I may have ordered three new hand spindles for no other reason than: I wanna.

Back from this year’s Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival -- I bought a basket, a weaving kit (the green-purple skeins of tencel), a knitting kit from A Hundred Ravens (for a two color shawl), a handspindle made out of spalted wood, two different monofloral honeys, a jar of maple sugar, 1 ounce of Himalayan cashmere fiber, 2 fish pepper plants, 1 poblano plant, 1 Amish Paste tomato plant, 2 basil, and 3 cotton plants (3 green lint, 1 Nankeen brown).

I have a new spindle!!

It's a nice dark wood, and much lighter than my other two spindles for ease of spinning thin thread. It runs really well, it's probably the highest quality spindle i own, not that I don't appreciate the other ones or they don't work, but it's the first high quality spindle i bought from a proper spindle maker, and it's genuinely noticeable and really cool

I love the fulfilment of making things from scratch and of course this also applies to wool. A friend of mine gave time this wool ages ago, then I got the bottom whirl spindle and on and off I have been spinning, I love it but still it is hard to accomplish ; I need more practise.
