okay i have been meaning to post these headcanons for some time now, so HERE IS MY FAMILY headcanons (actually these are all like just about their moms but ...) for nova, wyatt & zed ... because i feel like we need some headcanons here for what's up with them ...

nova: her mom left at a very young age, she really doesn't even remember her. the only piece of her mother she has is her middle name, aurora. why aurora left exactly is still a mystery even to commander bright, he just woke up one day & she was gone. along with all her stuff. maybe being the wife to a commander was too much. it doesn't matter. nova has grown up as well-adjusted as she can without a mother & with her father being ... the way he is. but she has definitely always felt that longing for a motherly figure in her life.

wyatt: wyatt & willa's mother, wilhelmina, abandoned them in the forest when they were just tiny wolf pups - where they were then eventually found by the elders of the pack & raised in the pack - however it wasn't entirely by choice. or at least, at the time, it felt like her only choice. she was on the run from hunters, didn't think she'd make it out, let alone her children. so just had to what she thought was giving them their best chance, & just had to hope someone safe would find them. wyatt, due to obviously being unaware of this does have some resentment towards his & willa's birth parents but the elders & the pack did a good enough job of raising them it's not too strong.

zed: zed & zoey's mom, zara, unfortunately passed away not long after zoey was born. getting sick in zombietown & seabrook doctors not being the most willing or best equipped to treat zombies wasn't a great combination. zed was only about seven when she passed & really only has some vague memories of her, zoey not remembering her at all. due to this, zed doesn't really talk about her or think about her much, but her memory is still alive in the necrodopolis home if you look close enough. it's hard for zed to say he misses her when he doesn't really remember her, but he does wish she could've been around for zoey.

thinking about steve. and how, sometimes, things get too much for him and he chases the comfort of your embrace to ground himself. how he's begging to touch you, just to feel the adrenaline rush that comes with it, to counter the numbness. how he finds excuses to let his hands wander around your body, finding solace in the curves and dips and bumps, letting his lips do the same because suddenly every inch of your body needs to be in contact with his. how he's begging to make you his, for the millionth time, because it gives him a sense of purpose. going at your skin with fervour, biting and scratching, not out of malice but to worship. how, when he's burying himself deep, the battle inside his head comes to a grinding halt, becoming eerily quiet, save for the soft sighs and mewls that escape your lips in your throes of pleasure. how, when that deep ache blossoms its way upwards from his core, he whispers, "thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, baby." thank you for saving him.

it  was  after  jim’s  stint  in  vietnam  that  the  anxiety  started.   or  maybe  it  had  always  been  there  ,  lying  dormant  until  life  fucked  him  up  enough  to  allow  it  to  weasel  through.    he’d  come  back  to  hawkins  with  the  intent  to  leave  ,  he  came  back   .  .  .  different  after  the  war    ━    a  little  more  rough  around  his  rough  edges.   he  kept  it  to  himself  mostly   he  knew  what  his  old  man  would  think  of  these  issues  he  came  back  with.    it   isn’t  until  sara  falls  ill  in  1977  that  jim  decides  he  needs  to  something  about  the  feeling  of  impending  doom  that’s  stuck  with  him  since  his  return.     he  started  valium  in  1978  and  used  consistently  from  ‘79 - ‘83   ,    relying  heavily  on  the  drug  to  get  him  through  the  days   ━   even  more  so  once  his  daughter’s  death  occurs  in  ‘78.  

this  is  also  when  he  began  to  rely  heavily  on  alcohol  ,  his  particular  drink  of  choice  for  times  like  these  was  WHISKEY  ,   neat.   always  neat.  never  any  different  and  it  used  to  only  be  from  time  to  time  when  he  really  needed  to  take  the  edge  off  then  it  became  nightly  and  that  wedge  that  had  already  begun  to  form  between  himself  and  diane  had  finally  severed  their  tie  when  he  stumbled  in  for  the  fifth  night  that  week.      HE  NEVER  WENT  BACK TO  NEW  YORK  AFTER  THEIR  DIVORCE  WAS  FINAL.     

returning  to  hawkins  was  like  a  fever  dream  probably  because  he  spent  the  first  week  back  out  of  his  mind     ━     and  a  lot  of  days  over  the  next  four  years  too.    he  would  mostly  do  this  in  the  privacy  of  his  own  home    .    .    .   it  was  one  thing  for  people  to  simply  know  their  chief  of  police  was  a  drunk  and  another  to  see  it.   every  now  and  then  he  would  venture  out  to  a  little  hideaway  when  drinking  alone  wasn’t  enough  and  his  bed  felt  too  big  and  he’d  find  shelter  in  someone  else  for  the  night.   marisa  ...  sandra   ...  kelly  ...  stacey   .    .    .    sex  became  just  like  the  pills  just  like  the  drink  it  was  a  way  to  get  out  for  a  little  while.     1978  -  1983   could  all  be  considered  a  bit  of  a  blur  to  jim  hopper  and  you  could  say  it  was  the  vanishing  of  will  byers  that  began  to  bring  him  back  to  earth.   

