Thinking about how, just like the dragons, Marika and Radagons flesh turned to stone when they died
i just know some of you couldn’t be trusted to live in leyndell with gransax’s feet right there on the street
Today's fuckable dragon of the day is...
GRANSAX from ELDEN RING
LEYNDELL, ASHEN CAPITAL (x)
A great ancient dragon, Gransax once rained calamity upon the Royal Capital — the only time in historical record that Leyndell's walls have fallen
Dragonlord Placidusax once possessed five heads, each bearing their own soul.
The first head was the price of victory, torn away as Placidusax contended with the Twinbird. Twice the dragon triumphed over the god of death, holding it at bay while Uhl ignited the fire of the Crucible. Upon their third clash the Twinbird ripped away one of the dragon's heads, only to flee when it saw the Flame of Ruin blazing upon the mountaintops. This head would be the birth of Gransax, mightiest of dragons.
The second head was also lost to battle, though not to victory. While Marika and her shadow-beast entered the World Tree to challenge Uhl and his Fell God, Placidusax entered into battle with the champion Godfrey. The dragon did not falter when a head was lost to the Tarnished lord's axe. But when Placidusax saw Marika emerge from the tree alone, they fled the battlefield in despair. The second head would give rise to Dread Fortissax, the bitter, the revenger.
When he saw his sire flee the field, Gransax descended upon the Dragonlord in a fury. He cursed Placidusax for a coward and bade them stand and fight. But they would not be held, and as Gransax sought to halt them Placidusax tore away, leaving a third head in the jaws of their greater scion. This head would give life to Lansseax, a quisling to some, and a peacemaker to many more.
Credit to @katyahina for the idea of ancient dragons reproducing through budding.
With the size of Gransax, it makes you wonder how the forces of the Erdtree managed to bring down such a terrifying threat.
It's one thing that I wish we had more information on.
