Now that I use tumblr more I want to say I'm still disappointed in the Mistborn fandom. After I read The Final Empire I was completely obsessed (of course) and there was one thing I was 100% sure about: Ham and Breeze were gay af and in love. Like, I had no doubts about it. I genuinely thought it was canon but just not explicitely mentioned because it wasn't relevant. Imagine my surprise when I got to book two and not only were they not gay and not in love, BUT NO ONE ELSE IN THE FANDOM HAD SEEN MY VISION. Even now nobody sees my vision. I went on ao3 and there were only like, 8 fanfics for the two of them. This has never happened to me before or since. Even the tumblr girlies, you all have failed mee :(

Okay if they gender-swap Ham for the movie, they have to keep Ham's wife (Mardra) the same (a woman), and the children being their children with no explanation as to how they came to this world. I can even see Vin asking, in her all her glorious bluntness, and Ham saying "does it even matter? even the possibility they can have noble blood is reason enough for the Lord Ruler to kill them."

And, sidenote, the amount of stuff you pull off with a lesbian Ham and a gay Breeze! Like don't change their dynamic, and it still works, but add the factor of them being the queer people on the crew and their friendship and banter gets even more dimension.

not gonna lie I really only care about three things casting wise for the mistborn adaptation. 1. ham cannot be white. 2. kelsier must be blond. and most importantly, 3. the lerati designs need to be heavily revisited because holy shit they're ugly
