ᴛᴀɢꜱ: fluff, cuddling, headcanons, all comfort no angst. not proof read
ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀꜱ: gang orca(kugo sakamata), hawks(keigo takami), hound dog(ryo inui), miriko(rumi usagiyama), eraserhead (shota aziawa), gunhead
ᴅɪꜱᴄʟᴀɪᴍᴇʀ: ヾthis is a multi-fandom blog that is designed for mlm/nbmlm identifying readers! so if you're female or fem, she/her, she/they please do not follow or interact with my mlm related post!! Please respect this! ゛
kugo is rather reserved when it comes to affection, unsure of how to ask for it, and hopes you can simply pick up on hints. cuddling with you brings great comfort to him, especially when you're the one holding him. he's a little spoon all the way, regardless if you're smaller than him. he can find himself sleeping like a baby whenever it's you holding him. However, he likes holding you, too. lay your head on his chest as he rubs soothing circles on your back to lul you to sleep. he likes intertwing his hands with yours as he sleeps, for him its a very grounding and comforting feeling.
keigo clings. as soon as you lay next to him, he's latching onto you. curling his arms and wings around you and keeping you there. he's not picky when it comes to positions, but he really likes laying on top of you. due to his wings, he's a natural stomach sleeper, and resting on your chest is both comfortable and convenient for his wings. the mix of your heartbeat and you running your hand through his hair makes him sleep like a baby. he whines a lot when you try and pry him off, in the mornings he always tries to keep you in bed with him.
ryo loves cuddling, anytime, anywhere. he's, unironically, a lap dog. he's quick to make himself comfortable in your lap, whether he'd be sitting fully in it or laying down. your electricity bill is unbelievably high due to the fact he's an absolute heat box. having ac on is a requirement, especially during the summer. during the winter months, he's your savings grace in the cold. he's a big fan of spooning. curling his large body around you and nuzzling his snout in your hair. his arms as strong as they are very comfortable pillows to hold onto as you sleep. oh, and watch out for the drool.
rumi is a cuddle bunny and likes being held. she likes resting her head in between the hallow of your neck and shoulder, her strong arms curled around your torso. Hsr grip on you is like iron, and unless she's awake, she won't let go. you'd often find yourself carrying her around in the mornings since you literally can't pry her off. she'll wake up once you start cooking, though. she is a vivid dreamer, and her body is reactive when she's in a deep sleep. more often than not she'll accidentally kick or hit you while she sleeps. she apologizes for it in the morning. she likes to cuddle under loads of blankets with you, as hot as it gets its very comfortable.
shota loves to sleep, so it'd make sense he loves to cuddle, too. despite his complaining, he likes waking up in the morning, your arms and legs entangled around each other. he runs cold when he sleeps and loves spooking you awake with his cold hands or feet. shota likes to sleep facing you, waking up to your face is his favoriate thing ever. he likes holding you, embracing you in his arms holding you tight to his chest. his grip is surprisingly strong but its easy to break out of with a few tugs. when its his nap time snf your around he'll simply drape himself over you, whether hes in his sleeping bag or not.
gunhead is a cuddle monster, he loves pyshsical affection with you in general. he likse holding you when he reads, letting you rest on him with his hand on your hip, rubbing soothing circles into your skin. not picky about sleeping positions at all, its not like you'd wake up in the same spot anyway. sleeping with him is comfortable but chaotic as he moves often. its often that he wakes up drapped over your stomach or torso. hes another heatbox man but- its mostly bearable in contrast to the others. he's like warm spring heat, somewhere right in the middle of being hot and cold. his arms are the most comfortable things ever.
The existence of characters like Aizawa, Mandalay, and ESPECIALLY Knuckleduster makes me hate the ending of MHA even more, where it acts like Izuku couldn't continue being a hero with a Quirk and needed a suit.
