I've gotta protect them
It’s Scarbo and Ryan riding a train, requested by ScarboSheep in March's Patreon suggestion box! I used it as an opportunity to practice perspective and gradient mapping. :3
Honestly, I just wanted to draw Skyward Sword Zelda.
So gradient mapping is fun
Look at my bi babs Lazarus (she/they)
ch 66 - codes
once again, mixing and matching events - this happens in 68 but there were a lot of things in this portion of the book that i wanted to draw
kaladin harasses adolin (enemies to friends to lovers, 500k words, incomplete)
my experiments with gradient mapping continue!! still struggling to figure out how to best use it but i’m getting there. methinks i need to do a little study on color theory next to make my color choices better. adolin also definitely came out lighter than i would have liked; i always think of the alethi royalty as being lighter than the dark eyes due to not having to work/be outside as much, and adolin and renarin as lighter and more golden than tan due to their iri heritage, but the gradient mapping really made him look lighter than i would have liked and that is not something i want to perpetuate in my art - definitely going to do some studies on skin tones as well
the character acting in this one is also a bit stiffer than i would like - but now that i have a more solid grasp of anatomy than i did a few months ago, it is my main focus, so hopefully it will improve in time!
just found out what gradient mapping is and whooboy am i having fun
