hello not to have absolutely no chill whatsoever but i started reading "at a snail's pace" which is by @hazelbeka-blog and it's their oc kawaguchi x tenzou and in the v first chapter, tenzou gets burned and kawaguchi takes off his mask and i just imagined him so fresh faced i wanted to draw him, even with soot all over him, and then *will smith presenting pose*

It's Spotlight Saturday and that means spreading a bit of light and love on something or someone in your fandom that you enjoy and want to shine a light on. My pick this week is both a fic and an author:

Sinew and Starlight - by HazelBeka

Let me first start off by saying that I've been a fan of Hazel for a long time. Their writing has always been a joy to read, and honestly, I was pretty bummed out that they all but vanished from fandom for a few years.

But, this year they returned to the fandom! (In case any of you have been under a rock lol).

All of their works are amazing, and one of my favourites is From The Dust, which is just *chefs kiss* utterly brilliant (if you enjoy seals master Iruka and murder mysteries, you'll love this!).

Anyway, a few weeks ago, Hazel wrote me the most wonderful fic that legit had me in tears, and reflected a lot of my own feelings as a trans person. I don't really talk publicly about my gender dysphoria - it's something I keep to private spaces, and so I'm not going to really speak much on that here, but let me tell you, the care that was put into this fic means so fucking much to me and I need you guys to know how utterly wonderful both this fic and Hazel are.

Here's a little snippet:

He is not a body, not something that can be gendered with a look. He is only sinew and starlight, senses and self. The world has changed around him, become a layered symphony of scents and sounds, as though it has opened itself to him, welcomed him. He isn’t human now. He is something entirely Other, has always been Other, but so is the rest of the world.

omggggg thank you so much! Haha I wanted to write it so bad but I had to wait until after work and I had to go through almost a thousand notes to make sure no one else had written fic yet bc I am insecure about my skill conpared to other writers BUTamazing people like you who take the time out of their day to tell me that you appreciated my work make me SO HAPPY THAT BEING SAIDYES ALL THE HUNK. Seriously that boy, he could probably lift Lance with one hand and keith with the other. Also yessss he’s that adorable dork who is 95% unaware of the effect he has on people. Also he doesn’t usually exercise, so this sort of story is a special occasion. On the other hand, since I imagine Hunk’s engineering work is probably pretty physical, I like to imagine Lance casually hanging out in the hangars to watch Hunk work, occasionally asking ridiculous questions or rambling about nothing but mostly just enjoying the view ;)Thanks again for the kind word!! :D

I LOVE bnha but I've only watched the anime. Need to read the manga! And lol I get you with the names - there are so many damn characters, I can barely remember any. All Might is my fave though <3 and the other teacher with the eyes (Aizawa...?)

I don’t like watching any anime bc I can’t control how fast it goes :/ And also bc I watch them in japanese, i have to have my full attention on it, and it takes a lot to keep my full attention for 20+ mins. Plus I find that the anime often leaves a lot of things out, so for me its just a lot easier to read it so I can just put it down whenever I need to. And yeah Aizawa is probs my second fav as well
