. We should go,” His voice is tight, clipped. So unnatural for his outgoing, quick-witted personality.
You move past him into the kitchen to grab your purse off the granite counter before circling back in front of him again, “Are you okay to drive still or should I call for Seungmin?”
“No, no. I’m fine I swear, I’m sorry for being weird. I was out really late with my family last night and I think I’m just a little short on sleep.”
“You sure it’s not because I look awful or smell funny?” You joke and he finally smiles, appreciative of your attempt at making things normal again.
Jackson scoffs, “Complete opposite. You look and smell amazing,” He winks at you and he’s not sure why he says it because it’s his ultimate undoing, “You should wear your hair down more often.”
“Maybe I will,” You smile back at him, linking your arms through his, “Let’s go.”
The gala was only the beginning of whatever the hell was happening with Jackson.
Unfortunately for him, you actually did start wearing your hair down. Almost every single day. He sagged in relief every time you spun it into a bun, stifling whatever hormone you were putting off that was making him into a crazy person.
He had no idea why it was driving him so insane but the scent of you was suddenly so overwhelming it had him wanting to be close to you at all times while simultaneously keeping everyone else far away, especially other men. But rationally, he couldn’t do that and it was making him lose his mind.
You were aware that Jackson was acting strange ever since that odd interaction in your apartment. You had gone to the gala and had a wonderful time together though you did notice Jackson was glued to your side the entire time and even now he was finding every reason under the sun to be near you.
You didn’t mind, you did really enjoy Jackson’s company and he was still managing his duties with ease so you let him join you whenever he wanted. He was always a help, never a hindrance. You also had a less than professional crush on him, so the selfish part of you enjoyed the extra attention however random it was.
It was another Thursday afternoon when you got a call from your old friend, Namjoon. He was in town and wanted to meet up for lunch so you called Jackson into your office to let him know you would be stepping out but his reaction was...unexpected.
“Namjoon? Kim Namoon? Why?” He asked suspiciously and you sat confused in your chair, trying and failing to fasten the straps of your heels due to the non-existent stretch of your tight skirt.
“Old friend from business school?” You answer with a raised brow, huffing in exasperation because of your shoes, “Why do you know him or something?”
Jackson scoffs, rounding the desk faster than you expected and you gasped when he knelt before you, taking your ankle in his hand. His fingers were hot on your skin and you weren’t sure how or when you began squirming in your seat but his command to ‘Sit still’ had you freezing entirely as he fastened the straps on both of your heels, one hand lingering precariously on your calf.
“No, I’ve only heard of him. I hope you have a nice time,” He says with a cool tone and you look at his tensed jaw and wonder why the hell he was acting...jealous?
Jackson blinks twice before he’s looking back up at you with a startled expression, “I’m...uh..sorry. I’m not feeling well today,” He says, an odd bead of sweat falling from his hairline.
You instinctively reach out to wipe it away and jerk your hand back as soon as it touches his skin. If his fingers were hot his forehead was incinerating. It felt beyond a fever and you looked at him in shock, “Jackson! You’re burning up, you need to get to a doctor.”
Jackson backs away and rubs at his neck. Wolves always ran hot and with whatever was going on with him he should have been more careful. “Ah, no it’s ok really, I don’t feel that bad.”
“Jackson, I want you to go home for the day. You need to get some rest,” You said sternly and he had already opened his mouth to argue but you shushed him, “For my peace of mind, please. You’ve been working so hard, you deserve some time off to relax and recuperate. Take the rest of today and tomorrow.”
Jackson couldn’t even stand the thought of not seeing you for two days as ridiculous as it was but he knew that look. You weren’t going to take no for an answer and so he just nods, standing up and straightening his pants, wrinkled from kneeling on the ground so long.
“As you wish boss,” He concedes walking toward the door but he stops to address you once more before he goes, “Please call me if you need anything.”
“Rest well Jackson,” You respond softly and you slump down in your chair when he closes the door.
