1) What made you ship it ?

Honestly, the fans. I was pretty new to Tumblr when LWA was released, I had only joined because it was the only site where there were people posting about Izetta : The Last Witch, and I think some of those people started posting about LWA when the first ep aired. Looking into it, I found old posts and art from when the OVAs were released and the ship seemed pretty cute, so I watched the OVAs and fell in love with Tsundere Diana and her Genki rival Akko. Their shenanigans in the OVAs were seriously priceless XD But I also love the more composed and rational Diana of the series, so the ship easily became my OTP for the series.

2) What are your favourite things about the ship ?

The star crossed lovers feel it gives off. They both loved Chariot as kids, but because their backgrounds are so different, they grew up to be completely different people with clashing views of the “correct way” to be a witch. But most of all, I love how they both help each other evolve : Diana challenges Akko and all of her beliefs, resulting in Akko quesitoning herself and coming out of it stronger and more confident in herself than before, while Akko challenges the entire witch society that Diana had resigned herself to conform to, making Diana really believe in magic again and the wonder it can bring. And at the same time, they also help and comfort each other on multiple occasions in the series, showing that they are able to adapt and provide the other with what she needs when she needs it. They’re a really balanced out couple despite their differences and their dynamic is really interesting to explore.

3) Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship ?

I don’t think so, I don’t remember seeing anything in the fandom really clashing with my theories or opinions.

Have you heard about the mangaka Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro? A close friend of Oda’s and author of the manga Toriko, which Shonen Jump tried pushing super hard in the mid 2010’s? Yeah, that guy was convicted of hiring a child prostitute in the early 2000’s, and Oda’s still friends with him. I ain’t gonna shame One Piece fans, since I understand the desire to separate the art from the artist, but seriously fuck the artist in this instance.

YIKES. I knew about the shit with Ruroni Kenshin’s author, but that’s even more fucked up. God, why are Shonen Jump authors so unwilling to hold each other accountable?

I have seen the original short, and loved it! I haven’t watched the second one (there was a second one, right?) or the series. I have what I’m gonna do next pretty well sewn up for the moment, I think, but I’ll definitely keep that in mind for the future-- I did really love that short! I think I referred to Claudine as Diana Cavendish for a bit before we learnt her name, didn’t I...?

i’ve said this before and i’ve said this again: XV should have been two seasons. everything with Noble Red and Shitty Old Guy should have been one season and Shem-ha and new minor villains should’ve been the grand finale, as a result of how XV was everyone kind of suffered a bit from lack of proper screentime

Oh hey interesting one! Hm Todoroki ships... NOTP: TodoDeku probably. I just don’t like it very much, and then it was super pushed constantly. BrOTP: Not bros exactly, but I think a good chunk of all Bakugou/Todoroki interaction is completely hilarious. OTP: I love InaTodo a lot lololol. They’ve got a nice aesthetic going on and really good chemistry. Second-Choice/Fluffy pairing: TodoMomo is very cute! Usually when I see it in stuff it’s a background ship, but that’s still epic. Angsty: Okay I know I said it was my NOTP above, and honestly this is less angsty than it is like. Vaguely mean. But TodoDeku epic divorce moments cringe compilation (HE CRIES). Favorite poly ship: cop-out BUT honestly when he hangs out with Ochako and Iida in stuff, that always makes me smile. Dekusquad is like, kinda a fandom thing but it’s still very good in concept. Weirdest ship: honestly I feel like I haven’t seen any super out-there ones. I feel like I could get on board w a lot of them, though.