Yes, Aizawa's Quirk disables other people's Quirks, but it has various downsides like him having to look at the enemy and it giving him dry eyes (and, in the end, he loses an eye). And his acrobatic abilities and telekinetically using his Binding Cloth have nothing to do with his Quirk, yet he's shown being able to fight various villains all the same. Heck, his mini-me Shinsou picked up on this fighting style in several months, when before, he didn't know how to fight and relied heavily on his Quirk.
Mandalay's Quirk is just one-way telepathy (she can give messages but can't receive any), yet she's a very capable fighter, being able to fight on par with Spinner during the Forest Camp Training Arc.
Knuckleduster, formerly O'Clock, had his Quirk stolen by All For One (somewhat similar to how Mirio lost his Quirk to the Quirk-Destroying bullet, and that guy was able to hold his own against Overhaul for 5 minutes) and still continued to fight (albeit as a vigilante). Dude's so strong that he was able to beat someone whose Quirk was powered up by Trigger (his Quirk, Bruiser, allows him to power up one of his limbs, making his attack stronger. With Trigger, his whole body is powered up, somewhat similar to Muscular). And he's skilled enough to fight on par with Aizawa.
He's also durable enough to tank Kendo's blows, who's strong enough to break Eijiro using his Quirk beyond its limit (Unbreakable).
All things considered, this just means that Izuku COULD have continued being a hero and a teacher (being a teacher isn't bad). Plus, it makes no sense that he got little to no acknowledgement from the public, to the point where people didn't know he even existed.
Not only that he could've continued being a hero without OFA, but that he didn't need a quirk in the first place!
I think people forget that Aizawa's quirk doesn't work on mutation quirks - meaning he's frequently at a disadvantage, especially if he doesn't know (because not all mutation quirks are obvious). This dude is effectively quirkless, he relies on his physical capabilities and support gear to win even WITH his quirk active. It's honestly a "weak" quirk when you think about it.
Mandalay, like Aizawa, is effectively quirkless too. Because her quirk is honestly situational at best and lowkey pointless at worse. It isn't like she can use it to gather information from enemies, she's best as a "support" in mission control based on her quirk and yet she's FRONTLINE, she's trained to fight and it annoys me so much because, again, effectively quirkless in a fight!
Knuckleduster annoys me, but another example of why Izuku didn't actually need the suit. Dude loses his quirk and proves he didn't need it to be a vigilante. Dude is a tank even if he feels the beatings afterwards, the fact he survives that crap from training alone? Legit quirkless and developed muscle and melee skills.
But the one that pisses me off the most is Gunhead because he legit just has guns for wrists - give Izuku a fucking gun! Gunhead, and Snipe too, annoy me so much, it's aiming a gun! And yes, Snipe's quirk turnings projectiles into homing rounds - MHA has technology that could easily achieve that.
Like, Izuku doesn't need mech suit, just let him train and get a capture gear and voila!
Back with more of the heroes!
Backdraft!
I hated drawing his hands, actually. And the whole one-eye has nothing to do with his quirk.
Juzo Moashi!
I made his outfit more brown based, and I also gave him a snatched waist.
I also just ripped his head straight off of his canon self.
Crimson Riot!
I had a bit of trouble figuring out what type of hair style to give his civilian fit. Cuz there's no way he'd be able to wear those three fuck ass points in his hair without being recognized.
Fourth Kind!
I decided to give him one of those tracheostomy tube things. I don't actually know what they're called?
But it's part of the whole Anyone Can Be A Hero thing, and I believe he could do it.
Gunhead!
Sorry not sorry, that's a trans man. A fruity ass trans man. And I love him.
Ken Takagi!
I had so much trouble with his hair when I drew him, but it turned out good.
And I also had to get rid of that fuck ass one piece body suit.
Selkie!
I referenced an actual spotted seal to draw him, and I think he turned out pretty cute.
Uwabami!
I actually really liked her hero costume already, so I just shortened it a little, and gave her more snake accessories.
