morning routines. for headcanons. how much time does each buggigang member spend on getting ready for the day
You asked me this like a million years ago and I suck for not answering it until now but HERE GOES:
Bruno Bucciarati:
His hair is the time-eater here. That style involves braiding and pinning and spraying down and the hair has to be carefully set and squeaky clean before it starts, so a daily morning shower is a must, and that means taking the hair down, getting it shampoo'd and conditioned, etc. The hair's what he spends the bulk of his time on. I'm pretty sure that he has his Stand do it if he doesn't have a partner around to do it for him, and he's probably quite fussy enough about it that he wants it done JUST SO.
But he doesn't do any kind of makeup or face routine at all. I don't even think he moisturizes or sunscreens. Splash of aftershave or perfume, depending. Probably about an hour, adding in time for hair and the occasional chest wax.
Leone Abbacchio:
Drags himself out of bed at the last minute, grumping the whole way. Splashes very cold water on his face and slaps his cheeks several times times, then puts on concealer (just under the eyes) and foundation (the bits that look most sallow that morning), plus the usual lipstick and perfume. This is probably about a 20 minute routine. He showers twice a week because who cares and also no spoons for it. Partially why his hair is sharp enough to poke your eye out. This is countered though by him doing laundry daily, and a fair amount of perfume. The perfume also drowns out the booze/coffee breath somewhat. DON'T talk to him before that first cup of coffee.
Narancia Ghirga:
Gets up wearing whatever he fell asleep in the night before; Nara goes until he drops, sunrise to sunset. May or may not change clothes after getting up, accordingly. Sprays some dry shampoo into his hair, sets his hair band/scarf in, and rocks that bed head like a gangster. Forgets to do his laundry all the time so it piles up until Bruno yells at him to fix it. Spends about ten minutes if he's not in the mood to deal with trying to pretty himself up, which he learned from Giorno, and is usually NOT in the mood for.
Guido Mista:
Kicks Giorno out of bed first - haha I'm kidding he'd never do that.
He's probably about the same amount of time as Narancia, and a similar routine. A lot of cologne, a quick shave of the treasure trail, a quick swipe of the ol' balls and cock with any kind of body wipe that's to hand because Giorno WILL complain and fuss although a certain amount of Man Smell is just inevitable, and any hair sins from perpetually unwashed hair are covered by his omnipresent beanie. His hair is so much of a pain in the ass, really. It's naturally curly and hard to manage and the products are expensive and he's usually stashing bullets in his hat anyway, so he just keeps it pretty tightly clipped and covered.
I'd say he's about 15 minutes all told, and very reliant on Guy Wipes overall.
Giorno Giovanna:
Lord, this boy takes FOREVER. Two hours likely. Washes self daily. Waxes self so that not a SCRAP of hair except on his head remains. The dark hair on all other parts of him gives him dysphoria, as it is a leftover of Haruno that didn't go away when his head and brows turned gold. Seven-step facial routine. Then the foundation, contours, cheek glitter, a 'nude' facial palette to look like he's not trying while he is in fact trying very hard. He takes meticulous care of his skin, as he can burn easily. He makes Gold Experience (R also) do his braid for him, because the Stand is much faster than his human hands. Depending on his whim at the time, it's either a very easy dressing wearing The Suit in one of about 40 different colors, or else he might swap around to something Fancy that involves ruffles, layers, and effort.
Trish Una:
Always fighting Giorno for who gets in the shower first, and it's about 50/50 who wins - the winner gets the bulk of the hot water and sometimes she just doesn't want to try and compete with Mister Never Sleeps to get up at 5 AM for a shower. Otherwise, far and away the cleanest and least stinky of the crew. She likes to do her own hair though, instead of making Spice Girl do it; she's very very fussy and particular about it, and just wants to feel that self-control as she sets herself up. Setting spray and a skin and face routine to rival Giorno's - they probably borrow product off each other between Sephora runs, but she won't let anyone else touch her lipsticks particularly. She is also super super fussy about how her clothing feels and will discard a piece as soon as it starts to bug her, even if it is new or nearly new. What the hell, Giorno's paying for all of it anyway.
BONUS: Risotto Nero
This man is too busy working out constantly (or elbows deep in bread dough) to fuss about appearance, but he definitely also waxes that chest, shaves his face daily, and the vibe I get off him is that he doesn't worry overmuch about his skin, leading to some sun weathering in the crinkles around his eyes and smile lines. Showers after his workouts, and keeps his clothes and uniform very clean because unusual smells can be a giveaway when you're trying to pull off a stealth kill - so he doesn't use perfumes or fragrances of any kind, uses a bland soap when he showers, and also washes his clothes in perfume-less detergent. Probably 30 minutes or less on average, depending on when he last waxed and shaved.
King Boo, you say 🤔? Hm... well, then, I think I could whip some things about him up!

In his case, yes. It's a death knell.
In Boo Country, death is embraced greatly. Most boos are spirits of those who passed on with evil still brewing in their hearts, or they simply have unfinished business in the land of the living. Boos gain power when they're in clusters, so the sound of a death knell signals to King Boo that there's more power. So to him, that is peaceful.
They're basically the opposite of the toads: while toads value life, the boos value death.

