I got in the car to drive my friend around today, after accidentally entering the code to my phone wrong in my pocket too many times. And my car autoplayed the last audio I had been listening to. Which was the romance novel audiobook sex scene. And because I was locked out of my phone for ten minutes, I had no way to pause it. So I ended up quasi-yelling over it for a bit until I had the wherewithal to turn the volume down to zero.

North Atlantic Adventure

For the next month and a half my postings are likely to be erratic. I have queued a few posts, but the summer of 2023 proved a difficult one as my wife was in the hospital for two and a half weeks. She has recovered well, but I have had little enough time to select and edit photos for posting. In consequence I do not have an archive of photos to post while away from home.

Now I am packing to leave Tuesday for a month in various North Atlantic places with longish stays in Norway, Iceland and Quebec, sailing between them with visits to several islands (Shetlands, Faeroes, Greenland, Newfoundland). For a decade or so we have been planning such a trip, and finally it is about to happen. The combination of being busy and out of internet coverage means postings are likely to be erratic until mid October.

[Sadly we do not have enough time in Norway to visit Hareid, my paternal grandfather's home. Given how much my brother-in-law, who has done most of the trip planning, has included, however, we are likely to see much (too much?).]
