so that fucks him up in the start, add to insecurities of people leaving him (which is... what happens), leads him to be manipulative and toxic to keep people around him longer no matter the cost, in addition to drug withdrawal, addiction and use?

His whole thing is he tries to be better, but Rune (basically think a sister figure or a mom figure? his "closest" friend) grows tired one day, snaps, and goes way way too far

She brings up all his insecurities, everything he's done, every mistake he's made, everything she "had" to clean up, and how he's clingy, immature, draining, and always acting like a spoiled brat

then refuses to talk to him

and that causes the divide between characters and the start of his path to evil bc "if everyone wants me to be a villain, if fate wants me to be a villain, I might as well be good at one thing"