Jackson drove straight home. Not to his apartment, home.
Mark, Jaebeom, and Malia were all sitting around watching the younger ones when Jackson pulled up. He opened the door of his car and a large black wolf, Jinyoung, nearly barreled into him just having been tossed away by his opponent, Rena.
Jackson rolled his eyes as Jinyoung bounded back toward his mate, pinning her to the ground with too much ease. She was letting him pin her, Jackson realized. He smiled at them but scoffed when he reached the others, “Are they fighting or fucking?”
The three of them laughed and Mark handed Jackson a beer as he sat down next to him, “With those two you never really know,” He laughed.
“It’s been a while since you and I have fought, Alpha,” Malia chuckled, reaching for her husband’s hand which he promptly brings to his lips in a show of affection.
“That’s because all we do is fuck,” He grins, earning a wild look from his mate and gagging noises from every one of his brothers within earshot.
“Oh god,” Bambam shouts, hand over his stomach like he’s due to vomit any second, “It’s like hearing your parents talk about having sex.”
Jaebeom doesn’t even bat an eye, he just pulls Malia into his lap and addresses Jackson, “To what do we owe the pleasure, brother?”
Jackson downs the beer in his hand and Mark is already passing him another. “Something happened or more like, keeps happening, and I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me.”
Jackson goes on to tell them about what happened when he went to pick you up that night. About how he is suddenly so drawn to you that he hates to be too far away for too long. How he wants to come across the desk every time you flip your hair and send a fresh wave of your scent his way. How he got so jealous at the mere thought of you having lunch with another man.
“I just don’t get it,” Jackson complained, “She is driving me crazy and I have no idea why! It just happened all so suddenly and I don’t know what to do or what’s going on!”
Jackson finally stopped talking and noticed everyone had gathered around him and was staring at him in complete silence until Jaebeom’s hand whacked the back of his head.
“What the fuck?!” Jackson rubs at the back of his head as Jaebeom eyes him incredulously.
“Do you know anything about being a werewolf? Have we seriously taught you nothing?” He asks and Jackson is just as lost if not more now.
“You’re losing your mind because she is your mate you fucking idiot,” Mark cackles and Jackson’s eyes go wide.
“My what now?” He croaks, air escaping his lungs.
“Your mate,” Rena snickers, “Dumbass.”
Jackson narrows his eyes at her but she grins and lunges at him, Jinyoung’s arms keeping her caged in, and he jumps as usual. Her triumphant laugh haunts him.
“Wolves can have human mates?” He asks innocently and he’s already ducking in case someone else wants to smack him.
“Dude, we’re half-human,” Mark laughs as he gestures to his own flesh and skin, “Did you really not know?”
“I…” He starts but his words are caught on his tongue. You’re his mate. His eyes light up like he’s found it, the key to happiness and he’s about ready to jump back in the car and drive all the way back to the office before he’s stopped in his tracks.
“Oh, Jackson,” Malia’s watery voice projects, and everyone, even Jaebeom looks at her curiously, her face wet with tears and suddenly the pack is on edge.
Jackson is on the ground at her feet where she’s still perched in the Alpha’s lap, hands on her knees, “What’s wrong?” He asks, voice full of concern.
“You found your mate,” She smiles, one hand coming to rest on his cheek, “I am just...so happy,” She continues to cry but her words soothe a bit of the tension.
“Why are you crying, Luna?” Yugyeom asks, now at her side, voice small in comparison to his large size as he lays a hand on her shoulder protectively.
“Oh?” She seems surprised by the question and curiously wipes at her own face, laughing at the wetness she finds there, “That’s odd. I’m fine everyone, just hormones I’m sure,” She brushes it off.
“...Are you?” Jaebeom asks in a low whisper and everyone is deathly still again.
“We’re talking about Jackson, not me...let’s just-”
“Are you pregnant?” He asks again and the pack is vibrating with anticipation of her answer.
