February 24th, 2026: A new maiko has made her debut in the karyukai today! Mameshizu (豆しず) of Dainui (大ヌイ) in Gion Kobu is celebrating her misedashi! She is the second debut from the newly re-opened Dainui okiya and, like her okiya onesan Mamekiyo, is the imōto of the great Mamehiro (豆弘) of Ninben (亻). In a nod to her naming line's roots, she is wearing an eri and obi that once belonged to Shibata (柴田), the okiya that Mamehiro debuted from! Her outfit features shōchikubai, lucky treasures, and kusudama with a gosho guruma obi ^^ おめでとうさんどす豆しずちゃん ^o^! Image is courtesy of My Kyoto Photo.

A lot has been happening in Miyajimacho in the recent days.

Our shikomi has passed her exam and is making her minarai debut today - this also means the date for her misedashi, or official debut, is set! Fumikiyo, imouto of Ayatsuki, will have her debut on December 12th!

The uchi iwai - a paper wrapping for tenugui gifts given to patrons and businesses - features her misedashi date as well as information about her name, okiya and older sister, with her first hanameishi attached. After a year of hard work and learning, she will make her first steps as a maiko. Please support her in her future career!

7. March 2023: Kikuyu 喜久有 debuted in Gifu, one of only three to four Maiko in the entire prefecture. Congratulations!

9th of May 2019: Misedashi of Maiko Mameaya from the Ninben Okiya of Gion Kobu!

Mameaya is one of the two first Maiko to debut in the new Reiwa period, alongside Fukusono of Miyagawacho who also had her debut on May 9th. Mameaya is the imouto of senior Geiko Mameya, who is also the onee-san of Maiko Mamesaya. She is the fifth currently active Maiko from Shibata/Ninben, but Mamesumi will have her Erikae on the 30th, so this day is an extra happy occasion for the okiya!

23 เมษายน 2562: ผมทรง Wareshinobu และเครื่องประดับผมสำหรับพิธีแสดงตัวครั้งแรกของไมโกะ Kimishou (โอกิยะ Honjo) จากเขต Miyagawacho ในจังหวัด Kyoto

ผมทรง Wareshinobu (割れしのぶ) เป็นทรงผมสำหรับไมโกะรุ่นน้อง คือไมโกะที่เพิ่งเริ่มงานไม่นานและมักมีอายุต่ำกว่า 18 ปี เมื่อสังเกตผมทรงนี้จากด้านหน้า จะเห็นผมเป็น 3 ส่วน คือส่วนคล้ายปีกสองข้างของศีรษะ และส่วนของผมมัดเล็กๆ เหนือหน้าผากด้านบนที่ถูกดึงไปด้านหลัง จากด้านหลังจะเห็นผมเป็น 3 ส่วนเช่นกัน แต่แบ่งเป็นส่วนคล้ายปีกสองข้างทางซ้ายและขวา และมวยผมด้านบนตรงกลาง ที่ถูกม้วนไว้คล้ายดังโงะด้วยผ้าสีแดง

นอกจากไมโกะรุ่นน้องแล้ว ในวันพิธีแสดงตัวครั้งแรก (店出し : Misedashi) ไมโกะคนนั้นก็จะทำผมทรงนี้เช่นกัน แต่จะเพิ่มเครื่องประดับผมรูปพัดสีเงินจากปกติที่จะสวมเพียงชิ้นเดียวเป็นสองชิ้น พร้อมกับเครื่องประดับผมแบบพิเศษที่ทำจากกระ
