🇬🇧 I love to read Fantasy novels, these kind of novels got my love for reading started as a matter of fact, but these past months I read a lot of overrated books and #HeartOfThorns is one book that got me all excited for nothing. I didn't like the main character, I didn't like the love interest, I didn't like the worldbuilding and how the magic came to be. This is the kind of book that house publishers sell you as beautiful, telling you "a new feminist hero" or putting a cover and title so much similar to bestsellers know all over the world. How can this kind of book be found on bookish boxes? really people can't see what really is a good fantasy? • 🇮🇹 Auguratevi che questo libro non venga mai comprato in Italia perché è una cagata pazzesca! Un libro scritto esclusivamente per vendere: nell'era del Me too è orribile vedere come CE si sforzino di pubblicare qualcosa che richiami alla mente o assomigli ad un eroe femminista quando alla fine tutto questo è solo una accozzaglia di frasi fatte! Ricordiamoci che una storia deve mostrare non dire, devo notarlo da me se la protagonista è femminista o no! E non parliamo di tutte le tropes che vendono (matrimonio mistico, cacciatrice, genitore assassinato, solo per citarne alcuni) messi alla rinfusa nella storia. Poi parliamo della cover e titolo che non hanno nulla a che fare con la storia ma che fortuitamente (non credo proprio) richiamano un bestseller e voilà un libro si vende da solo! Il bello è quando ti ritrovi questa tipologia di libri mediocri in delle box! Reading Update. Hi everyone it has been an off couple of months for me and instagram. Number of different reasons but I've decided to start a new theme to get a bit creative and try something new. Would love to know what you think?! Pictured are my two most recent reads #thewrathandthedawn and #heartofthorns. I liked TWATD and I think if I were in a better place I would have read it much faster. Probably a solid 4 stars. But HOT was disappointing. I've heard some great buzz for it but to be honest I thought it was a bit overdone - nothing felt fresh. I was really bored with it by the end. So after reading these two I've moved onto #threedarkcrowns which I'm already enjoying so much more so hopefully I through my reading slump. I've also been very good this month and not bought any new books so I wont have a haul for August. But, I'm working on some other posts instead. What have you read recently that you liked?