“I...yes, I think so,” She smiles and the pack erupts into cheers, some of the younger wolves shifting on the spot from over excitement.
Youngjae suddenly appears with little Inda at his side, her tiny hand wrapped around his as she rubs her eye with the other, both of them freshly awoken from a nap. He looks around at all the commotion and sighs, “What did we miss?”
Jackson decided to stay the night to celebrate but he raced home the very next morning and didn’t stop until he was standing right outside your office door.
He was just about to knock when he heard a deep voice on the other side followed by your laughter. There was someone in there with you and he listened closely for a moment but remembered that you never met with clients in your personal office.
The door to your office suddenly swings open and you're shocked to see Jackson standing there when you expected him to be out for the day. He was dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a plain white t-shirt so he clearly wasn’t here to work and you were confused.
“Jacks-” You start but he’s already moving toward your desk and you glance over at Namjoon who's seated across from you.
“I need to talk to you,” Is all he says, not even looking at the other person in the room, “Alone.”
“I can go..” Namjoon says awkwardly, pointing toward the door he’s eager to get out of but no one is paying him any attention now.
“Is everything okay?” You ask worriedly, ignoring Namjoon’s attempts at getting your attention so he can excuse himself from whatever the hell is about to happen.
This must be him, Namjoon thinks to himself, the assistant you’re obviously in love with. Looks like the feeling is mutual and he’ll be expecting an invitation in the mail sometime soon.
“Me? I’m great, amazing, wonderful. I need to touch you,” He rattles off and you barely get out a startled, ‘What?’ before he’s in front of you, both hands reaching up to cup your cheeks, sighing in relief.
There’s an awkward throat clearing and you both look at Namjoon who steps back at the look in Jackson’s eye, “Hi, Kim Namjoon. I like men, just so you know,” He says and Jackson is only slightly less intense before his words register and he smiles, “Jackson Wang, nice to meet you.”
Namjoon’s smile is hesitant and he reaches for his coat, “I’ve got a flight to catch soon, so I’ll leave you to…” He motions to the pair of you with one large hand, “Whatever is going on here.”
“Bye Namjoon,” You mumble without looking away from the man in front of you. “Jackson, what is happening?”
“Are you going to fire me if I kiss you?” He asks very seriously and your mouth falls open.
“I-kiss me? No?” You trip over your words but Jackson is laser-focused on you.
“No, you won’t fire me? Or no, don’t kiss you?”
“Yes, kiss me,” Whooshes out in one breath and his lips are already on yours before you have time to prepare and his hands scorch your skin wherever they touch. The overwhelming sense of belonging and harmony you feel is equally comforting and confusing but you know you don’t want him to let go.
You push yourself closer, arms wrapping around his middle, hands gliding over the strong muscles of his back as he kisses you with such intensity that it feels like you should be holding on for dear life. He feels like the beginning, the end, and everything in between.
When you finally pull apart he doesn’t step away, he simply rests his forehead against your own. His breath cascades over your lips and he kisses the side of your mouth carefully, reverently, “My mate,” He whispers.
He’s still kissing your face softly and you can’t stand to interrupt him but your confused hum makes him pull back in a panic, sputtering out, “I said we should date!”
You just stare at one another for a moment. Jackson is hoping you bought his cover up. You didn’t, but that’s okay, you’re not going to ask...yet.
Suddenly, your laptop makes a sound and the spell is broken. Jackson steps back in a daze and you’re finally able to speak again, “So…” You begin slowly, “Did you just miss me or?”
Jackson’s face grows hot but the corner of his lip twitches when he sees your smile. “Do you wanna come over for dinner tonight? I think we should talk and I rather do it somewhere that's not you know...work.”
“Yeah, of course,” You answer quickly, eager to get a handle on this new development between the two of you but you would also rather keep private matters out of the office. “What time should I come over?”
“Seven?” He says hopefully and his smile is broad and genuine when you nod your head a few times too many. “Ok...cool,” He says, moving towards the door, “I’ll uh let you get back to it…”
“Okay,” You nod absently, staring after him with a giggle threatening to bubble out of your lips, “I’ll see you later.”
