⁣ Samsung Galaxy Note 10+⁣⁣ Taken on 23/05/2020.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you're ever thinking of visiting the Roero area in Piedmont, I'd recommend researching 'La rete sentieristica del Roero', a vast network of nature trails that crosses quaint historical villages with sublime views of the diverse landscape around the Roero hills. All the trails are circular, so you'll be able to return to the starting point without any issues.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ One of these trails is called 'Il sentiero dell'Acino' ('the Grape path') that allows you to visit three beautiful wine villages:⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ • Castellinaldo, a small village built high up on a hill and framed by vineyards,⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ • Castagnito with its Baroque churches and panoramic view of Castelverde,⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ • and Guarene that boasts a refined 18th-century castle which was the former residence of the Counts of Roero.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This is my photo of Guarene with the aforementioned residence looking absolutely stunning under the sun. I got there by walking from Castellinaldo via a ring-shaped path. A highly recommended walk!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Guarene is not easy to get to by public transport. Your best bet would be to take a bus from Asti or Alba with 'Giachinobus' which stops at the bottom of the village, but it'll take at least an hour to make it to the historical centre at the top.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Or, if you are planning to spend the whole day in the Roero area, take the same bus but make a stop at Govone with its impressive castle where the Savoy family used to reside, and then follow the trail for Magliano Alfieri, Castellinaldo and Guarene like I did.
