December 2017: A handara minarai has been spotted, and she’s from Pontocho! This means that she was one of the girls that took part in the odori poster shoot the other day, so she may not be alone in her minarai period! Her geimei is currently unknown but she appears to be from Yamaguchi (やまぐち) as we saw Momika (もみ香) wearing the exact same outfit earlier this year. October 4th, 2017: Fumine (文音) of Okatome (岡とめ) has her first official portrait taken! Along with this image has come the announcement of her misedashi; it will be taking place next week on October 11th! October 4th, 2017: Today at the Zuiki Matsuri in Kamishichiken another surprise has appeared! Standing beside Naokinu (尚絹) and Naoai (尚あい) of Nakasato () is a new minarai! The newest minarai in Kyoto is from Daimonji (大文字) and her geimei is Katsuki (勝貴)! Right now it’s not known who her onesan is, but as a huge Yuri on Ice fan I approve of her geimei. September 23rd, 2017: A third minarai from Gion Higashi has made her debut! This time, it was the aforementioned Tomikiku (富菊) minarai that we’ve been waiting so long to hear about! Although I cannot find her name a reader has suggested that it is Tomichie (富千英), and it is very likely that Tomitae (富多愛) will be her onesan. Her misedashi date is unknown, but it will likely be before the Gion Odori in October. With two active minarai and a new maiko Gion Higashi is shaping up to be the second most active kagai this year, so congratulations are in order for them! Image is courtesy of Miyabi.66 on Instagram.
We finally have a date for the double misedashi of Toshinami (とし菜実) and Toshinana (とし七菜) of Komaya (駒屋) in Miyagawa Cho! Their debut will be on November 1st, which is two weeks from today at the time of writing. Their onesan is still unknown, but I’m trying to find this information.