Jackson is five steps away from the door when he stops and spins right back around, crossing the room until you’re back in his arms and he’s kissing you again. You almost fall back into your chair with the force of his body colliding with your own but he holds you steady with both hands, your lips moving in perfect synchrony, perfectly pressed together like they were made for each other, a matching set.
“Sorry, I’m going,” He chuckles as he pulls away and your eyes are slow to open, “I just really love doing that.”
“Me too,” You whisper, pecking him one last time, “I really should get some work done now.”
“Do you need help?” He asks eagerly, one-hundred percent willing to stay behind and assist you.
You giggle in response and push him toward the door playfully, “You’re far too distracting right now, go home Jackson.”
“See you in a bit,” He grins and this time he forces himself out the door but he’s still grinning like a lovesick idiot all the way to the parking garage.
It’s a solid three minutes into the drive home that he remembers his mistake and how wholly unprepared for this conversation he really was. He was just so eager to see you, to hold you, and then his big dumb mouth dropped the word ‘mate’ before he even explained anything.
“I need help,” Jackson blurts out the second Mark answers the phone and his brother only snickers in response.
“You ran right in there and kissed her didn’t you?” Mark laughs and Jackson mentally swears at himself.
“And called her my mate but I don’t think she really registered that part. She’s coming over tonight and I don’t know what I’m going to do! What if she doesn’t believe me? What if she’s scared? What if she hates me?”
“First of all, you need to breathe,” Mark says evenly, proceeding to coach Jackson through a few breaths, “Okay, you good?”
“Not really but go on.”
“You’re gonna have to show her.”
“No.”
There is an irritable huff on the other side of the line and some rustling before another voice comes through, “Jacks,” Malia says in that soothing voice of hers, “There is nothing to be afraid of. She is your mate and if she loves you as a human, she’s going to love you as a wolf too.”
“Luna,” He whines, “I can’t bear the thought of her being afraid of me,” Jackson says quietly and Malia looks around, smiling at her family.
“She won’t be afraid, she’s your mate, she could never be afraid of you,” Malia assures him and his nerves calm at the sound of her voice, “I know it’s scary to let someone in but trust in your wolf, it chose her for a reason. She must be a strong human and it senses that. She will love you in all forms. How could she not?”
Jackson smiles to himself. “Thank you, Luna. You get wiser and more beautiful every day.”
“That’s why you’re my favorite,” Malia chuckles and Jackson can clearly hear someone, probably Yugyeom’s shout of protest in the background. “You know Inda’s birthday is in a few weeks, right?”
“How could I forget? I’ll be there,” He says finally home and shutting the car off.
“Sounds like a perfect opportunity to introduce your mate to your family, doesn’t it?”
The anticipation of seeing Jackson had gotten the best of you and you left the office right at five o’clock so you could race home to shower and take way too long to choose an outfit. You had no idea why you were so nervous, it was Jackson. Your partner, your person.
You stopped dead in your tracks on the way to the front door when you realized what you had just thought. When did he become your person? Was it when he stayed up all night with you in the office, pouring over a new proposal? Was it when he surprised you with your favorite coffee just after you had a stressful call from an investor? Those were things he now did regularly but you remember the first times and recall being taken aback by having someone to do those things for you.
Maybe he had been that person all along and it was solidified when Namjoon asked you about work and you simply couldn’t shut up about Jackson. You realized you really liked him. More than business, more than friends, and maybe even more than that. Maybe like was not enough to describe how you felt about him.
You were absolutely shocked when he kissed you. Jackson was always charming, even flirty, and you often found yourself watching his mouth whenever he spoke but never did you think he would burst into your office like that. Walking right up to you and holding your face between his palms like you were something precious.
