I got Emma one of those @backtotheroots_official oyster mushroom grow kits for Christmas and we grew a couple of fruitings of mushrooms from it. After that, I started growing them on spent coffee grounds. The first batch was easy, but this one has been slowly percolating since March 23. I was giving up on it and put it away to keep moist and keep inoculating the coffee grounds for a while longer. Then I checked it today, the first day back from vacation, and found this. A mushroom has forced its way up and through the wrapping. When something is ready to grow and fruit it will. You can't hurry it along all that successfully. And it's hard to stop it when its time has come to move to the next stage in its cycle. There's an inner knowing and energy that the time is right. Behold the oyster mushroom. And me. Hopefully you, too. #growingmushrooms #growingmyself https://www.instagram.com/p/CTDMuxXBkJ8/?utm_medium=tumblr