🔒: ㅤwhat is a secret they’ve sworn never to tell ?
His greatest secret is the REAL reason he's after Luigi. And no, it's not because of Mario and Luigi defeating the boos countless times (... at least not originally). That'd be far too easy.
See... the first time King Boo captured Mario, Luigi ran into Bogmire and was overwhelmed by his dark powers. It rendered him with only half a life, part of his spirit being eaten away. He managed to survive, but his spirit never recovered, which has left him in a weird limbo between the boos and the Star Spirits since he's both alive AND dead (technically).
King Boo... he's hoping he can get a hold of Luigi and usher him to the dark side as he has the power to control everything based on both tethers. If he makes everything in Luigi's life meaningless and makes him lose everything, he's willing to bet that'll finally convince him. Thus... they can rule together FOREVER.
🫳: who do they feel they owe, but never paid back ?
Bowser.
Straight up, Bowser.
During the Great Star's War (the first war that brought about the creation of the Mushroom Kingdom), he pulled some strings that inadvertently brought about the downfall of the old Koopelian race (which Bowser was a part of)... and he paid for it with his life. As a Boo, he's still determined to make the world his own, but as an alliance rather than a standalone ruler. In a way, it's his apology towards Bowser for literally killing off the rest of his kin.
The irony? Bowser doesn't even care.
And the apology? It's merely so King Boo doesn't lose his defense.
🧨: what’s the quickest way to set them off, even if they hide it well ?
Ohoho THIS one's easy.
It's anyone being good. :)
King Boo thrives on darkness and evil, so seeing someone do something like... I dunno, saving their sibling, having kids, or even just marrying, all of it is despicable to him. He'd much rather have a world based on hatred and suffering, thank you.
So when Luigi saves Mario? He can keep up his goofy, calm demeanor all he wants, but he is PISSED

Horrid. He NEVER wants to feel any amount of guilt as it would mean he's weak. If I had to describe it... it'd be like someone's siphoning his power from him little by little.
And that is something he absolutely does NOT want.

YUP.
And that pain is losing Luigi each time he gets away. See... while King Boo prides himself on being loveless, secretly he quite fancies Luigi. The more Luigi leaves, the more it reminds King Boo of just how attached he is to the land of the living, and how he'll NEVER choose the boos.
That doesn't stop him from trying to coerce him to the dark side, however.
🪞: ㅤWhen have they looked at their reflection and hated what they saw ?
Oh, every day.
He actively avoids mirrors at all costs because he hates the person staring back at him because it means he'll have to face every evil thing that he's done.
Which... there's a lot.
So he's never looking at that reflection.

Steven is a bit of a shy guy.
Due to his lack of dating in the past he’s turned out to be quite vanilla during the relationship, at first. Doesn’t mean that he isn’t willing to try new things or perhaps go out of his comfort zone to try new things. When he first got into a business-ship with Y/n as his sugar baby he expected a lot of sexual favors only to get the total opposite.
Steven expected things to be rushed once their relationship became official, but instead Y/n was always gentle with Steven. He was always given morning kisses, either when he wakes up in bed with Y/n or when arriving to work. Steven loved his gentle kisses and cuddles, but there were times where he wanted more.
But, each time Steven tried to take things further he’d chicken out, growing afraid and nervous that he wasn’t going to be good enough for his boyfriend. Steven knew about Y/n’s past relationships, none lasted long, but he knew that the man had done stuff with them. Which only made him doubt if he’d ever be good in bed.
It wasn’t until they were six months into the relationship that Steven asked to take things further. He’d randomly blurted it out one night when the two were making out in bed after his boyfriend’s return home from a trip in Spain. His tie lose, buttons undone on his dress shirt, and his hair was messy. The moment between the two was tense and heated that Steven had blurted out his confession.

Steven’s never been so sure in his entire life.
He didn’t think he’d grow addicted to him.
After their first time together, Steven grew needy. Everytime he was alone with Y/n he took advantage of the moment to get into his boyfriend’s pants. The shy and closed up Steven that Y/n knew suddenly changed into a very clingy and needy one after that night. Steven grew confident and whenever they were in the mood he’d sometimes gain the courage to try something new.
He tried leading once only to grow flustered when he ends up in a position he found strange. He gave up on his attempt and let Y/n take control, he’d rather have someone tell him what to do when it comes towards sex since he was still a bit inexperienced in that area.
There was one time that Steven grew curious about the different things that people did during sex that he actually goggled porn videos in hopes of finding something new to try, let’s just say that the man was very traumatized by the things he saw and instead decided to stick with doing the decent stuff during sex before doing something more.
Marc on the other hand loved to tease Steven about his sex life, always poking fun of him whenever he made attempts to act dominate when he failed terribly at it. There were times that Marc wasn’t present during Steven and Y/n’s nights alone, but he did take a peek every one an awhile. He couldn’t help it!
Even though Y/n knew about Marc there were times where the two bonded with each other whenever it was Marc’s turn to take over the body while Steven sat back. Marc was more blunt and the total opposite of Steven, Y/n treated Marc as a friend when the two were together. The two cared for Steven and looked out for him, even though they shared the same body.
Marc was treated more as a friend whenever the were together he’d find ways to steal Y/n’s credit cards, using them to buy himself very expensive and luxurious things. Y/n didn’t mind at all, always getting money and no matter how many charity events he hosts or participates in, he always has a little extra left.
Jake on the other hand was far different from the two. He was far more serious and rarely talked to others unless he felt like speaking to them. Both Jake and Y/n see eye to eye, reaching each other’s level. There relationship is unique, neither Steven or Marc know about him, nor do they know that they are still under Khonshus control due to Jake still partaking into the deal with the god.
One would say that they are more partners when it comes towards working with the god of Death and the god of the Moon. There time together is rare which is why he rarely sees or hears from him, letting the man decide when it’s best to finally reveal himself to both Marc and Steven.