Just the thought of being near him again made you grin uncontrollably and put a little more pressure on the gas pedal than necessary. It was a brief ten minutes later that you stood at his doorstep, rapping lightly on the wood and waiting with barely contained glee for him to answer.
“You actually came,” Jackson’s hopeful voice has you looking up in surprise, not even having heard him open the door. His hands immediately reach for yours and you snort as he tugs you inside with a broad grin.
“Was me kissing you back earlier not convincing enough for you?” You chuckle, handing over your purse for him to hang on the coat rack near the door.
Jackson turns back toward you with a smirk upon his face, casually wrapping his arms around you and pulling you close as if this was nothing new, “You could always show me again.”
You knew your cheeks were bright red. Alarmingly so, but Jackson was kind enough not to comment on it and so you kissed him again. And again after that.
“I thought you wanted to talk,” You giggled, both hands cradling the sides of his face.
Jackson laughs and pulls back a bit, hands still lingering on your hips, with a twinkle in his eye, “You’re the one who keeps kissing me.”
“Would you like me to stop?” You ask, leaning back with dramatically wide eyes.
“Absolutely not,” He pecks the very tip of your nose with a grin, “But I thought we could have dinner first. Dinner always gets spoiled when you go straight for dessert.”
“Oh god, that was so corny,” You laughed and Jackson grinned shamelessly.
He grabs your hand, leading you into the kitchen where he’s already set the table with two full plates that make your stomach rumble in anticipation. “Anything in particular you wanted to discuss tonight?” You ask him curiously.
Like, I don’t know. The half-confessions and dizzying amount of kissing going on today. Subtle dinner conversation.
Jackson pulls out your chair for you to sit before rounding the table, “Well, I mean...this,” He laughs and gestures to the two of you. “I actually wanted to tell you a little more about myself. You know like more than just the things you’ve picked up on from working together. Stuff I haven’t really talked about.”
“You’re not an escaped convict with a false identity and really great hair, right?”
Jackson purses his lips in amusement, “Those charged were dropped.”
You pick up the glass of wine he filled for you and take a sip, motioning for him to speak whenever he was ready. You were surprised to find it was your favorite wine. The one you can only buy clear across the city and you knew Jackson bought it just for you considering he once told you he was more of a beer guy himself.
Jackson picked up his fork and he suddenly looked pensive, maybe even a little nervous. All traces of humor gone, replaced by something more serious.
“I am not exactly a city boy,” He says and you try not to giggle but the air you accidentally puff out makes him look up at you in mock defense. “I know, it’s shocking because I look so good in suits but I grew up deep in the woods. Like,” He circles his hands in vague elaboration, “Chopping wood, building things by hand, barefoot in the dirt, an hour there and back into town, deep in the woods.”
That is surprising, you pout your lips in thought. He did always look like he was itching to get out of his dress shirts. Always tugging at the collar uncomfortably, rolling the sleeves up to reveal strong, tanned forearms. Like he was too trapped in the material to be comfortable. Most born and raised city boys were wearing dress slacks by the time they could walk and Jackson looked like he was ready to rip them off at any given moment.
“Kinda hot, tell me more lumberjack man,” You grinned, sitting more comfortably before taking another bite of your food.
Jackson snorts and continues on, “I come from a big family, really big, and we all live together, like, same land, different houses but very close together. It’s almost like a compound of sorts.”
You nod in understanding, “Sounds like you guys are close?”
“Very,” He smiles fondly, “Actually, I’m the first in the family to move away and it was kind of a big deal,” He says before he quickly adds, “Not like in a bad way though. Everyone was really supportive.”
“That sounds really nice,” You smile at him genuinely, picking at your food as you listen to him. “I’ve always wanted to be in a big family but I was an only child and...well...even then my parents didn’t really pay attention to me. I always wondered what it was like to have siblings to bicker with, parents who smothered me just a bit.”
Jackson’s heart skips a beat in his chest. If only you knew. If only this conversation went as well as he hoped it would you could have all that and more.
