So I changed gears on my Grotine Shawl and went with some Handspun. I had this gorgeous skein that @porchpegasus spun out some of my hand dyed targhee top and I couldn’t stop thinking about it for this project. You may remember that I started with a skein of Tempest on Signature Sock and I knit for a while with that, but it took me quite a lot of rounds to get the stitch pattern to look good. I’m not gonna lie, all over stitch pattern are really hard for me. I’ve probably knit the 4 rows repeat at least 60 times at this point between my two Yarns and I still don’t have it memorized. A lot of times half way through the row (and it’s not even a big row yet), I’ll forget what I am doing and start purling where I’m supposed to knit or visa versa. There’s a lot of tinking and trying again. It is certainly not an issue with the pattern, it is incredibly well written, it’s just my brain doesn’t love this kind of work and I’ve decided to just be ok with it. I really want this damn linen stitch shawl knit out of Handspun! So, even if it takes me a year, I’m going to keep working on it and know that my brain is good at a lot of other things, just not this. . . . #ontheround #carolinedickdesigns #grotine #grotinekal #grotinealong #ravelry #knitting #handspunyarn (at Rockland, Maine) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvwvvh3JL0b/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=o5o1x0kyw0td
