This is a #askthepack , I wanted to know more about Chan as head alpha! Is that something the pack agreed on or is it a biological / natural thing that came about? Same with Hyunjin as pack luna!
"Okay, so we're gonna try to answer this without giving away too many spoilers for the prequel." Chan laughs, reaching up to run a hand through his tousled curls.
You can already tell he's getting overwhelmed with all the attention on him, his cheeks going a light pink, sweeping up to the tips of his ears.
"It's biology." Seungmin deadpans, arching a brow, almost daring anyone to disagree with him-the biology major.
"I'm not arguing with that." Changbin interjects, brave enough to go against his moonmate, though he's already holding his palms out like a peace offering, just in case. "But I do also think there's some personal decision making involved, even as small as it may be."
Seungmin sighs patiently. "Okay. But the main thing is biology. It's all based on scents and pack mentality and the 'strongest and weakest link' no matter how cruel that may sound. Wolves don't care about personal alliances or feelings when creating a pack. They elect the strongest as their leader and that's that. The one that will guarantee their survival."
"Same thing with the luna." Jisung points out, serious for once, looking absolutely triumphant that he has something scientific to contribute to this conversation. "I see it every day in vet work. Dogs will absolutely always pick the strongest, most suitable mate to carry on their genes in their pups."
"Oh gee, thanks." Hyunjin scoffs, rolling his eyes.
"We're fucked then." Minho smirks, directing his gaze to the luna now. "Hyunjinnie's never letting a pup anywhere near his perfectly sculpted body."
"Damn straight." Hyunjin sniffs, straightening his shoulders and crossing his arms over his chest. "My womb will remain empty, thank you very much. Dry and dusty is how I like it."
"Back to Chan as alpha-" You say, considering, and everyone turns to look at you now. "-I think you're both right-" You motion to Seungmin and Changbin. "-I think it's mainly biology at play, which I hate to say, because biology's a bitch and I hate that our lives are so overly controlled by it, but it is what it is. I also agree, though, that personal relationships and feelings play a role."
"Do they though?" Seungmin arches a brow again, and you can tell he's not trying to be controversial, just thought invoking. "Because you hated hyung's guts when you first met him, and yet, here he is, your head alpha."
"Hey. I didn't hate his guts." You protest, and Chan grins, reaching out to lay a hand on your forearm as you get fired up. "I was annoyed that Changbin tried to set us up, and that reflected negatively on my opinion of him for awhile, but I didn't hate him."
"Sure." Hyunjin grins wickedly, and you flip him off.
"I think there was kind of a moment-" Felix speaks up from beside Minho, looking thoughtful, even amongst the bickering. "-where, at least for me, when we were finally all together together, that my omega kinda just went 'yeah, this is right. He's the one.'"
"It's harder for me to say that-" Minho remarks, shrugging slightly, even as you and Changbin nod. "-because Alphas don't typically love to give over control or dominance to someone else, so I don't think I had such a crystal clear moment regarding Christopher, but I definitely began to see myself defer to him in certain situations as time went on."
"Yeah." Changbin acknowledges, nodding now. "Over time, I could feel my alpha start to look to him for guidance."
"God, I hate this." Chan groans, covering his face with his hands now, blushing hard.
You giggle and reach over to peck his cheek. "But we love you."