“There is definitely a whole lot of that,” He puffs out a laugh, “It’s a little much at times but it’s all in good spirit.”
“They sound wonderful. I’d love to meet them one day. Thank them for letting you leave the nest so I could have the chance to meet you,” You tease him with a quiet smile from across the table and Jackson feels like he’s going to burst out of his skin.
“I would like that very much,” He smiles into his napkin, trying and failing to contain his rapidly beating chest.
The conversation went quiet for a moment as you both ate, nearing the end of the meal. You quirked a brow in his direction when he set his fork down and lifted his beer to his lips, draining the entire thing in one go like he was suddenly dying of thirst.
“You okay?” You ask curiously and Jackson tugs at the collar of his shirt as he begins sweating profusely. “You...don’t look ok.” You tell him, becoming more concerned.
“Let’s uh...go sit on the couch,” He says, standing so suddenly the table rocks as his thighs hit the surface awkwardly. He offers you a hand and you follow him silently into the living room, sitting facing Jackson on the leather couch.
He opens and closes his mouth a few times and you lay a hand atop his knee comfortingly, “Is this about the ‘mate’ thing?” You ask and he almost chokes, forgetting he let that slip. “Don’t worry, it’s totally fin-”
“On a scale of like, one to ten, how much do you like me?” He asks quickly, the volume of his voice rising with every word.
You giggle nervously, “If i’m being honest, I don’t think ‘like’ is the right word for it,” You tell him and he grows noticeably more panicked.
You rush to reassure him. “I mean that as in, I have more than a crush on you Jackson…I really care about you and I’m not sure how to describe what I feel for you but it’s… a lot. It’s so corny and kind of embarrassing but do you believe in soulmates? I just… I feel like we were always supposed to meet each other.”
The imaginary fireworks were exploding over Jackson’s head and he swears that he has never struggled to stay up right more than he was right now.
“You think we’re soulmates?” He asks, voice just barely above a whisper and your face has got to be beet red as you nod and shrug, entirely confused by his reaction.
Jackson laughs. Full on laughs and you’re about to cry right there on the couch until he’s wrapping his arms around you and pulling you in close. The relief you feel causes your body to melt like butter in his hold, falling against his chest and holding him with both hands,
“You can feel it too, can’t you?” He sighs, one hand stroking over your hair repeatedly, “You are so special to me. I was so worried I would scare you off and you would fire me, and I’d never see you again.”
You pull back to look at him fondly, “You’re being dramatic as usual, Jackson. You aren’t going to scare me off.”
“Do you really mean you that?”
His tone was so serious it made you cock your head to the side as you looked at him. “As long as you’re not a homicidal maniac,” You tried to joke but he didn’t laugh.
Jackson eyes you carefully, one hand over your hair and the other now cradling your cheek as he weighs his options. He was never all that great with subtlety though.
“I’m a werewolf,” He sputters, bracing for the blow, “My family and I...we’re...yeah.”
You’re quiet for a moment before the giggles slip past your lips, “You always have something smart to say, don’t you?”
Jackson’s face does not crack. Not even once and your laughter begins to die down after a minute or two, “You’re joking right? Werewolves aren’t real.”
“Are you scared now? Please tell me you’re not frightened,” He’s almost pleading and his grip on you turns desperate and holy shit. He is not joking but…
“That’s not- How is that possible?” You ask him but you’re not really expecting an answer. You just start looking at him. He’s not excessively hairy, not at all. His nails are always clean, short, well kept, and his canines were no more pointed than your own.
“Uhh...genetics?” He answers nervously, waiting for you to bolt any minute.
You sputter a laugh and Jackson’s eyes light up. That has to be a good sign right?
“So do you like, I don’t know...transform on full moons, or?” You struggle to get the words out, nothing and everything making sense at once.
Big family. Lives in the woods. Assumed hatred of clothing. Werewolves. You’re piecing it together.
“No,” He finally lets out a more relaxed chuckle, “Nothing like the movies. I do have a wolf form that I can shift into anytime but it’s a full wolf, not a hollywood hybrid thing.”