Cathleen Bate!
I shortened her cape, because there's no way that long ass thing wouldn't be a problem, and I gave her more stars(there are supposedly 50 on her entire costume).
I also gave her star pupils and they're so cute!
Why Gunhead Feels Like the Strangest “Normal” Pro Hero in MHA
Gunhead is the ultimate example of Horikoshi’s love for deliberate tonal whiplash and subversion of expectations. On paper he looks and sounds like a walking 80s-90s action-movie cliché, yet everything about his actual personality and role in the story is the exact opposite. Here’s a full breakdown of why he’s so weirdly fascinating:
1. Visual Design vs. Personality: Maximum Contrast
Looks like: A grizzled, gun-obsessed mercenary who should be voiced by a chain-smoking ex-soldier.
Actually is: A soft-spoken, skincare-loving, cutesy mentor who teases teenage girls about their crushes and strikes adorable poses.
Ochaco literally calls him “cute” multiple times while describing the most hardcore close-quarters combat training imaginable. → This gap is played 100% for laughs and it works every single time.
2. The “Battle Hero” Who Never Gets a Real Battle
His agency literally specializes in armed, violent crime takedowns.
His Quirk is built for suppressive fire and CQC.
His martial arts are so good he turned Ochaco into a knife-fighting monster in one week.
Yet in the entire manga he never gets a single on-screen fight against a named villain.
Hosu Arc: off-screen patrol only
Shie Hassaikai: too busy to take interns
Final War: chases Tajima, catches the U.A. spies off-screen, then just yells at civilians to run → He’s a walking Chekhov’s gun that never fires. The strongest background adult hero who exists only to make everyone else stronger.
3. The One-Week Wonder Teacher
In just five days he taught Ochaco:
Knife defense and counter-attacks
Fluid evasion and redirection
How to fight armed opponents bare-handed
This training directly allowed Ochaco to:
Survive Toga multiple times
Beat a giant in the Joint Training Arc
Go toe-to-toe with Awakened Toga in the Final War → Gunhead indirectly has one of the highest “plot impact per panel” ratios of any adult hero. He changed the entire late-series power curve for Class 1-A girls and we barely see him.
4. Quirk That Looks OP… But Isn’t Really
Gatling: Shoots keratin claw-bullets from arm guns.
Sounds insane on paper (basically organic machine guns).
Reality: Described as “suppressive fire” only, low individual bullet power, short range.
He never uses it on-screen even once. → Another deliberate subversion. His real weapon is martial arts, not his Quirk.
5. Final War Role: Perfectly Fits His Personality
Instead of fighting villains, he spends the entire war protecting terrified civilians and catching the U.A. traitors.
He’s the guy making sure old ladies and children don’t die when the shelter collapses.
Even when he finally gets to chase a villain (Tajima), he does it calmly and professionally, then immediately switches back to evacuation mode. → He’s the embodiment of what a “real” pro hero actually does 99% of the time: paperwork, patrols, civilian safety, and training the next generation, not flashy battles.
6. The Ultimate Proof That Looks Mean Nothing
Gunhead is Horikoshi’s blunt message to the audience: “Don’t judge a hero by their costume or Quirk name.” He looks like a violent anti-hero from a different manga, but he’s one of the kindest, most responsible, and most effective adult heroes in the entire series.
Final Verdict
Gunhead is strange precisely because he’s the most normal pro hero in the entire story, just wrapped in the most misleading packaging possible. He’s what every hero is supposed to be when the cameras aren’t rolling: professional, kind, protective, and dedicated to teaching the next generation.
In a series full of tragic backstories and world-ending stakes, Gunhead is the quiet reminder that most heroes are just… good people doing their job. And somehow that makes him one of the most memorable side characters in the whole manga.
Very honored to have the opportunity to create a VGenComm for the lovely @/doomface
Thank you for giving me the chance to create this for you!!
