look how interestingly the Wheelers’ mailbox indicates that the Wheelers are Hawkins Lab workers (including the last shot emphasising that with a red pointer)

it also feels like “wheeler” in this case is a working “wheel” of the system, so it makes sense to call hawkins lab workers as wheelers, and it goes back to Mike’s family ofc right away

Every time I see Murray’s place I know that shit is the WSQK… the van outside, the basement, like !?

Plus “the underground Russian lab” just like that’s THE Hawkins National Laboratory operating either from the Upside Down or only in the ‘tunnels’ Will made.

Plus the Upside Down kinda gives me the vibes of a blue print… like almost if you build or make something there, it ‘projects’ out into the rest of Hawkins…

Like, HOW FAR did those tunnels go? The hallways seemed never-ending… the random places it seems connected to, the fact that there could be multiple towns all under this like ‘spell’ of Hawkins National Lab & they’re kind of getting layered onto each other because of the Upside Down

Like, the Nevada, California, Illinois, Indiana, Philadelphia, New York, etc

The reason it’s changing so much it’s almost like it’s combining more and more places into one singular unified place all on top of each other and characters from different places are all just getting confused and running together

The Comms room in the underground lab looks like the room the kids in the Hawkins Massacre of ‘79 are in, it looks like the comms room that they have the gate opened to in the first season and the second season.

Also we never see the Upside Down really, the Upside Down itself could be the ‘power source’ they are mining from and destroying the natural land of. Like, it would actually be such a good way to tie the Agent Orange and other Rainbow Pesticides as well. The idea that the destroyer of worlds isn’t the Shadow Monster/Mind Flayer, but that the Hawkins National Lab/government/military is invading other places to find sources of power especially tying in the consumerism themes of Season 3 & Star Court Mall.

And then it being blamed on the Russians, like hello Red Scare revival of the 1980s!

The idea that the Shadow Monster/Mind Flayers’/The Upside Down is repeatedly shown to be where the LAB is trying to get to… the Shadow Monster/Mind Flayer doesn’t seem to like them doing so!

The fact that the characters most associated with the Shadow Monster/Mind Flayer are like Will (gay), Henry (queer-coded), Kali (Indian), and Patty (Black)… like… that’s so telling to me idk

Fangate is a sign of Hawkins Lab

ever since I noticed the fans in 5x08, they have been haunting me, feeding my theory that any fan we see indicates the Lab. My collection was a bit chaotic, and I wanted to find the majority of them to share, but today I found a detail in s2 (from my another theory) which collided with this one, lwk confirming each other (and basically being one more (two more?) confirmation of govtgate).

Tales continues the story after 5x08: I haven't noticed before, but now checking the screenshots I took after I discovered fangate, I found shots with fans in two specific situations: in scenes with Nikki (at school and in her garage) and in Hopper's house. Hopper's house is even too sus bc Idk any living human being who needs that many fans.

he has it in the bathroom, and in El's room, in his bedroom and in the living room.

his bedroom is specifically important as a shot with Will is constucted very suspiciously framing his head with that fan

now there’s at least one fan in my collection that has nothing to do with Hop’s cabin, and I have a lot to rewatch to check where else they could be found; so I’m not saying they are seen just in those two “situations”, athough these two seem important; however, that one introduces us to El and her powers right after she escaped from the Lab, so, maybe I wouldn't dismiss it too soon either 👇

In general, I’d say that fans is a very specific thing to draw (like crates found all over Tales). Someone made a decision that those fans are needed there for some reason… but even aside from the cartoon, I still wonder why they were chosen if not to symbolise something, bc, like, idk about you, but it would be probably one of the last things I’d remember to add on set as decoration.

Also will you be surprised if I say that The Boroughs has not disappointed me with this cg cue either?

and, as if it wasn't enough, today I found one more thing that's motivated me to share it sooner:

One more NO TRESPASSING sign. The sign, shown after a shot with Hopper with a fan behind his back. The sign we’ve seen only in two places so far, which most likely indicates that everything marked with it is a lab territory.

somehow two seemingly unrelated theories based on the very first and the very last episodes have matched to confirm govtgate one more time.