“Can you...show me?” You ask timidly. You weren’t clear on werewolf etiquette. Maybe it was horribly offensive to ask one to shift.
“I, show you? Yeah…” He gulps, pulling back from you to stand from the couch, “You’re not like...afraid of big dogs, right?”
“I love big dogs,” You say dazedly and Jackson relaxes a bit more, shuffling awkwardly in the middle of the room.
“Don’t scream ok? And please don’t leave,” He begs, eyes tugging on every heartstring in your chest.
“I won’t leave you, I promise.”
With that Jackson steps further back, looking around to make sure his lupine form has enough room before stripping off his shirt and shoes. He tries not to laugh at you pretending to look literally anywhere else in the room. Taking you home would be interesting.
Your heart lodged in your throat as a massive russet and gold wolf appears in Jackson’s place. He immediately drops to the floor, trying not to overwhelm you with his sheer size within his modest apartment.
“Beautiful,” You murmur as you reach toward him before jerking your hand back in embarrassment. Maybe you weren’t supposed to pet werewolves. They were people after all. Jackson senses the reason for your hesitation and puffs air out of his wet nose like a laugh before crawling along the floor to get closer to you.
He looks up at you with those big gold eyes and you reach out once more. He meets you halfway, pushing his head into your hand as you run your fingers through the soft fur atop his skull, running a finger along the tips of his ears.
Once he feels that you’re comfortable he stands and you’re in awe at how big he is. If you were standing his head would sit well past your hip. You watch him curiously as he shifts back into his human form, patiently waiting for your next words.
“When we have kids, will they be wolves too?” Is the first thing that falls from your lips and you both stare at each other wide eyed, neither of you believing what you just said. When you have kids, not if. Good grief your mouth and brain fumbled that.
“Oh shit,” You slap both hands over your mouth before any more stupidity can fall out.
“Hey,” He grins uncontrollably, pulling your hands away from his face, “I’ll take that as a sign that you’re not ready to head for the hills.”
“Of course not,” You scoff, “I just- wow. Wait,” You pause, gripping his bare arms and staring down at the floor in thought before dragging your gaze back up, “Mates? Is that what you meant? You and I are mates? I wasn’t crazy for the whole soulmate thing?”
“Ah, yeah. You were spot on,” He admits nervously. No point in stalling now, dogs out of the bag.
“I had no idea until that night of the gala when I came to your apartment, I swear. Everything was fine, aside from the fact that I’ve liked you since you hired me, but that night…” He trails off, remembering how you had turned his world upside down without even knowing it.
“The bond was triggered when I could scent you, it was your hair, wearing it down for the first time It finally hit me and I had no idea what it all meant but… that’s what family is for I guess because they had a great time enlightening me.”
“Your family knows we're mates?” You ask curiously, taking another step forward.
Jackson sighs, “Yes, they’re all a bit...nosy. They already want me to bring you home.”
Another step forward and you’re chest to chest. You drag your hands away from his biceps and plant them firmly on his chest as you look up at him with startling clarity. This feeling you’ve been trying to define, the pull, the attraction, the desire to hold him in your arms and not let go, the way you have fallen for him so hard in so little time. It all makes sense.
“Let’s go,” You say simply and Jackson cocks a brow at you. “I want to meet them. All of them.”
“You’re sure?” He asks, hands stroking down your spine, “They’re not likely to let you go once I bring you home. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be able to either.”
“Then don’t let me go,” You whisper, using his body as support, stretching up on your toes, “I’m not running away.”
Jackson lets out a deep rumble just before your lips press against his. His friend, his person, his mate. You are everything he could have ever wanted, yet so much more, and you accepted him without hesitation.
You hadn’t even needed to say it because he could feel you suddenly at the other end of the bond, like a warm whisper of a touch that would grow into something much stronger over time and he welcomed it, the notion of you being at his side, forever.
