Day 19 -- Hand-me-down
Millet was the youngest in a dauric family with siblings measured by the baker's dozen, which meant her clothes would usually be ill-fitting, and she would never be cold.
I should get out of bed? Why would I do that?!
Baby Loki wearing Thor’s old baby clothes until Frigga can dress him in clothes of his own.
So nearthe end of 2019 I created a little sort of gachapon style game when tabling conventions was still a thing!
Basically I had this box
Each envelope was tucked away and shuffled around and had a different little boat in it, hand painted in watercolor and inked. Each had a name and a description on the back. I’m currently all sold out but wanted to make little like travel postcards - ergo the first two images.
"Quentin, I heard something happened-" Bubba spotted the glove and frowned, instantly concerned, "Oh god- Are you okay?" -loveybubba (HES HERE SOMEONE CAME TO MY INBOX AND I KNEW I NEEDED TO COME) ((HOPEFULLY THIS IS OKAY))
((UR FINE BRO
IDK IF BUBBA WILL BE THOUGH))
Quentin’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing his friend’s voice. He whipped around to face him, panic clear on his face. His claws clicked together in anticipation, reacting to its host’s fear.
“Don’t come any closer!” he shouted, taking several hasty steps back.
Hand-me-down
"A garment or other item that has been passed on from another person."
In most cases, a new item is better received than a hand-me-down. When there are two siblings, with relatively small difference in age between them, the youngest usually receive hand-me-down items. This situation is exacerbated, in the eyes of the youngest sibling, if the number of siblings are greater than two. However, in other cases, there are hand-me-downs that cannot be compared with anything new, because these items are one of a kind items. These hand-me-downs are special and are usually well-received, they are usually cherished being the only of its kind.
For example: On display at the Smithsonian National Museum, are a collection of gowns that were worn by the wives of the respective presidents of the United States of America. These gowns are not replicas, they are the very gowns worn by the current and former First Ladies. These gowns are cherished by the museum.
The Bible, in Ephesians 6:10-17 KJV, speaks of the Christian battle armor. It is the armor of GOD. It is important that we stop and meditate on the previous statement, "the armor of GOD".
In 1 Samuel 17 , there is the record of David vs Goliath. In 1 Samuel 17: 38-39, we see David being armed in the armor of King Saul. This example is being used to merely bring our attention to the meaning of the armor of GOD; nothing else is being suggested from this example. The armor of GOD has been given to the Christian. This is the armor that GOD HIMSELF wore in battle. This is the armor CHRIST wore and triumph over Satan while HE walked the earth as us. We are given this armor. We are given GOD's armor that has been proven, therefore there is no reason to ever take it off. The armor that we are given has the sweat and blood of CHRIST in it, and on it. We are not to delay in putting it on.
The armor of GOD as spoken of in Ephesians 6:10-17KJV, is the armor CHRIST wore as prophesied in Isaiah 59: 16-17KJV:
"And he (GOD) saw that there was no man (All being lost), and wondered that there was no intercessor (None to save the lost race of man): therefore his arm (CHRIST) brought salvation unto him (GOD), and his (GOD) righteousness, it sustained him (CHRIST).
For he (CHRIST) put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his (CHRIST) head; and he (CHRIST) put on the garments of vengeance for clothing (As described in details in Ephesians 6:10-17KJV), and was clad with zeal as a cloke."
CHRIST wore it and HE has now called us to wear it. GOD has not called us to wear a armor like unto HIS. GOD has not called us to wear an exact copy of HIS armor. GOD has given us HIS very own armor, an armor proven in battle. This is true. This is our hand-me-down. Amen.
The best finishing touch to my new enclosure: A fabulous hidey hut mansion from my hero Waffles @wafflesworld. Waffles outgrew this hidey hut many, many years ago, but it’s still plenty big for me to STOMP in! I love it!! 🏠😍🐢
