𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | @beefandbirds on Brick Lane maybe the only place on that stretch that sells (meat) burgers. The menu boasts 28 day aged, organic, ethically sourced beef, and 24 hour brined chicken, only using the best ingredients they can find. The restaurant is also halal. It’s not just burgers here, you’ve got a range of wings, including dark chocolate bbq wings, which I really enjoyed, truffle mac and cheese, short rib, which again I was pretty impressed with, especially their beef gravy, also the chilli potatoes were a treat. I do feel slightly mis-sold by the burgers though. From my experience I’d say the patties were wholesale, and they certainly look different to the ones used in their photos, so I’m not sure if they changed supplier, but the quality was just not there. I didn’t really get that aged beef taste at all. The burgers weren’t bad, in fact I really liked the Dirty Diana, which comes with mushrooms and a mustard and peppercorn sauce. But that’s as an overall taste combination, it wasn’t really the beef that played a part in that. They don’t seem to be hand formed patties that a butcher would supply you, and you can usually tell this by the patty being too perfectly round. The Clucky The Vampire Slayer burger again was fine for taste, but the chicken itself wasn’t really anything that would compete with the best. I think with some concentration on getting the meat right then this has potential, but it just doesn’t meet my standards I’m afraid. I’ll say once again, I enjoyed the food here, and nothing was bad, so thank you to @beefandbirds for having me down and I hope you appreciate the feedback. . . . . . . #bricklane #spitalfields #shoredtich #halalfoodlondon #halalburger #halallondon #burger #burgers #cheeseburger #shortrib #halalfood (at Beef & Birds) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9GmbhOnqCr/?igshid=1rn4joraxnrhp
