"What is the difference between the world of nature and the world of man? There seems to be a complete difference in style, between the things that nature does, and the things of man. Even though man is OF nature. Nature is wiggly. Everything wiggles. The outlines of the hills, the shapes of the trees, the way the wind brushes the grass, the clouds, tracks of streams; it all wiggles. For some thing or another we find wiggly things hard to keep track of. Keep still we stay. Let's get things straighten out. Get it all squared away. Then somehow we think we can understand things. It seems clear once it's all straight lines and squares. Yet, with the loss in translation do we understand anything at all? You see human beings are just as wiggly as nature. Our brains are an incredible mess of wiggles, and such is the part of ourselves we understand least of all. This wiggliness is too complicated, and yet it is so very simple. Things only become complicated when we think about them." - Alan Watts.... At yoga lately we have been encouraged to get messy, let the sweat fall into your face, leave your shirt twisted up, fart, fall over, and keep going. Be in the messy process. Makes me think of this quote and feel humbled by the huge mess nature makes in Autumn as the leaves wiggle their way around the yard in such a beautiful chaos. Thank you for the seeds to my meditations Sri Tara. #growyoga #alanwatts #getmessy #seasonalattunement #5thchakrahealing