the  threat  that  hawkins  lab  had  dished  out  of  making  his  death  look  like  an  overdose  made  him  put  down  the  pills   ━   he  still  has  a  beer  from  time  to  time  but  it’s  in  extreme  moderation    .    .   .  that  was  el’s  influence.   he  had  a  kid  again  ,  he   had  to  be  there.    retiring  his  casanova  ways  could  also  be  accredited  to  the  girl  and  if  anyone  asks  that’s  the  reason  he’ll  give  them.   you  can’t  exactly  bring  women  home  when  there’s  a  kid  at  home,   el  was  the  reason  nothing  more,   definitely  not  the  woman  who’d  been  brought  back  into  his  life.   

but,   like  any  addict   .   .   .  he  didn’t  exactly  quit  everything  cold  turkey  he  still  enjoyed  his  cigarettes  and  he’d  since  replaced  that  boozy  drugged  out  feeling  with  that  of  food.   flo’s  been  telling  him  to  eat  healthier  forever.    he   gave  up  his  pills  ,  he  gave  up  his  excess  drinking  ,  he  gave  up  his  women   .   .  .  .   he’ll  take  a  little  junk  food  every  now  and  then  to  keep  him  sane.

Batkids Breaking stuff

Dick- He's pretty good at not breaking things being all graceful, except when it comes to acrobatics in the house

He gets fully into the zone and next thing you know he’s broken another valuable artefact

The first time he broke something when he was first adopted he was so scared Bruce would hate him for it but Bruce was just like eh it was pretty ugly anyways

Always apologises but is relieved when Bruce says its fine

Leaves multiple things broken in the training room though, even as a kid

Punched a couple holes in the training objects/walls but wouldn't dream of it in the manor

He got better when he was older but he was the reason Bruce put most valuable artefacts away

It was Bruce’s first interaction with ‘baby proofing’

Bruce definitely has a drawing somewhere of something Dick broke and tried to draw to replace it so he wouldn't notice

The number of chandeliers Bruce has replaced because of him-

Barbara- Has the one of the least track records for braking things

She did break something in the Batcave once and she and Dick spent all night fixing it 

Bruce pretended he didn’t notice

She broke a glass once but that was because someone jumped out at her and she dropped it

Covers for the others when they were younger and worried about breaking something

Bruce always knows it wasn't her

Jason- I mean Jason’s first interaction was stealing the bat mobile wheels what was Bruce expecting

Normally it’s just small things he breaks often Bruce won't even notice but every now and then he’s like wait where’s the cabinet handle? Is there a chip in that frame?

Except when he comes home drunk in which case he leaves a trail of broken things he’s stumbled into on his way 

Leaves knife marks in the table- lots of them

Breaks so many plates/bowls/glasses

Never apologises for breaking anything. He’s a billionaire why does he care?

there are multiple holes in the wall that Bruce has had patched up where Jason punched the wall

Tim- Knocks stuff over when he’s tired but at this point Bruce doesn’t care unless it was something important on purpose

Half the time he doesn’t even know who broke what

He frantically tried to fix things at first or find something to replace it but quickly realised Bruce didn’t care

Tim’s definitely broken the coffee machine at least twice

Broken his fair share of mugs/crockery

Once he passed out and pulled a bookshelf down on himself and Bruce was just like wtf

Normally swears in the way of an apology

Harper- She breaks stuff a fair bit

The training room has suffered her wraith

shot an arrow through a window once

She’ll apologise if it’s something big but she only directs the apology to Alfred

Duke- The first time he broke something in the manor he didn’t stop apologising to Bruce and Alfred for the rest of the day and he offered to replace it

He was scared to even use the training equipment at first in case he broke it

Broke a plate once and freaked out about it but Bruce just saw it and was like huh Jason break another plate?

Eventually he realises Bruce is used to it but he still apologises frantically

He’s pretty good at not breaking anything but there’s still the occasional slip

Stephanie- If she breaks something she always does it in style/has a great story

Always apologises and gives a dozen explanations

For example: I broke this mini glass statue because I roller-skated down the hall because I was worried I would miss the introduction to my favourite how but I slipped on spilt milk and grabbed for the shelf and brought it down with me

Has broken multiple windows- Tim’s because she was locked out and decided to throw rocks at it but threw a little too hard, the kitchen window because they were playing baseball inside, The dining room window because they were playing hide n seek and someone was coming and she couldn't get it open so she just shattered it and jumped through

Cassandra- has broken the least amount of things in the manor

She broke a mirror once when she first moved in because someone came up behind her and she spun and knocked it

That’s it- she’s far too graceful and eloquent for such mistakes

Damian- Bruce thought Dick and Jason were bad but Damian is terrible

All of the training equipment is broken so easily

almost put more holes in the walls than Jason

Broke 2 windows

Broke quite a few gadgets-his and Tim’s

Stabbed the couch once

If you include all the damage his pets have done no one will beat his record

Alfred the cat loves pushing things off benches like all cats do, though human Alfred insists it’s one of the kids if anyone asks
