heres a couple new headcanons I thought of the other day
Kaeya doesn't like reminders of death.
He's never liked looking at graveyards, let alone being in one. To look at a plot of land that has the specific purpose to bury the dead makes him uncomfortable. He hates the sight of headstones and grave markers. Things just hammering in a point that a person is buried under there.
His issue with graveyards had only been worse since Crepus died.
He hasnt been able to force himself to enter a graveyard since his funeral. He doesn't want to think about the dead man. After all, he has no right to grieve if he was no longer a Ragnvindr.
He thinks flowers are nice, but he doesn't like having them in his house. It makes him think of hundreds of condolences, apologies for an action that they weren't apart of. And what he hates more is when the flowers eventually wilt. Yet again showing him that things just die around him and he has to deal with it.
Diluc on the other hand never really minded graveyards. He never thought too hard about them and what was underneath.
After Crepus' death he had a little bit of issue with entering but he always pushed on, beelining straight for his father's grave. He visits the grave about once every few months.
When visiting Diluc always leaves flowers for his father and he'll sit next to his headstone. Sometimes he just sits there quietly and others he'll talk to Crepus as if he could hear him. He tells him how the winery is going, what's been happening since his last visit, and sometimes he asks for advice. He felt ridiculous when he first talked to the headstone, but now it's a more normal thing for him to do.
Diluc doesn't have a problem with flowers in the house, he grew up with them and it's very rare for the maids to let a flower fully wilt before they replace them with a fresh new one. The only flowers he didn't keep in the house were the ones from Crepus' funeral. He didn't think he had the right for them, so he left them at his father's grave. They were flowers for Crepus, not him.
